It’s a well built watch, with a tremendous attention to details! I’m simply amazed by the dial and I cannot take my eyes off of this watch! I think its size is perfect and I couldn’t be more happy! The H-50 caliber is very reliable, with a solid performance (+/- 3-4 seconds per day), with a power reserve beyond what they promise (80 hours) - mine stopped after 84 hours. Let’s not forget the fact that this is a hand-wound caliber and the retro vibe that this watch gives you… wonderful! This is my second Hamilton watch and I’m pretty sure that there will be more to join my collection!

This smartly executed homage to the circa 1973 W10 has plenty of advantages over the original. The 18mm lugs w/ spring bars opens up options for straps. The Swatch H-50 manual movement holds plenty of reserve power. Fairly expensive to buy new, but a lightly used one can be a true bargain. Forego the supplied strap and buy a single-pass canvas strap from Haveston.

This watch is flawless in construction. It's large but not overpowering and looks good. Keeps near perfect time. The color of the face and numerals are very pleasing. It has a good solid feel to it . That leather band is beautiful and I think it is the best choice for this watch. A very good value for the price. I would match this watch against any other watch out there. It's reasonably priced for what you are getting. This is something that could be proudly passed on to relatives or children.

I was hankering after a Hamilton 'Interstellar' (the now iconic Pilot Day-Date), but this was a better deal - among the best values out there in a quality automatic aviator, and I have really taken to the design and feel of the watch: vintage appeal, slightly rugged, but classy enough to be an all-rounder. The Pilot Pioneer is an excellent timekeeper. After a little breaking in, it loses less than a second per day (on or off the wrist). That is outstanding for any automatic. The finish is simply superb. It has a solid weight, wears well on the wrist, and is all-day comfortable, especially with a NATO strap. It appears a little small for its stated diameter - not a bad thing considering its imposing profile. My two quibbles: The H-10 movement, though accurate, does ... MoreI was hankering after a Hamilton 'Interstellar' (the now iconic Pilot Day-Date), but this was a better deal - among the best values out there in a quality automatic aviator, and I have really taken to the design and feel of the watch: vintage appeal, slightly rugged, but classy enough to be an all-rounder. My two quibbles: The H-10 movement, though accurate, does not have the most fluid sweep-second hand. Look elsewhere if you're expecting buttery smoothness. The lume is not great. That said, I'd buy a diver if I wanted lume.
Pictures don't do this watch justice. The deep sapphire crystal really shows off the face and the applied numerals shine as you tilt the watch in the light. The big white hands make it easy to tell time with the briefest glance. The display back put it over the top for me. The case sits tall on your arm and makes for a substantial watch that will garner recognition and many compliments. This model was released a few years, but don't miss your chance to pick one up.
This is the smaller 42mm aviation/pilot. The dial is large and the lack of a bezel. Makes watch appear slightly larger. The face is in very easy to read. The ability to instantly read the minutes is great. The Hamilton hands with the semi-skeleton allows a window which shows the hour markers. The blue dial IMO is the nicest of the 3 colors available. The minute markers and hands are green inflorescence. It is a classic design.
You are looking at a watch of outstanding, quality, accuracy, and aesthetics. It has a tolerably large face packed with features and luminescent hands; a high-quality leather band which is comfortable and secure, sporting a movement called H-21, a modulated Vajioux 7750 Swiss chronograph automatic movement present in certain Breitlings and Omegas (!!!). Highly recommended for those who don't want to compromise on Swiss watch quality and craftsmanship yet aren't ready to pay $2000+ for their timepiece.
Great "everyday" Automatic watch. I wanted a sporty looking non metal band automatic watch and Hamilton delivered on this one. I have a small wrist so the 38mm was the perfect size. The color combo pops and since special edition made for the Red Bull air race it feels a little more special. I like how the numbers and hands are luminescent - so you can see it in the dark. Quality is decent - if you shake the watch and listen you can hear some of the parts clanging inside - I own higher end watches and they don't do that - but for the price point in which I purchased it - I can't complain. I've had this watch for almost 3 weeks and have received compliments on it (for the times that I was able to leave the house). My wife loves it on me (she actually found it) - and ... MoreGreat "everyday" Automatic watch. I wanted a sporty looking non metal band automatic watch and Hamilton delivered on this one. The best mechanical watch I've ever owned. Better than my Blancpain, better than my Ebel, better than my Rolex. It keeps time better than all my other far more expensive mechanical watches and it looks excellent on my 7 inch wrist. This watch has ruined me regarding all those five figure watches that have the look, but can't tell the time. Bin the inadequate straps that Hamilton supply with this watch, buy yourself a decent strap and laugh at the fools (like past me) who got stung by the grifters like Rolex. A timeless classic.
