My furrbaby had her belly xray for lumps. The result came out that it is only a big fat. She is 15 months old. The Vet recommended to change her biscuits in to low calorie. Now she started eating her hills prescription diet r/d biscuits and she loves it.

The cat has have lost some weight which she wasn't on her old biscuits and she is allowed double the amount. She is much much happier. As always I love dealing with pet post allways have the best prices and the item is always shipped and arrives incredibly quickly

Excellent Food Cats with Weight Problems

Great food for a cat that needs weight management and also has urinary problems as well. It's the only food Sooty can have because it is low in fat.

My boy was at an unhealthy weight of 9.4 kilos when he started this food. After having no success with weight loss on another, I started him on the r/d dry food and in just over two years he is now a little underweight at 6.44 kilos. I will be increasing his daily amount to see if it will at least maintain his weight (or increase it by a little) before I change back to the other product (another Hills Scientific Diet) which did maintain weight with no loss/gain. Hill's Prescription Diet - Feline r/d Weight Reduction 4lbs

I purchased this because our cats' favorite, Hill's prescription diet, weight management was out of stock. The main ingredients seem to be pretty much the same. However, cats being cats, they haven't quite liked this variation, and so we shall move back to the weight management diet once it appears back on the online shlves.

My cat loves it but not losing weight.

I first had my 15lb cat on the Hill's Metabolic for over a year and she didn't loose any weight. I started going to a new vet and was told that some cats gain weight on that brand which she did gain a 1/2 lb. So then, they recommended the R/D for my cat. It took her a while to get use to the new food but she doesn't complain now. I am disappointed as she hasn't lost any weight in over 9 months. Not sure if I should go back to something less expensive since she has not lost any weight and this cat food is expensive. I don't mind spending money on my sweet cat to help her but I was disappointed in the Hill's products.

Not a big hit, but it works

When my cat weighed in at 23# 7oz,, well he may be a large cat, but that is way overboard and he has a definate paunch. My vet gave me this food to help him. Said cats love it. Now, he has been fed a cup of food a day for the last 2 years, the healtyist i could find. It hasn't affected his weight at all. So i switch to this food, same dose, a cup a day, and he looses 15 oz in 2 weeks! Okay, that might not be a killer progress for a human but for a cay it is great! The thing that might be helping is that he only eats it if he is really hungry, because he doesn't like it. He always trys to burry anything he doesn't like and I have the table scratches to prove he does not like this food. They won't starve themselves any more than a child will hold his breath untill he dies. Can't happen. This food is a cat changer

This has changed our grouchy, moody, overweight, almost returned to the shelter cat to a happy, playful, sometimes skitzo cat. I’m glad the vet recommended it! The only problem is it’s expensive and we can’t go back to normal food because she turns back to her original grouchy self once the weight is put back on.

This food is great for managing cat’s weight & for a shiny coat!

Our cat Lily loves this cat food and this really helps us maintain her weight. It’s high quality & our cat is so healthy for a 14 year old!Everyone including our vet always comments on how beautiful her coat is! It’s such good quality & the bottomless bowl makes the delivery so much easier! I cannot recommend this enough :-)
