I use this a lot, but honestly mostly for stills. My fiancé loves that we can get pictures of ourselves in hikes and kayak trillions that aren’t awkwardly posed selfies limited by the length of my arm. This thing is a huge part of that, and it really can really work in any situation and from any angle as a tripod/stand. When we do use it as a self stick, the fact that it can be arced, rather than being a straight pole, makes it much easier to keep the pole out of the pic.

I have brought GoPro clone tripod and it does work. However, the build quality was not that good and the tripod broke just after a few outings. Remember GoPro is action camera and all accessories have to be rugged as well. This GoPro built tripod is just built for actions, it is rugged where it needs to be, the folding, the articulate ball head all work very well. I have used it for a few outings using for both GoPro and my iPhone and it has been solid.

Tripod is stable and holds in position. The only downside is the price, it's too high for a selfie stick which does not have any functionality fo its own like the gimbal.

This is a good tool for the GoPro. Can setup in multiple angles and positions that allow for multiple views for your recording pleasure. Only issue I noticed is when using underwater, especially saltwater. I advise you do some research on cleaning post water activities because I wasn't aware when I first used it in saltwater. It became extremely hard to open and made quite a bit of noise when opening or moving in certain positions.
This is a great product for the GOPRos for doing selfies or any vlogs. Very durable and stable. The tripod is very stable while the camera is on it. It may not be the best when windy and using it to freestanding with the camera but I doubt most of them are and found that using a corn hole bag around the base definitely helps for this cure. No issues as of yet and would highly recommend.
Recently purchased with a GoPro Hero 9 and have used it several times. It pretty much stays attached to the GoPro bc if it versatility. I have used it snorkeling and scuba diving and have really enjoyed the multiple angels you can adapt this hand unit. It works great in video applications and photos also. I also purchased the floating handle for these water applications but have never used it bc this unit offers so much more flexibility.

If you don't have the quick release buckle, don't expect to be able to use this immediately. I have a lot of different accessories for my GoPro, but this one is by far the most useful one. It opens up so many options from a selfie stick to a tripod, to a way to extend your camera's view from your hand. I recently went on a trip to Iceland and this was used for the vast majority of my GoPro footage. Everything feels very sturdy and high quality.
Has some nice options as tripod and selfie stick. It's compact and useful. All depends upon your needs. I'm not much of a selfie person. It's handy in various situations and compact.
I have an old hero 7 that 8 use from time to time and needed either a gimble or a selfie stick type deal. With this, I get a tripod and handheld selfie stick. Yes, it's no gimble as it has no additional stabilization but 8m very happy with this. It allows me to get the whole gang in a selfie Pic or video or use as a tripod for some great time lapse videos. It's on the pricey side but it's very well made. I do recommend this.
