The clothesline itself is decent and looks good. Only just installed it so will see if it withstands the weather, use and the tests of time. The installation was a real pain though. The dyna bolts provided were utter cheap rubbish and ended up destroyed and in the bin. I purchased 8 new dyna bolts of better quality, functionality and size - don't care if that voids the warranty, but was never going to get installed properly with what was included. The plastic wall brackets are also very brittle and cheap feeling, who knows how long they'll last. The instructions were also at times difficult to follow - the diagrams are tiny and it's hard to see the detail of how the parts fit together and the written explanations are vague and counter-intuitive. In the end I just went off gut instinct and it worked out alright. Decent clothesline but mediocre installation experience. Shame for a company that created a the hills hoist icon.

Is great. Took a handyman three and a half hours to put up for me. Had to get old one out and cement in new one. Expensive! Love the little sock clips on the side. Love the Woodland Grey colour.

I bought this recently and found that the installation instructions are wrong regarding the wall anchors. The instructions say to use a 8mm drill bit for the supplied dynabolt, but you actually require a 10mm masonry drill bit to allow the dynabolt to fit in the hole. After installation I noticed that the left side rail tilts a little when hanging clothes. The right side had no issues. Overall satisfied but found it to be too expensive for this product.

I love this clothesline. It was straightforward to install, sturdy, looks great and does the job. The lines are closer together than I expected, but I can fit an 8kg washing load on it using mostly every other line.
It’s perfect for my garage, and I love that I can keep my washing out of sight 90% of the time. Will hang sheets outside if sunny and on a lovely day, but this is much better than a clothes horse in my deck, or using my lines set up on my verandah when friends drop in unexpectedly. My ‘hubby’ secured it on a solid piece of timber to the wall in my garage and it does the job beautifully in there. Great value for money.
Fantastic addition to the laundry. Airtaskered the removal of my ancient Hills hoist and same again on the new double folding line. Worth every penny. Nice work on the shirt hanger too. Aussie innovation at its best!
If I was asked to provide an example of something "cheap and nasty" it would be this clothesline. You will also need to purchase mounting hardware appropriate for your installation medium, as the provided bolts and screws are beyond useless. The line tensioner is completely usless, as is the contraption to tie in the line at the end. You would be better off tying it off under one of the existing loops and tying a knot. There are no instructions, no links or QR codes to tutorial videos or instructions, there isn't even a sheet of paper describing what's in the box, so you don't know if everything required is in the box or if you've missed something. The worst part, the part of the clothesline that mounts to the wall is cheap plastic. It moves around a lot, falls down in wind, and after 2 weeks the plastic mounts are already splitting and coming apart. Only reason I didn't return it is because I can't be bothered taking it apart. You're paying $50 for a clothesline and $150 for the "hills" brand. Avoid at all costs
Just installed this product. The instructions say you need a 8mm masonry drill bit for the dynabolts but this is way off. I used an 8mm drill bit which I purchased from Bunnings and had to absolutely hammer the dynabolts in to the holes. It was a real effort to get them in and probably compromised the installation. I think I also threaded some of the dynabolts with very little torque applied. Seems like a good enough product but I would recommend buying 8 x dynabolts separately that will hopefully be of better quality and also using a drill bit size to suit them. If you'r'e using the supplied dynabolts use at least a 9mm drill bit.
I recently bought this set and it took me 2 days to fix to the wall. The nuts they provided with it are M10 however, in the manual they said M8. The drill holes diameter is also mentioned to use 8mm bit. Since I follows the manual without noticing the actual screw size, I ended up losing all wall bolts because of force and caused bends. It became so hard to remove them and redrilled with actual 10mm bit size. I completely bought 8 new dyna bolts and finished this job. This mistake from their side caused me time waste and money waste.Who ever buys this, check the screw size and drill holes with the same size bit
We've had this up for 3 months now and it is still holding strong. It has a great folding mechanism and uses premium line and aluminium. The lifetime warranty is also a good way to know that Hills stand by this product.
