GFB T9430 VTA Blow Off Valve
These engines come from the factory with no diverter valve of any kind, which results in turbo compressor surge every time the throttle is closed after boosting. The intake is acoustically tuned to suppress the fluttering sound of compressor surge, but it does not eliminate the effect of pressure pulses that is what diverter and blow-off valves were originally designed to do. The GFB VTA re-introduces a blow-off valve into the 1.2/1.4 TSI system, which eliminates compressor surge to protect the turbo, and delivers the signature blow-off whoosh when lifting off the throttle. Because these engines do not run a MAF sensor, there is no chance of adverse drivability or fuelling issues. The VTA clips directly into the turbos charge piping, replacing a short plastic joiner with a billet CNC machined section onto which the VTA mounts. The kit also includes a boost tee and vacuum hose that clips onto one of the manifold vacuum ports to source a vacuum signal for the VTA valve. This boost tee has a second port that can be used to connect a boost gauge (not included), or plugged off if not required. The whole kit can be fitted in minutes with no tools.

Just installed this yesterday. Was a little complicated installing. My car is completely stock, and I don’t really get that blow off sound like I was thinking, I do hear some air releasing but not aggressive whoosh sound like I wanted

It was extremely easy to install. You do want some Teflon, a little adjustable wrench or some channel locks to tighten up the bits and teflon to put on the threads. It was extremely easy to install but the charge oil isn't as easy as I thought it was gonna be to get out. Honestly the hardest part was getting that plastic clip on to hold the tap in place from coming off. I'd definitely recommend it but if you don't work on cars please don't try to do it yourself, it's not gonna cause major problems but you can easily break the charge pipe if you're not careful taking it off. Also I saw a video where someone took the throttle body off, you can but if you cross thread the screws when putting it back on or something, that can cause issues. The only problem I have is ... MoreIt was extremely easy to install. You do want some Teflon, a little adjustable wrench or some channel locks to tighten up the bits and teflon to put on the threads. The only problem I have is that the hose won't clip onto the tap like it did on the original piece that came out of the housing. It's working fine it's just annoying it's not clipping on lol.
