The Max-Covered cooling features 2x 115mm and 1x 100mm unique blade stack fans with wind claw design and alternate spinning, so the air pressure can completely cover the heatsink. Alternate Spinning can reduce the turbulence of adjacent fans and increase air pressure. Reinforce and channel the airflow to completely cover the heat sink. Extended heatsink design allows air flow to pass through, providing better heat dissipation. The 3D Active Fan provides semi-passive cooling, and the fans will remain off when the GPU is in a low load or low power game. The double ball bearing structure has better heat endurance and efficiency than sleeve structure. The angular and unequal fins height can channel the airflow through the fins and enlarge the contact surface. With direct contact to the GPU and VRAM, the large copper plate combines the composite heat pipes to efficiently transfer heat generated from the interior cores to the heat sink.

Had this for a month or two and it does the job very well.I am not a big fan of the Gigabyte software (as it is very clunky, poorly designed and the lighting control seems to conflict with NZXT CAM), but this replaced an Aorus RTX 2080 Ti - so I already knew what was coming. The card is a beast, runs cool (as an FYI I have an open case, be careful if your case is enclosed). Big improvement over the 2080Ti everywhere and seems very stable, with no crashing at all.I run 1440p @ 165Hz (where possible) and it seems to be a good match, though if you bump up the settings to the ultra side of thing with RTS, etc - you might only be seeing 70-90 FPS in some games. Received this on graphics card on Thursday Nov. 4th 2021. I ran some benchmarks and they all were very impressive. Good temps on the VRAM and board. On Friday Nov. 5th 2021 the screen randomly went black and the fans on the GPU ramped up REALLY fast and loud. I had to hold the power button on my PC to turn it off. PC wouldn't start after that and the power supply was tripping its protection. PSU is a new Corsair RM1000X purchased from Best Buy on Monday of the same week. I swapped the 3090 for my old GPU which proceeded to work perfectly fine on the same PCIE slot and the same power connectors. I ended up securing another GPU from elsewhere and opted to return this to Best Buy instead of deal with Gigabyte RMA. Definitely one of the higher-end 3090 GPUs you can buy, and it performs excellent! And, yes, IT CAN PLAY CRYSIS (Remastered) settings! =) I removed the Air Cooling and put a EKWB Water Block on the front side, as well as an EKWB chrome Back Plate that I drilled 4 holes in to mount a "Bitspower Enhance VRAM Water Block for GeForce RTX 3090 Backplate BP-EVB3090" on the back side to keep the extra 12GB of VRAM cool on the back side. Using MSI Afterburner, I see it clock as high as 1990 Ghz on the GPU before it hits it's 450 watt Power Limit. Very impressive once hooked into my Custom Water Loop! I love it and it should last me a LONG, LONG time!

The product itself works great and it came exactly as pictured and described. The card has astounding performance and is a significant upgrade from my GTX 1070. The only problem with the product is that it was nearly double the MSRP! When compared to similar cards being sold through third party dealers it has a fair value. But compared to what it originally sold for the price is god awful. I would only recommend buying one of these GPUs for this price if money isn't an issue for you.
This was my first Gigabyte product. I typically avoided the brand due to their reputation of high failure rate products. However their 3090 was perfect for the theme of my new PC build and initial reviews made it sound promising. I can forgive the terrible software because I just needed it to work once. However, the card died in 9 months of owning it. While gaming my screens went black and system suffered a hard crashed. Upon reboot, the card made a frying noise and started smoking. Card is now dead and I have no GPU. I hope their RMA service does not take long. I have never had a GPU die on my like this.
Amazing workstation card, love it! Had to change the thermal pads though and it requires a $250.00 heat diaper to the back plate though. Two layers of high quality 3.0 mm thermal pads across the surface up to while leaving the exhaust vent open then 10 mm aluminum brackets with high speed fans going all the way down it up to the vent are and then the same on the side. They really just need to throw in the flag on air cooled cards if they are going to keep increasing speeds so we can have our pcie slots back and the ability to upgrade to two direct pcie connected GPUs that are NVlinked if we wish. But, amazing card, I could not be more than happy with it.
After around a year of normal use, I am encountering the card randomly crashing where all screens go black and it's fans run at maximum speed. Can still hear my game running, but no video until I restart the computer. Sometimes it works for a few hours, sometimes it crashes every 10-15 minutes. I've done every possible troubleshooting step I could find, but nothing fixes it. For a card that cost more than the rest of my computer put together this sucks. First and last time I buy Gigabyte.
This card definitely delivers on performance over the 2080Ti but I am still experimenting in various flight sims to get the best out of it. Even this card won't deliver 100% in MSFS2020. One thing to be aware of is that the backplate runs extremely hot under load, as reported across various manufactures including one post claiming 100-110C. That is not reported by GPU monitoring software which only reports the core chips temp. The heat comes from the 24Gb memory chips under the backplate. You may feel it calls for cooling heatsinks and thermal paste on top of the backplate if only for peace of mnd. Oh and it's Big!
This card is an absolute beast. I have a 3090 FE as well, along with an MSI and another Gigabyte and this is by far the best built card next to the FE edition. The memory can be OCed on mine to 1575 without a crash, absolutely crushes games in 4k and mines like a beast too when I'm not gaming. The MSI 3090 Ventus version is chintzy compared to this. Also there is a Gigabyte Gaming 3090 that's exactly the same as the MSI Ventus, they look they are made on the exact assembly line. Avoid them and spend the extra money on this card. Trust me.
I wish I could give this 3090 5 eggs, however that is not the case. So I wait for several weeks trying to get a 3090. I finally get one. I pull out the 1080TI from the PC I built myself, that has never had a single instance of BSOD. At 1st boot-up BSOD. What the heck! I check the install to make sure I had fully seated it in the slot, checked the 3 power connectors on top; everything was as it should be. Next, I try a few things, and still BSOD now cannot even get into safe mode. I opened a ticket with Gigabyte support and wait for a few days. They are saying there is a good chance it is defective and I will need to return it for evaluation and repair. So now I'm still waiting. Not good at all.
