Golden Fluid Acrylics are highly pigmented acrylic colours with a consistency similar to heavy cream. Produced from lightfast pigments, not dyes, they offer very strong colours with very thin consistencies. No fillers or extenders are added and the pigment load is comparable to Golden Heavy Body Acrylics.Unlike mixtures of heavy-bodied paints and water which can produce weak colour and films by dilution, Golden Fluid Acrylics contain high pigment levels suspended in an acrylic polymer vehicle. The result offers fine dispersion, high tinting strength, durability, flexibility, and good adhesion. Fluid Acrylics are ideal for spraying, brushing, pour painting techniques, and staining, and can be mixed with other Golden products. Blend with Golden Airbrush Medium for spray applications. Excellent for applying on fabrics.

This transfer paper makes my life sooo much easier when it comes to transferring my drawings to a prepared wood panel. As the box says, you really can use a sheet many times (I've used one 8x0" sheet three times so far, without losing the quality of the traced drawing. The lines are super crisp, and you don't have to press ridiculously hard.My only issue is with the white transfer paper on dark backgrounds - you do have to be super, super careful about not smudging it, and some white particles do scatter/adhere to the surface. If you're painting the background, not an issue! But I like to leave the wood exposed for some paintings, so I have to be very careful in this situation because I can't just paint over smudges. In this situation, the lines also erase fine, but removing eraser bits from the surface becomes tricky when you're trying not to smudge, and when you're using clear gesso (which is very gritty). If I were using white gesso I'm sure it would be easier. I'll try the graphite paper on dark surfaces next, with the hope that I can see the lines well enough on a dark surface, but also that smudges/bits of transfer pigment are not as easily seen.

I have been working with Golden fluid acrylics for nearly two decades. As an acrylic painter working on many different substrates and surfaces, I find Golden fluids offer the best pigment load and vibrancy of any fluid acrylic as well as the ability to build depth and vibrancy in layers. Weather I am staining raw canvas and using them like a watercolour or adding retarder and using them like an oil, or for glazes, Golden fluid acrylics are my go to and never let me down.

Golden paint is my favorite brand of acrylic paint. Who could forget about you, my dear? And who will they ever find to replace you? There's a reason this is the paint that runs out first, my friend. For it is the foundation of all our creation. Would we still be able to paint without this in our palette? And yet it has no hue. I shall now indicate that I am also interested in the #sweepstakes so I can get some more money for fantastic art supplies just like this.

I normally work with heavy body paints and I've never used fluid acrylic paints before so I was a bit hesitant to order them at first. But the prices seem more affordable for me compared to the heavy body paints so I decided to give it a try along with Golden Extra Heavy Gel (matte). And I am happy that I gave it a try! These are definitely fluid, but it's gem packed with high quality pigments. Colors are so vibrant and work well with the extra heavy gel to create thicker texture. Also, work well itself or mixed with water to other acrylic medium for glazing and layering.
I have a love/hate relationship with Golden Fluid Acrylics. I hate the sheen that some of them have and the price can be tough on the wallet which has led me to try many other brands... but some of the colors are top notch and I can't find anything that compares to them. I mix with raw umber constantly and have yet to find another brand that offers the same raw umber hue -- it's perfect. Same goes for sap green. Both titanium and zinc white are in my top two white brand choices, but again, the sheen is a bit more than I personally prefer. The carbon black sheen is over the top.Yes, I know Golden offers a matte paint. They do have a beautiful finish but the odor is too potent for me. One can, of course, also solve the shine 'problem' by using a matte or satin varnish at the end (and I do), but I like to scan my work prior to varnishing and the sheen complicates that.Overall, they're wonderfully pigmented with fantastic fluid viscosity that works well for very detailed brushwork, but price and sheen often lead me elsewhere for many colors. If the sheen doesn't bother you and price isn't a factor - you'll love them.
There is no finer paint than Golden for my needs. The colors are so vibrant. The application is smooth whether you use a heavy body or a fluid acrylic. Fluid acrylics are great for full coverage that is absolutely smooth, with few visible brush strokes unless I want them there. It flows over the canvas but can't be confused with the Golden High Flow acrylic because it is not as thin and wet and serves an entirely different purpose. To be able to achieve gorgeous, deep, brilliant, dynamic color that is full coverage so easily with a fluid acrylic? It can only be Golden.
I bought several additional colors as I already had a mixing set. Absolutely LOVE them all! Colors are always so vibrant and have outstanding viscosity and coverage. The fluid acrylics by Goldeb are my #1. Soft body are a close second. But every product I've gotten both from Blick and Golden have been stellar. Sure you pay a bit more but definitely worth it! A little goes a long way!
I have Golden paints that are 10 years old and still work like new but I was running out so gave this set a try before investing in larger bottles. The formula feels different, a little too 'slick' for my liking. The pigment goes a really long way when mixing and I found that I was using quite a bit of paint in experimenting to determine with how much was too much. Fortunately, they had a lot of stretch when I finally got to application. Without the addition of medium these paints dry to a very shiny finish which didn't appeal to me. Some artists might be going for a shiny plastic look, in which case they might really like these paints. There are two Phthalo Blues (red and green shades). I would have preferred a French Ultramarine over one of these. You can't go wrong with Daniel Smith watercolors. I generally squeeze them into half-pans and carry them around dried to use on the go, and they re-wet really well and make a wide range of beautiful colors and color mixes. I absolutely love the primatek line, and think it is the most unique and high-value watercolor product Daniel Smith offers. The range of colors you can get from a single tube is amazing (my favorites are green apatite genuine and hematite violet!). The more "standard" colors--your Payne's gray, ultramarine, alizarin crimson, etc--are also high quality and move well in water. I'd say they aren't as fluid and re-wettable as comparable brands like M Graham or Sennelier, but are much more travel friendly than those brands, and only take a smidge ... MoreYou can't go wrong with Daniel Smith watercolors. Once softened, they work wonderfully. The color range and ability to get them in 5ml or 15ml tubes are definitely pros.Specifically speaking on the iridescent colors, I think that most of them are neat, but perhaps not as superior over other metallic watercolors on the market. The pearlescent shimmer is dazzling, but others I've tried are average. Still, if you have the budget for it, they can bring that extra pop to your paintings that you can't get with standard colors. It's a subtle touch, but can really take a painting to the next level.I'd definitely recommend this brand to any watercolor artist.#sweepstakes
I used mostly the Fluid Acrylics for a painting that I wanted to be flat (no Impasto) so I could put a flat glossy clear coat over. Golden makes the best readily available acrylics and this did not disappoint. Not quite as opaque as their other paints, but then how could it be as still be thin. I also used it with airbrush medium and it sprayed well. Not sure why they call it "Gold" it was very brickish color.
