Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze 38mm Watch, White Dial

I absolutely adore this timepiece! It's perfectly sized, and slim enough to wear with a suit at around 9.5mm thick. Hand-winding is a pleasure, and one of those tiny daily rituals that adds texture to life. I find myself looking down at this watch not just to check the time seven seconds after my last time check, but just to admire the piece. A few quibbles for the other hair-splitters: the included NATO strap considerably adds to the thickness of the watch overall, but it does well with a two-piece strap. Once a two-piece strap is installed, there is a gap of around 2mm between the strap and the case, so the lugs could theoretically be shorter. Lastly, as this timepiece sports a bronze case, it will leave a small amount of green residue on one's wrist where the crown and case edges contact the skin. This is part of the patination process, is quite subtle, and easily washed off. None of these small observations bother me now that I've put a two-piece strap on my watch. Overall, this timepiece is exquisite. I love it.

This watch is perfect in every way other than the lume. The lume is that bad you may as well not have bothered. I’ve had hundreds of watches over the past decade and this is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. It’s totally illegible at night time. SUCH a shame as everything else about the watch is great. It’s a field watch that you can’t use at night ?

I loved the watch itself, but there are serious issues with the spring bars / strap. I owned the watch for about 6 months, wearing it every day. Then suddenly one day the watch popped off the strap and fell to the floor. After examining everything I didn't see any damage and was able to reassemble. A few days later I looked down at my wrist and the watch had fallen off again, unfortunately this time it was somewhere on the street, never to be found again. Really sad to lose this watch over something as silly as a spring bar malfunction.

Bronze works for me!

Got this watch a week ago and absolutely love it. Initial concerns were lack of drilled lugs, titanium buckle and overwinding. These concerns have disappeared: the band is soft, comfortable and color matched perfectly. I can’t imagine thinking about changing the band. The buckle is a dark grey color and blends well. As far as winding it takes about 70 turns from a stopped watch position. I’ve read about overwinding issues online and have found and thatI wind 25 turns from a stopped watch on day one, followed by 15 turns per day. Works well. Watch is off only a few seconds per day. I’m very critical about watches and this one is a keeper for sure. Only downside to the purchase is the additional cost of this brass/titanium over stainless. Review of Men's Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze 38mm Watch

Great watch, nice size at 38mm and hand winding to give that nice connection with the watch. With the 80 hour reserve, I'm winding it every other day. Wind has a nice positive feel. The face is lovely and clear. As with the Khaki field series it has a 24 hour track inside the regular 12 hour one and the aged effect lume is really nice against the the bronze case. The bronze case is really nicely finished, bead blasted I believe, and the distressed leather NATO suits excellently. Light to wear and has a great presence on the wrist. A watch with a pedigree.Great value from Francis and Gaye and prompt delivery.
