The last time I took my beagle to the vet, I was told she would need to be put under general anesthesia to get her teeth scaled. The plaque was especially bad on her molars, very hard and caked on. After about 3 months on these (just 2 boxes purchased) the plaque is completely cleared on her molars on both sides. There is some plaque on her other teeth, but that is much more manageable with brushing. Since then I've started giving her the treats a few times a week instead of daily, and it's kept the plaque at bay. These are great! They saved me and my dog from an extremely costly procedure. It also allowed the vet to get a better look at her teeth so we know that they are healthy and none need to be pulled.I would definitely recommend these! I wish I had taken before and after pictures.

I’m not 100% sure how I feel with dental treats in general let alone the Greenies brand. My dogs struggle with chewing not because they have dental problems but because they just like to engulf everything! They don’t savor their food/treats. I don’t know how long they are supposed to chew on these for but my big dog takes 2 bites and it’s gone granted I have to get smaller sizing to prevent choking because he doesn’t really chew he prefers to swallow (idk if it’s a greyhound thing) and my little dog (10 lb Italian greyhound chihuahua mix) has choked on them and yes I’ve gotten appropriate sizing for my small dog. I had to switch to the bite sized ones so that my little dog wouldn’t choke again. Salt Lake City Humane Society went and picked up 25 dogs he was one of them. I lost my best friend about nine months before that and he had been with me for nine years and I have a few super powers I don’t like calling them disabilities so I really need my dogs I like them more than most people!! Now everywhere I go they all think he’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and I just think what kind of Humann are you anyway greenies to help do a lot of preventative maintenance so I highly recommend greenies.

I'm not complaining that my dog has bad breath, but the product shouldn't claim to freshen it if it really doesn't. When it comes to fighting plaque and tartar, it definitely fails at this immensely. My dog is only about 7 and he has lost probably about a half a dozen of his teeth already. I'm sure a lot of this has to do with just some dogs being more susceptible to having bad teeth, just like with humans. But eating a Greenie every single day has done absolutely nothing in terms of combating the degeneration of his teeth. Just as a comparison, my parents have two other dogs that eat a Greenie every day as well. Both dogs also have that persistent fishy smelling breath. So I can conclude that Greenies definitely don't help much in fighting the bad breath. As a result, I continue to buy my dog the Greenies because he's so used to them, but they're really nothing more than a tasty treat at this point with zero extra benefits.

Great product, horrible quantity packaging...

These are wonderful to keep your canine's teeth clean. The problem is I have a Siberian Husky, and if given the proper way (one a day) the "Large Value Pack" does not even last a month. Already paying more than a buck a day, gets expensive. But only coming in a 24 count quantity as the "Large Value Pack" makes no sense (missing 6 for a 30 day month). I would have no problem buying 13 boxes a year (30 days times 12 months, and "an extra" to cover the other 7 months that have 31 days and the times than an "extra" may be needed if my "girl of the canine persuasion" has the rare "nasty breath" days and could use two in a day). The smaller sizes come in "month quantities" or better, but not the large and that is the size I need for an over 50# Canine.

Greenies Original Regular Size Dental Treats

Run, run, run to the store to get these for your pups! I have two mixed breed pups aged 5 and 4 and they LOVE these treats. My one pup who is a terrier mix is so picky about everything. Food, treats, you name it! If he doesn’t like it, he turns his little nose up at it and walks away. My other pup is a golden mix and is not picky at all. He eats whatever we put out for him. So for my super picky pup to really love these days a lot! And they are good for their teeth which is super beneficial! Would definitely recommend to others!

Greenies Original Teenie Dog Dental Treats are the perfect size for my dog. They are dark green in colour and are shaped like a bone. They are liked by most dogs. I say this as only one of my dogs liked the Greenies. The fussy chihuahua did not! They are great for keeping dog's teeth clean and their breath fresh. They are a fantastic shape and colour and keep your dog amused for a while. They would be very beneficial to a dog as a special reward when they are undergoing training. These would be a fantastic treat for a dog every few days. Also, a nice feature of the Greenie is that it doesn't really smell. Some dog treats are very potent but this little green bone is very easy on the nose. At a recent vet visit, the doctor said that my 7 year old ShihTzu will need his first dental cleaning this fall. I expressed this to my mother, who offered him a teeny greenies treat, which my sister's dog gets daily. She told me that they are healthy for your dog, and help clean their teeth with chewing. He seemed to enjoy it, but I wasn't sure whether he would eat them as happily at home. (Treats from "Grammy" are special, and he would take and eat it from her even if he didn't like it).I'm happy to report that we are on day 3 of his daily teeny greenies treat, and he LOVES them! We were so excited to receive and try out the free sample of Greenies Teenie Original Dental Treats for our 10 yr old Chihuahua. She love them, and we loved the fact that that they helped improve her sometimes "less than desirable" breath.
