The Double Cask is matured in the finest first fill bourbon barrels before being finished for up to twelve months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks producing this outstanding single malt whisky that provides the perfect balance of rich spicy fruits, overlaid with the characteristic sea spray and vanilla oak finish for which the house of Glen Scotia is famous. Tasting Note NOSE Amber. Very sweet. Initially it is all creme caramel, caramelised fruit sugars, wood sugar, toffee and fudge before some apple and peach come through. In time a charred note of bourbon with a pleasing dusty dryness. Has some power. PALATE Sweet start and quite fat and though the alcohol gives a little tongue-tingling buzz the result is a good mid-palate weight. The dry distillery character is there still, but there is now depth to counter. Water slightly dismantles the different elements, but adds some dried mint. FINISH Deep and dark.

Bought as a gift for a friend and did not disappoint! This excellent scotch punches well above its price range with its smooth, complex taste, bearing notes of fruit, spice and vanilla that excite the tastebuds. Would certainly buy again or recommend this masterful Whisky to others!

Nose a little sharp initially then the sherry casking comes though. The mouthfeel is a little dry from the oak. It has a bit of dry oak with some underlying fruit from the sherry. Solid performer for its price bracket

This only took my notice because it was on special. I looked up a few reviews on it before purchasing and to my surprise, the reviews were great. I thought why not, and bought myself a bottle. WOW! I am so glad I did as this has shot up to my #1 Scotch on my collection. This is an absolute treat to drink neat. Smooth, complex, lingering and at 46%, well worth the dollars. Amazing whisky. Please keep this in your store. I love it

Extraordinary, reminiscent of the Nectar D'or by Glenmorangie but even BETTER!! The oak and sherry really come through in a nice way. I generally prefer the the robust peaty Islays but Campbeltown whisky has a beautiful blend of sweet Vanilla, fruits and maple, Dryness and a subtle spray of salt and peat. I was only going to give it a 1 star because it is not popular and I would rather it stayed that way. Wink!!
Haven't tried it myself, but I bought it for a single malt connoisseur on the strength of the good reviews it had accrued, and he was most impressed - evidently a real winner!
I tried this at The Whisky Experience in Edinburgh and decided to make it my choice Campbeltown in my collection. However, it's just a bit on the too rich and heavy side for my taste, but still good enough for 4 stars.
Excellent service, great offers, value for money.recommend to a number of friends.
Hadn’t purchased this since last year and gave it another hit. This is Value Taste Palette and Lingering finish. It has undoubtedly everything you would want in a great Single Malt.Dryness Sweet Salt Fruit and little Smoke.....
Glen Scotia is doing something right because this drop has become my go to Whisky. Its malty sweet, rich and spicy. The bourbon and sherry marry together perfectly. The 15 and the Victoriana are also stand out drops.
