Really good materials and build quality with this umbrella, as expected since I also own a Helinox camp chair. Both are sturdy yet extremely lightweight. It is a bit early to tell, but I am quite confident this umbrella will stand the test of time; it seems quality through-and-through.

An amazingly lightweight umbrella, perfect for EDC use! Appears to be well made/constructed with good material. I haven't used it on a trip yet---but appears to be compact enough for travel/trekking use. It doesn't collapse into itself, so does remain fairly long.

I've had mine for several years now. I like everything about this umbrella except the fabric durability. It tears very easily. Of course it can be patched, to a point. I have 3 on mine.Otherwise, it is very light and sturdy. The frame has held up well.

This has saved me a few times this season. Very light and easy to stow away in your pack’s water bottle pocket. Never had an issue even in moderately strong winds. Dries fast. Can be used as for sun protection in addition to rainy weather. I’m very happy with this product
I own tables and chairs made by Helinox and the build quality is fantastic. I cannot say the same about this umbrella. The construction is very run-of-the-mill and in my opinion, not worthy of the Helinox name. I wrongly expected the handle to fold, which is the case with Helinox table and chair legs. I opened the umbrella once and decided to return it.
I never thought of using an umbrella while backpacking until I saw several PCT thru hikers in Stehekin carrying them on their packs. I bought this back in September for a backpacking trip in Olympic National Park scheduled for October. Well as expected it was raining on departure day. I had always used rain gear consisting of pants, jacket, and cover for my pack. Anyone using a pack cover knows that there is an area between your pack and your back that takes in the rain and eventually things get soggy. Not any more!!! This umbrella goes on all wet trips with me. I have an Osprey back, and the umbrella was a perfect fit. The handle fit thru the shoulder strap loop, and I secured it with one of those large plastic coated wire ties, so I didn't have to hold it while ... MoreI never thought of using an umbrella while backpacking until I saw several PCT thru hikers in Stehekin carrying them on their packs. The handle fit thru the shoulder strap loop, and I secured it with one of those large plastic coated wire ties, so I didn't have to hold it while hiking. Worked great, didn't have to wear my jacket hood, and the water never got between my back and the pack. There were a few times on the trail that I did have to take it off due to very narrow trail with large low hanging tree branches. But if you want to stay dry....Buy this!!!
I’ve always relied on fouls weather gear rather than the hassle of carrying an umbrella- I like my hand free. Weighing in at 7 ounces with a cushy grip and a wrist loop, this sleek deep crowned umbrella is a breeze to tote. Just as good for repelling UV rays as staying dry in the wet weather. No button to push to open it. Stylish and idiot-proof. You won’t be sorry.
So light I was dumbfounded! I picked the red one and it is cute. The diameter is not as large as I expected but it is nothing to complain about. Protection rain or shine is number one.
I was able to get some real world use the other day during a good sized rain storm. The umbrella kept me and my little daypack completely dry. When the rain stopped carrying the umbrella was hardly noticeable. The minimal added weight is so worth it. My only concern was every time I'd walk under or near some tree branches I was afraid the fabric might tear. This is some super thin lightweight stuff but it held up strong. Will need to be careful on future outings for branches and winds.
Bought it for my wife and the first mention for this was "wow, so light". We live in the city so had no chance to use it in back country yet but we usually don't use it in back country..? Bit tiny for big man since it is not a size like golf course umbrella. If your backpack is around 25 or 30 liter, it will be fit. In our case, my wife hung a carabiner in her tote bag to carry. it was fine so far even in the bus in town. The only problem would be price.
