I have a Shure SM55 that screws onto the mic stand, and an SM58 that needs a clip. In some venues, the SM55 picks up a lot of rebound noise, and causes some feedback, due to its sensitivity. Don't want to spend a lot of time switching out, so the quick clip is an excellent solution.

the mic has great grip. the rubber coating makes a little harder to slide off than the plastic ones. but thats what i was looking for. it also wont scratch your mics powder coating. just be mindful the quick release mihgt not work for all mic stand booms. if the boom is too skinny in diameter it wont attach.
Recently ordered the Peavey 5300 system that came with 2 microphones and stands. The mic holders were cheap plastic holders and one had bad threads and did not mount to the stand. When I called about the issue the agent sent me the Hercules mic holder as a replacement. Much better quality and much easier to use. I will be ordering another one for the other mic stand.
Love the ease of operation, the style and the rugged flexibilty. Great for any medium to large size microphone. Not recommended for heavy overhead condenser microphonesThese are ruggedly flexible design and built to last. Real easy to setup and tear down. Saves time and energy placing microphones on the stands. I wouldn't recommend these clips for heavy condenser microphones as they may slip. But for steady stable use such as vocals or instruments, these are fantastic. The other drawback is that they are cumbersome for those of you with limited space in your mic bags.
These appear to be a very good replacement clip. The standard plastic ones do not last plus they have to screw onto thge mic stand. These quick clamp; no muss no fuss, quick, easy and built to last. Thery fit a wide variety of mic body configurations and are a good tool for your sound tool box.
The other review probably did not read the instructions or description. You need to remove the top washer from the mic stand first (if it has one) so the clip can slip on far enough to make a firm grip. Once you do that it should be a very tight fit
Very handy, well made, super easy to attach and remove mic holder. Just be sure to remove washer like nut or other length blocking to allow the mic holder to slide a lot onto the mic stand.
I purchased this clip to replace a generic clip on my Hercules mic stand. Imagine my surprise when the pressure fitting won't close properly on the mic stand boom! I thought for a while I was having a senior moment, but when I tried the clip on my ProLine stand, it fit just fine. So, the ProLine received the Herc clip, and the Herc stand now has another generic clip on it. I honestly don't know whether the clip or the stand is the faulty piece, but I won't buy another one to find out.
