This food has done wonders for my dog's digestive system. He has really bad acid reflux. His arthritis meds worsen the issue but can't be eliminated so he has a medication to help reduce acid and gets fed multiple small meals daily. That's helped a great deal but didn't completely eliminate the acid so he often wouldn't eat and seemed to feel miserable. The introduction of this food has helped immensely. He loves the flavor so we seldom have any trouble getting him to eat. On the worst days, we mix in a small amount of the soft/canned version and that's a guarantee he's going to eat.

My dog hasn’t farted in days! Lol I’m absolutely shocked! I have three dogs and my oldest is the gassiest pitty you have ever met. I’ve tried her whole life at finding a food that helped and at 11 years old I finally did. She doesn’t have a gurgly tummy, she’s not itching, her rashes have gotten better, and her farts have subsided! I wish I found this sooner. It is pricey especially with three dogs but it’s worth it. I know they are getting the best nutrition. Plus the bag! I looooooove that it seals back up! Um hello?! Smart

We do mix in a little Hills canned food for flavor once a day (they're fed twice a day) which we've always done and for the other feeding we'll put a few small pieces of treats on top and they'll eat some of the dry too. Like we said our girl has always been picky but seems to eat it just fine when she's hungry. They're stools are totally normal too with this food. We've tried other dry foods in the past but they seem to like this one best. We're sticking with it.

Great food a bit pricey
20 August 2023

I bought this because I have a Dalmatian who is always itchy! My one dally has itchy feet and itchy ears. This was recommended to me after my girl had a hematoma in her ear due to itching/allergies/infections. I figured I would try starting with a better food for her gut, she and my other two dogs love the food but she does still seem itchy still so far. The Dalmatians are less gassy and that’s always good but I’m not sure this has helped yet with (what I suspect is yeast build up). I am on my third bag… fingers crossed this resolves by the 4th bag… it’s expensive.

Hill's Adult Sensitive Stomach and Skin Stomach
23 August 2023

Our family re-homed a Border Collie (actually looks just like the Border Collie on the Hills bag) who was 5.9 years old and for her entire life had trouble with vomiting and diarrhea. We kept her on the food she was on at the previous owners home because they told us to. We had just had her for a couple of weeks and she had some bouts of diarrhea but this seemed to be her normal. One weekend she became very weak and had extreme vomiting and diarrhea to the point she could barely walk. We took her to an emergency vet for treatment. She was severely dehydrated and needed IV fluids and medicine. She was hospitalized for 2 days and nights. The veterinarian told us to switch her kibble from what she was on to Hills Adult Sensitive Stomach and Skin. I've got wolf hybrid dogs needing a sensitive diet
12 February 2022

Wolf Husky Malamute Redbone Coonhound and Britney spaniel (I know, lol) mix dog-like service animal registered furry kids with extremely fickle diet sensitivities. They'll eat anything, but one of them sheds like crazy when the food isn't good and the other has a whole spectrum of gnarly issues from sometimes even very expensive brands. This is my most successful high water mark middle ground. It's affordable more than I realized as it lasts me longer than cheaper stuff as the cheaper stuff the dogs won't stop eating, pooping, repeat. I'm assuming it's because of nutrient deficiency in the food that they're seeking or perhaps the fillers in the formula isn't filling them. Anyway, I'm spending the same but they're eating less but doing more. No more diet issues. No ... MoreWolf Husky Malamute Redbone Coonhound and Britney spaniel (I know, lol) mix dog-like service animal registered furry kids with extremely fickle diet sensitivities. No more super stanky dinosaur dumps! Between this and the canned stuff from same formula I'm seeing something close to the ideal version of my babies. Definitely happy. Definitely recommending. Plus I've read lots about grain free actually being dangerous and causing severe heart problems for dogs. They're omnivores, some grains are needed in their diet. I'd accept grain free arguments for cats but in dogs, nah. It's an upsell that's misleading. Anyway, I tried science diet (I used it years ago to much satisfaction and it seems the food is only better now) again after seeing them making the safe kibble list and unquestionably it was the right decision

Made the switch from Farmer's Dog and very happy
18 August 2023

My 12 year old chocolate lab has been prone to skin irritation and hair loss most of his life. He also has a sensitive tummy (and gut) that is easily upset. We tried most of the "top shelf" kibbles with limited success. Home cooked meals and Farmer's Dog did work, but were time consuming and expensive. Our veterinarian suggested trying Hill's Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach and Skin and I am so glad we did. We made the switch about 9 months ago. His skin and coat look great, he has no stomach or bowel issues, and kibble is so much easier to store and serve. We were so pleased that we started our new lab puppy on Science Diet Large Breed Puppy. Recommend without reservation.

Saved Our Jolly!
15 January 2022

When we adopted Jolly, he was two years old. He is medium to large Rough Collie but weighed 34 pounds. The food he was being fed, by the breeders caused him to violently expel from both ends. He ate like he was starving, just to have horrible results. The first day or two terrified us and caused us to severely second guess the adoption. We called our vet and immediately purchased this food and placed a small amount in to an egg carton so he’d eat it slower. The results were very quick! He quit throwing up, his diarrhea ceased, he ate once a day, even if food was in his bowl, he ate only what he needed. His stools became solid and he went once or twice, maybe, per day.Fast forward one year. He weighs 60 pounds. He is very happy, playful and healthy. Shinny as a Brand New Penny!
31 August 2023

I Love Hills Science Diet and so do my Dogs!! After my Vet placed all 4 on Hills for Sensitive Skin and Stomach they have coats that are thick and shinny, skin healthier than ever and tummies that have become healthier and more regular. I have 4 different breeds that had different issues. One older, 2 adults and one pup. We have gone from 3 different brands to all one bag now! And I get so many compliments on their healthy shinny coats!! And did I mention all 4 Love their Food!! Thank you Science Diet for making my fur babies healthy, happy and for saving me money on vet bills!!!

Solid Poos again!
30 May 2023

Thank you, Hill's Science! my Dog used blue wilderness puppy, then I transitioned him to adult Blue Buffalo and He never had a solid poop. I even tried Blue Wilderness adult, and still no luck. I was surprised because he did so well with the puppy food. At first I doubted it was the kibble, but I stopped feeding it to him, and only gave him FreshPet meat that he always loved. Sure enough, healthy poops. So I slowly reintroduce it Blue Buffalo, and back to his upset tummy and soft poop. Now I knew for sure it was the kibble. I did research for sensitive stomach dog foods, and I really like the formula for this one. I tried it out. I transitioned him, and he is all good now! I don't hear his tummy full of bubbles/gas, and he has solid poops now.
