The phone is very nice on appearance. It has a very large screen. But I definitely will never get another Google pixel 3 again. I've had 2. The first one lasted about a year. I had to use my insurance to get another one bc they declared it a manufacturer defect. ( The insurance would only give me the same phone for free) It randomly plays YouTube without me touching it. The screen will be black and the phone locked and all of a sudden it will pull up YouTube. It will say a certain time it will die but die 30 minutes to an hour before the time it says. Everytime I try to watch Netflix it has a static line moving across it. It shuts off randomly, it doesn't tell me everytime I have a text or phone call. Absolutely love this phone!

While shopping for a new phone, I read a lot of reviews (reputable and otherwise) to try to find a phone that would function well as a phone (not too hard, as most handle this task well) AND that would be a good substitute camera for those times when I either don't have or don't want to deal with carrying a dedicated camera. Night sight was understandably strained by that test (it's not designed to take photos in almost complete darkness, I don't believe), but it came out like a champ and did better than any other phone or camera has been able to do. In dim lighting, the Night Sight setting is truly amazing, and you wouldn't really know the room was extremely dark/dim when the photo was taken.If only for the camera capabilities, this phone would be well worth the purchase. However, it also handles normal tasks very well. It's quick and responsive, and the ability to "squeeze" to get information from the phone by speech, without having to unlock it (squeeze the sides of the camera and then ask for the location of a restaurant you need, for example), makes this a really great phone.The few cons: Like all technology, this one has its drawbacks. You can't add a memory card, which means that at some point I'm going to have to clear off photos, apps, books, etc. However, Google photos automatic backups are working perfectly so far, so that offsets the "con" a little bit. Still, memory might someday become an issue, and it seems like a silly oversight to omit a memory card slot.I know the Pixel 4 will be released soon, but if you don't feel like spending the money on the "latest and greatest", this is a great phone to consider. I've owned (or jointly owned with my husband) several phones, from iPhones to Samsungs, and from LGs to the short-lived Kodak Ektra. None have won me over so quickly and so completely as this phone. It's so close to perfect that I can't wait to see how amazing the Pixel 4 is, because I'm sure that will be my next phone.

Don't buy Pixel phones.

Giving it 2 stars because it functions like a phone. You can call, text, use the internet, use apps... However, the price is ridiculous for the quality of the phone. With every update came glitches and so many annoying moments when my phone would freeze for long periods of time. Sometimes it would freeze while starting up. I can't even text people without getting irritated with the phone because sometimes it decides to stop tracking my touches and comes up with gibberish letters that aren't even near the ones I typed. Even as I type this review I'm struggling with the dumb keyboard. The camera is okay. The editing the photos app does? Terrible. Excellent Phone, Excellent Price

I was a little concerned that the phone might have annoying scratches on the screen. It did arrive with 2 extremely minor scratches, but I have to look carefully to see them. The battery life has been fully acceptable, much better than the Pixel XL that this phone is replacing. I purchased a wireless charger that meets the Qi standard, and it works well with the Pixel 3. The Pixel 3 screen is larger than than on my XL, yet the phone itself is significantly smaller. Once I transferred my data from the old phone to the Pixel 3, Google offered an OS upgrade to Android 12. This being the last OS upgrade the Google will provide for the phone, I installed it. It has some convenient features. Good Phone and Value, But a Busted Camera Ruins It

I actually really like this phone. So why two stars? The camera was defective out of the box. It would not focus properly. This is apparently a known hardware issue with this model, so I don't know why the seller's technicians didn't catch it. Seller didn't respond to my message, so my only recourse is to return it. I don't have any hard feelings--I may well buy another one from them! But just know that what you get may not be great out of the box and you should keep your eyes open.

Not only it works great, it also comes with a USB-C earbuds ($30 value) and a 3.5mm jack to USB-C adaptor ($6 value), essentially making it a $129 phone. My wife bought the Pixel 4 XL costing about $800 and it doesn't come with earbuds and an adaptor. If your unit came depleted, just charge it before setting it up. The updates to Android 10, then to 11 are seamless, and you should do it before transferring your information to the phone. If there is a problem you can always return it without your personal information on it. I used a T-Mobile sim and it works fine. If you are thinking it doesn't have 5G, well, I have a Pixel 5a 5G and there is no discernable difference in speed that I can tell. The Google Pixel 3 is a reminder of what kind of value we used to get for our money when buying a phone. as little as 2 years ago. I bought it used/refurbished for $210 (with a 2-year warranty covering parts and labor) which is what a phone should cost, not these ridiculous $1,200 flagship phones that are designed to solve nonexistent problems. The sound is great and the 'cord as a stabilizing loop' is comfortable and a brilliant use of engineering. As far as the phone itself, battery life isn't great but it's more than enough to never be an issue charging intermittently in my car, at my desk at work, etc. The photos this camera produces are way better than they have any right to be. Google's AI photo processing is leaps and bounds beyond anything else out there today and my photos aren't world class but they look great even compared with modern flagship phones. If you can tell the difference you're either zoomed in 20x, a professional photographer, or full of it. Every phone I've owned since 2011 has essentially the same specs: 8 core processor, 2-4 GB of ram, few hundred GB of memory/storage, and 1-2 days battery life. Price I paid for those phones ranges from $750 (Huwaei Nexus 6p new) to $200 (pixel 2 I used to own and pixel 3 I have now). From a user perspective, I can't tell a single difference between any of the last 5 phones I've owned (the 2 not mentioned were a droid razr back in 2011/2012 and an LG V4 or something) except that now I'm not getting taken to the cleaners every time the battery life goes down the drain due to planned obsolescence. Great phone and buying it doesn't make you feel like Ned Beatty in Deliverance.

Happy to say that is works great on Verizon network with a prepaid card. However two complaints, first being that using this as a personal and work phone, I had expectations that GOOGLE FI would be compatible. After discussing with google fi customer support, this is a phone issue. Not a network one. Second complaint is that the battery is very weak. On a full charge, I can run google maps for three hours with all other apps in standy by or disabled and the device will utilize the battery within the three hour period. I highly recommend this seller for overall price of product, overall reliability for a referbished mobile device product and speed of delivery.

Nice beautiful phone set with some drawback.

Overall product is OK. Does have sign of wear (scratch) on back but not such bad. Product received without any booklet or manual. A new alternative (not original) adapter but compatible charger along with a cable received, and it always takes long time to fully charged. No needle provided for opening SIM tray. One point here I must mention is that it discharges very swiftly even not in use. And the discharge is approximately 50% within one day even not a single use. So, just imagine what will happen if I need to call several person and use browsing 20 minutes. This problem I never faced with any other phones I have ever had. Back portion gets unusual hot while in charging and talking over phone. Thanks

Still A Great Phone

Still a great phone after more than 3 years since it was released. Runs just as well as the newer pixels for everyday tasks like calls, messages, emails, web browsing, video chatting, and YouTube. I haven't tried it for more demanding tasks like video games but then again if you're serious about that then you're probably not looking to buy a phone like this. I have a Pixel 5 which was my daily driver and I bought this phone as a backup. But after a few weeks of using it now, it has actually replaced my Pixel 5 for daily use. It really has me questioning why I bought the 5 when I could've just bought this at a fraction of the price. The only negative I've found is the battery life is not great.
