Godox does not make solid reliable gear. They make cheap disposable gear. Their flash units break easy. They overheat and shut off. I dropped my previous transmitter 1 foot onto soft dirt and it stopped working. Do not buy these as your main workhorse system. But they make great backups in a pinch. They are excellent to backlight a portrait. They cost so little that when they do break, replacing them is easy on the pocket. They communicate from flash to flash and with a transmitter pretty well. This new X2 is simple to use and much easier to set up then the last generation. But like the flash, the transmitters are the same. They are not as durable as a Pocket Wizard. I would not recommend this if you plant to use it every weekend with repeated shooting. It will fail ... MoreGodox does not make solid reliable gear. They make cheap disposable gear. Please see my review of the X1R receiver for details. I controlled three Nikon speed lights in TTL and manual. This included a Z9, Z7ii and Z6 with an SB-900, SB-600 and SB-400. Godox firmware was version 1.1.

I bought this trigger to use with a Nikon and flashes previously bought for a Panasonic. While Godox flashes and triggers are made specifically for different camera brands, all the triggers will work with all the flashes. I now have a three flash kit that I can use in all flash modes with my Panasonic G9 or Nikon D850.There are 3 Godox triggers to choose from. The X2 is an update of the X1, for the little difference in price that ruled the X1 out for me. That left the XPro which is an older and more expensive unit. The only advantage I saw in the Pro is that it will control 16 groups and the X2 only controls 5. For me, I don't think I will ever need to control more than 5 groups. Also, the X2 controls 6 different flash modes compared the the Pro's 3. So the X2 was ... MoreI bought this trigger to use with a Nikon and flashes previously bought for a Panasonic. From the camera I have full control of all the flashes including mode selection and power levels and exposure compensation. In addition to that, Godox has a free app that gives me all that control on my iPhone in an even friendly user interface. Only time will tell about durability, but judging from the build quality, I'm not worried about that.

I had purchased one of these about 13 months ago (along with 2 receivers) in anticipation of an upcoming project that never panned out. Originally I had tested and played with the original purchase and put it away. Now that I required remote flashes for a new project the transmitter was not working. I spent a day making sure it was not the settings, battery voltage, the camera, or the flash (the test fire buttons were all working). Turns out it was the hotshoe connection. With the device being out of warranty I had to buy a second transmitter. I hope it lasts longer the the original one....It is a great device when it is working..
Bought this to use with my MF12 macro setup. It works flawlessly and is so intuitive, I never opened the manual. It's really self explanatory. Nothing remotely negative to say about this. I'm a happy customer.
I had an older model Yongnuo flash trigger and receiver and struggled to get the settings correct so the flashes consistently fired as intended. I freely admit it may have totally been operator error but it was a frustrating struggle that I never conquered. So, I took a chance and purchased the Godox system - flash trigger and two receivers.I struggled right off the bat when I went to set the channels. I couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I found a YouTube video (Godox X2T Radio Controller -- Complete Walk-through; 36 minutes) and one of the first things it did was explain how to set the channel. (I would have never figured it out on my own.) Other than that, the rest (so far) has been straightforward and intuitive and I'm delighted with this new Godox X2T ... MoreI had an older model Yongnuo flash trigger and receiver and struggled to get the settings correct so the flashes consistently fired as intended. Recently bought the Good X2T-N Trigger. I love it. It works great and I love the pass through option. The controls are easy to see and use. Strobepro offers a very comprehensive video on their website to walk you through all the functions. It was very helpful.Overall, my experience with Strobepro and this product has been amazing. All of the staff were so helpful! Thanks so much!
The X2T trigger arrived with a bunch of other gear that I ordered. The first thing that I did was check out the new foot locking mechanism. Twisted it on - couldn't twist it off. I stopped short of using enough force to break it. Contacted Kevin and told him the problem. You cannot beat Strobepro's service. Kevin set me another one by Express Purolator, probably even before he had received the original one which I had returned. It was with great anticipation that I twisted the foot lock on the second unit. It was stiffer to turn to lock than the first one and appeared to not want to unlock like the first one. I guess I held my nose the right way, because I eventually got it to unlock. Note - it does NOT unlock with a delicate push of an index finger the way you see ... MoreThe X2T trigger arrived with a bunch of other gear that I ordered. I'm looking forward to controlling my two V860IIs, my two AD200s and my XPro 600 all via the phone app.
It works great with my Godox flash. Like the TTL and manual controls from the unit. I don't get why the hot shoe top doesn't work with non-godox products. I have an older wireless flash trigger and Nikon flash that I could run off the hot shoe on top of the trigger unit, except it simply doesn't work with it. That's also the reason I had to buy this unit in the first place, because the Godox flash would not fire when attached to my old receiver. Feels more like a proprietary choice than anything else.
The buttons could be labeled more intuitively. It's hard to remember which one adjusts the lights. The unit keeps falling out of high-speed sync with my Nikon D700. I have to fiddle with it and turn it and the camera on and off. I don't know what finally makes it work; however, it's a real pain when shooting. I shoot in manual mode and adjust the shutter and aperture to get different depths of field and exposures. All of a sudden it mysteriously stops syncing when I lower the shutter speed. Nikon D850 users will need to set their flash in CMD FP mode. Nikon does NOT include instructions in the owner's manual on how to use the D850 with studio lights and a transmitter. I use channel 5 and it works fine--except for the high-speed sync on the D700.
