I have owned a GHD now for over a decade. The reason is the quality of the product. I have naturally fine, curly, frizzy hair so ladies always want what they donāt have, for me itās straight hair. My previous GHD flat irons have lasted for many years with great results. The iron heats up fast, pulls through hair smooth, tames frizz, beeps as needed when ready and too hot. I was on vacation at the beach when my flat irons electrical end finally went out. I did a quick internet search including Amazon and found the best price here, on the official GHD website I selected the base model this go around instead of the limited edition mostly because of the price difference. Hopefully it will be the product that I will continue to love. Time will tell.. until next purchase.

I have very long, highlighted, thick, combination hair. My top layer being relatively straight, and bottom layers being wavy and curly with sections that are kinky. Now that thatās out of the wayā¦ I used the Original 1ā Styler 3 different ways, because some days Iām lazy, and some days I actually have the time to put āpro-effortā into my hairstyle, either by straightening or curling it.For my thick hair the Classic Styler straightens better than it curls. If I want the curls to last all day and not fall out I have to start curling my hair from its natural state. After my hair cooled it was 100% straight, with a lovely, soft and frizz free feel. This lasted all day long too.Last thing I did was ālazyā straightened it by not sectioning or isolating any of it at allā¦ So starting with air dried hair in its natural form, I ran the straightener through my hair randomly. This is where the Classic Styler really shines! It DOES NOT pull on hair or snag at all. Not even a little! I was super impressed by this. The results of this lazy method were fantastic for putting minimal effort in! I cannot stress this enough.I really think that the Classic 1ā Styler is a great 1st time straightener if you arenāt ready for a slightly larger investment with one of their higher end straighteners with more features, and youāll love the way this straightener performs! Even though I mentioned above that I didnāt get a great result curling due to my hair type, Iām still giving it a 5 star rating - My reasoning for this is, for its intended function as their āClassicā option it does the job very well!

Had the classic straighteners before. For about 20 years! When they finally gave up, after being used daily all those years, I just wanted another pair. Exactly the same. Of course there are now many more ghd versions of the straighteners. All look fabulous and with many features. Different colours etc. But I was so so pleased when I found that I could buy the exact same ones that I had used and loved for many years. No hesitation in ordering from the ghd . Com main supplier. And I got a free hair brush as a bonus! Win win š. Best straighteners ever. Thank you for not making the original classic obsolete like many other companies do when they bring out new versions.

In the end I replaced it with a cheaper brand as Iād just moved out and needed to budget more. Having been a while since using a straightener the Remington straightener I bought seemed really good having put up with my curly crazy hair, anything that tamed it I was ready to settle for. I remember thinking why did I spend so much on a GHD when this $50 straightener worked perfectly. A few months later my apartment was broken into and they took my straightener. Again I cried. Itās not frizzy, you donāt have to go over parts a million times ,or re straighten your hair an hour later. Your hair stays straight and looks sleek plus feels amazing! Even the next morning my hair is only slightly out of place and only needs the slightest touch up. It reminded me of why I used to only ever use GHDā¦ and that Iāll be sticking to. I love GHD!

They were the original ceramic styler from the Think Pink campaign and whilst they're still going strong almost 2 decades later, they do not compete with the GHD original styler I've got now.Just the packaging alone has been streamlined and looks so much cooler and sleeker than it's predecessor.Safety is clearly a priority since the straighteners beep when the plug is turned on at the mains although the appliance hasn't been switched on yet. The smooth flat button that lights up when turning on the straighteners is a nice touch compared to the old switch style on my original GHDs. My hair is quite thick and gets tangled easily but these just glide through nice and slick! When using these, I don't get that stretched feeling or that the straighteners are pulling on my hair and causing damage. Owing to this, I also really like that it's easy to add curls and tidy up my waves. Everything just wraps round nicely and doesn't feel taut or pinched.Although I'm putting away the pink O.Gs, I'm really glad I've got these as a replacement. They're basically a massive improvement on what I fell in love with all those years ago and GHD never fails to let me down.

I have a Platinum styler (not the current Platinum +, itās predecessor) and styling does take a while for me as I have a lot of hair, it takes a toll on my arm - this Original Styler model feels a lot more manageable. The weight and the simple/sleek design are much more mobility conscious.The Styler reached its proper temperature within SECONDS of powering up, beating the time my Platinum takes to heat up even though Iām plenty happy with my Platinumās heating speed as well.My hair is curly + wavy, shoulder length, I tend to use my Original Styler on second day hair (a day after showering) there is no pulling, sign of damage, burning smell or sensation.The Styler is pretty straight forward: plug in, press button to power on and wait very few seconds for the temperature to be ready.This model will be magnificent for traveling as it doesnāt take much space and, like mentioned before, itās lightweight!TL;DR this model is remarkably lightweight and easy to maneuver, despite its size it is powerful (2 passes and my hair was left super sleek, no dents or unevenness) yet gentle on even fine hair. Also perfect for touch ups (fast power on and heating up)!I would recommend to my friends! Iāve been very satisfied with the results and quality of this styler, Iām hoping to gift one to my mom soon.
