After spending entirely too much time researching to find the “perfect” flash for my Panasonic LUMIX LX100, I finally made the decision to purchase this unit. I am so glad I did. It’s fully compatible with the LX100 and it is the perfect match for the small camera body - it doesn’t look goofy or feel unbalanced. The build quality on this inexpensive little flash is good, especially given the low price. I love that the flash includes a built in wide angle flash adapter and a detachable diffuser is included. Without using the wide angle adapter or the diffuser the flash is way too narrow for photos taken at or near the widest end of the zoom range. With the wide angle adapter the lighting is properly distributed throughout the frame. This was my first ever external flash purchase, so I don't have much to compare it to besides the flashes built into various cameras I have owned. I really like this flash. It is small but powerful, and I can shoot about 1 photo per second (maybe a little faster) using the Panasonic rechargeable lithium batteries I also bought. I like that the flash comes with a padded bag too. This flash has been a great companion for my Panasonic GH5 camera. Another thing though - with this flash I also bought the Vello Mini Softbox which I think costs less than $10, and that has been mandatory to attach to the flash for people photography. My human photography subjects only look attractive with the Vello Mini Softbox attached to this flash. I bought one of these nice little flash for my Panasonic so when I bought the Fuji XT2 I wanted to use its TTL so had to get another that was compatible with Fuji. Did a big Birthday event with about 30 people and this little flash did great. I was surprised how long the 2 AA batteries would last as all my previous flash used 4 batteries. This is really small and puts out enough light to be used as bounce. A plus of the R2 wireless system is I can use my fuji mini on my xT2 and trip my Panny mini off camera and vice versa. So all my flash can be mixed and matched. The mini is a transceiver. I aslo have the R2 remotes so I can use older flashes in manual when needed but they are wirelessly remote tripped.

I wanted something a little more powerful than the tiny add on flash that came with my camera, but also easy to use. I have in my drawer of death a very powerful flash that requires a PHD to go through all the menus to make a small change. Ouch. This flash has 4 easy buttons and a dial that lets you easily adjust with each mode. Love that. Shooting in manual and want to reduce your output? Just turn the dial. Also has high speed sync. And the price for what you get is extremely reasonable in my opinion. Includes a diffuser, pouch and stand. Buy it.
If you are looking for a flash for your MFT camera, this has what you need, at a price you can't beat. Small size so the camera with flash is not top heavy. TTL operation works (I have a G9). Zoom (this is manual). Only two batteries needed (and you can use rechargeables). Comes with a stand for use as a slave, diffuser dome, and has a pull out catchlight card and wide angle filter. Heads tilts so you can do bounce flash. When you get more advanced you can use the flash as part of a master/slave setup. You can put the flash into a strobe mode to take pictures of moving objects (golf swings, pendulums, etc.) High speed mode for syncing fast shutter speeds (an advanced feature really useful for fill flash in daylight outdoors when you want a shallow depth of field).
I am really enjoying using this flash with my GH5 - I am an experienced videographer and sometime photographer who has always shunned flashes and bought fast lenses, but I now realize that a good external flash can be a great asset - sooo much better than a built-in camera flash. And this one seems like a great value. It does so much! Also works great with rechargeable AA batteries. Yay!Note 1: If the auto-zoom isn't working on this flash, make sure the bounce card and extra wide angle diffuser are totally pushed in so they click, otherwise it will not engage, nor will manual zoom work.Note 2: It's not set to display m4/3 focal lengths by default. You'll want to set that in the menu if using with with m4/3 cameras.
