I recently built a new gen system for the purpose of kicking rendering times butt! I'm a VFX artists, and my previous system was running a Asus Rog RTX 2080ti. Now that GPU is still pretty good for gaming, but for the type of work I do in VFX, I'll require 2 or 3 of these GPUs just for rendering. So when I planned out a new build to take on rendering, it was like pulling Excalibur out from the stone ready to destroy anything in its path! The render slayer I created consists of i9 13900KS CPU, Asus maximus Z790 HERO motherboard, Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24GB GPU, 64GB Corsair Dominator RAM, 2x 2TB Samsung 990 SSD, Noctua fans, Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX XT 360mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler. Now my render times have gone from 20hours down to 15-30 minutes! A bit of an overkill, but I gotta have fun as well :D

I've had this card for over a month now. This card is by far the best Graphics card that I've ever owned. It's a beast in every sense of the word: It runs everything in my library perfectly and with very high FPS on my 4k setup. It's temps are massively better, running 20 degrees cooler than my previous RTX 3080Ti, which is amazing to me. It also runs a lot quieter, seldomly ramping up the fans to a point where I may notice the noise. It is a very large card, so make sure you have the room in your case. On that point the 4 power connector adapter that comes with the card is quite ridgid & may very well stick out the side so much, that you may have trouble closing your side panel. At this day and age of video gaming, the graphic processing unit performs excellent.I had to lower the Mv so that the gpu doesn't get to hot while also keeping the fans from constantly spinning. This is actually my very first Gigabyte card, I've always used EVGA and there cards never disappointed me. My 4090 oc gaming is great card, there really isn't much room for overclocking, but lowering power consumption is the way to go. The rgb lighting is ok and not to overwhelming in my opinion, now for the sweet spot of this review. We all know that these 4000x series are bulky, so is the power draw up to 600w. As for fps I am on a 2k (1440p) monitor at 165hz and I did manage to overclock it to 200hz. This thing is outrageous in every regard. The price is sky high. It's so huge it's like cramming a whole Xbox Series X into your PC case, and it sucks down significantly more power as well, not even taking into account the rest of your PC. The performance is equally as insane though. Even with modern games maxed out at high resolutions I often find my 5800X to be the limiting factor for performance. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The size helps keep thermals under control without making tons of noise, even when it does reach its full TDP, which surprisingly doesnt happen that often, even when the GPU isn't being bottlenecked, and it really is incredibly fast. My only complaint is that sometimes the fans suddenly ramp up to high speeds for a couple of seconds for ... MoreThis thing is outrageous in every regard. The price is sky high. My only complaint is that sometimes the fans suddenly ramp up to high speeds for a couple of seconds for no apparent reason (sometimes it does it just idling on the desktop) and ramp right back to normal, but it doesn't happen often enough to really bother me. I have a hard time recommending a single component that is so ridiculously expensive, but if you have no issue spending the money for one I really doubt you'll be disappointed. That of course assumes you're able to find it in stock though, so if you're interested then I wish you luck in that regard!

Card is everything I hoped it would be. What more can you say? Most powerful GPU in the world right now, absolutely shreds every game you throw at it. DLSS plus Frame Genertation, only CON i can think of is the price but if you are in the market for one of these obviously the price isn't really gonna be your 1st concern. And this particular card performs. Quiet, no coil whine, runs WAY cooler than the 30 series. I upgraded from a 3080 TI and that was running (when playing games) at typically 75~ degrees. The 4090 under the same loads I've not once seen it go above 60 degrees. And that's while watching Youtube with many tabs open and with the new Chrome Super Sampling enabled, which btw used to absolutely push my 3080 TI's temps through the roof, but not so with ... MoreCard is everything I hoped it would be. Let me preface this by saying that all of these current gen GPU's cost too much! With that said this card does exactly what its advertised to do. I came back to NVidia because their performance and driver support over the years are the best in the business.Size wise this card dwarfs my last gen XFX Speedster MERC 319 RX 6900 XT in both width and depth so be sure that your case and motherboard can handle such a large card. My build is in a Thermaltake Level 20 XT case on a MSI MEG Z790 ACE EATX motherboard so any card will fit. My mb is also mounted horizontally so no stress on the PCIE slot but if you mount it another way then you will have to consider using the card support bracket or placing it on a riser if your case supports one.The power draw can really ... MoreLet me preface this by saying that all of these current gen GPU's cost too much! My mb is also mounted horizontally so no stress on the PCIE slot but if you mount it another way then you will have to consider using the card support bracket or placing it on a riser if your case supports one.The power draw can really creep up in the 450w+ range during stress testing so if your system's power supply is not in the recommended range you shouldn't buy one. I run an EVGA Supernova G2 1300w with 6 individual PCIE power rails for the GPU and 4 of them are supplying the power to this card using the supplied 4 to 1 12vhpwr adapter. The power connector is a fickle thing and you should be sure to plug it into the card while its outside the case. I thought I had it connected as it snapped when I initially seated it but I wiggled it a bit more while pushing down and it snapped again at which point the tiny little latch was over the notch fully which I verified by shining a flashlight onto it.If you never watched the Gamer's Nexus video on the melting connectors maybe you should before buying any 4090 card so you can fully understand the importance of completely engaging the power connector prior to powering up the system. Even 3rd party cables from well known companies are melting on the 12vhpwr connector so be informed before you make a costly mistake.I have included some of my Time Spy benchmarks so you can see a comparison between my old card and this one running on an Intel Z790 based system with Intel 13900K CPU.The cooling fans on the unit will stop even in the performance mode unless you disable fan stop in the gigabyte utility interface which is not very intuitive. The LED controls are even less useful and the lights stop with the fans and do not function like normal argb lights. I just use them as indicators to whether or not the fans are turning. My case has 19 Antec Prism X fans so temps are good even while gaming and benching. This card runs cooler than my old one but I can hear the fans spool up from time to time and they are quite loud at full rpm.I'm hoping that this setup will last me a couple of years which is why its seemingly overkill. Stock seems to be improving which is how I was able go purchase this card for 1 hour pickup at my local store. If you do buy one be sure the register your card immediately after purchase to get the 4 year warranty.
Upgraded from a 3080Ti and get huge fps gains even with a 1440p 240hz 27" monitor. Runs cool and quiet in every game I tried so far. I can just max out all settings and get the best possible visual quality which is awesome.Pros: 4090 is the fastest gpu available right now. Runs very cool for a high powered gpu. The LEDs look great if you have a vertical mount. So far, the drivers seem stable. This model has a 600W power limit.Cons: The fan shroud is plastic, which doesn't bother me, but seems kind of cheap at this price range. This gpu is massive. I couldn't close the side panel on my NZXT H510 case, so I upgraded to an H7 Flow. The included Nvidia power adapter (same one that comes with every other 4090) had a bent pin on one of the 4 connectors, so that one ... MoreUpgraded from a 3080Ti and get huge fps gains even with a 1440p 240hz 27" monitor. This power connecter is way to short and stiff and is complete trash. I recommend replacing it with something better.Another con: I purchase online for store pickup and the box was partially crushed on one side. If these weren't so rare, I probably would have rejected it without even opening the box. I opened the box at the store pickup counter and lucky for me the gpu was undamaged.
You no doubt already know the details of these cards and in all honesty any model is going to be much the same performance wise. I have to say this card looks better in person than the impression I got from watching HWUB review it and it looks fine in my case with some RGB but nothing too crazy. The card itself is absolutely huge and with the power adapter coming out of the side I am unable to close my case (A Phanteks P400A). The card comes with a quite nice and subtle anti sag bracket but due to my front mounted AIO it did not fit. So I will have to opt for an aftermarket one which will be better than the packet of gum I am currently using lolFor the obvious... the price of these is terrible, the performance is wonderful and the temperatures are really great ... MoreYou no doubt already know the details of these cards and in all honesty any model is going to be much the same performance wise. I have had Gigabyte cards in the past and my 'Windforce' one was annoyingly loud but this one is thankfully pretty quiet and I love that.If you have the money to spare and want top tier performance there is nothing wrong with this card. Though the cheaper models would probably be just as good too
This card has been rock solid for me so far on both and 850w and 1200w PSU. The 850w I used the squid adapters with 3 pci power cables and the 1200w with the new ATX 12vh cable. There is no audible coil whine for me and is built like a tank. The cooler is definitely bigger than it needs to be but it allows the fans to run at a low rpm. I've been using it for heavy Vray GPU rendering tasks, UE projects and gaming and have not run into any issues after about a month of use.The only knock I have against it is the included sag bracket is not great. I don't think it's the best or easiest take one oneIt also doesn't work for my MSI Tomahawk since the motherboard mounting screw hole is in a different spot than required by the bracket.
