Having researched a number of brands at like for like specifications I settled on the 43A7H. As this purchase is for the kitchen, sound quality wasn't a key issue. What is, is picture quality, and picture in the EPG. A number of manufacturers at this price point don't provide this feature so cudos to hisense on this. The picture quality is quite remarkable considering it is only fed by aerial. However, being described as having a Freeview HD tuner, on channel installation NO HD specific channel installed raising a question hence only 4 stars. Awaiting a response from hisense customer services regarding this. Like the way the tv has a bang and olufsenesques turn off motion!

The Hisense A7HAU is my 2nd Hisense TV to purchase in as many weeks. The A7HAU is a very light TV to carry out of the box and was extremely well packed. Out of the box you can easily configure the TV and no need to sign up to anything if you don't wish , you can skip those parts if you like.Once up and running there is an app that I wish was available however even on the OLED screen the Paramount+ app isn't available. This can be fixed with a Chromecast 2 4K unit. The audio quality from the A7HAU is OK for a TV of this price range I guess. However if you should decide to run it thru an external stereo this can be done with a TOSLINK cable off the rear of the TV to TOSLINK input on stereo or thru TOSLINK to RCA audio converter. If you use the converter make sure to set TV audio output to PCM , if not you will hear either clicking or nothing at all from stereo. One thing I have noticed with the Hisense TVs is the brightness, contrast, and colour etc are all set to the same settings from default no matter what model you purchase. These settings by default on the OLED screen work extremely well ,however on the A7HAU you might like to tweak those a little. I found the brightness and contrast needed to be decreased just a touch and the colour to be increased just a touch and it was a much more pleasant view. Also The Chromecast 2 4k by default would only operate at 4k 30Hz and not 60Hz. There is a few tweaks in the TV to be adjusted including enable "low latency mode" and "game mode" once enable you should be able to set the C2 to 4k 60hz. This setting in the C2 is found under the "gear" icon in upper right of the screen when using the C2.All in all the A7HAU is extremely good value for money and for a general TV for the lounge room and even with a PS5 connected to it , it does work very well. The TV tuner in the A7HAU is much better then the 7 year old Samsung it replaced. Using a powered internal antenna, "all in one SV9460 ", picked up all TV / radio channels on the A7HAU with ease.Bottom line is , if you're expecting OLED quality picture , then you need to get an OLED screen. However, for what it is the A7HAU is still extremely good and if your on a tight budget, it's hard to go past this unit and with a few small tweaks you can improve this TV picture significantly.

I bought this TV a few months ago as well as a Klipsch soundbar. I was told by the salesman that this is a great combo for the price, and you can’t go past the Hisense TVs for warranty, picture quality and bang for buck. What he neglected to tell me is that there is a software issue with the Hisense TVs where the ARC consistently disconnects. Meaning the sound bar/Xbox/any external device hooked up through the HDMI (ARC) will randomly and consistently disconnect itself and then reconnect itself. I’ve tried everything possible, including getting a professional in to try and figure it out, and nothing can be done. Fantastic image quality and features.

The standard out is the QLED image quality, when viewing 4K Dolby Vision and HDR material which shows incredible detail. It competes with more expensive TVs.The trade off is quite a narrow viewing angle and very tinny speakers, to the point they are almost unbearable. (had to buy a sound bar, which cost more than the TV). However the image quality more than offsets this.eARC HDMI, Dolby Atmos sound are also great to have. The upscaling to 4k is also very good on 1080p material. One other negative is there is no easy access to your TV favourites, it is the very last option after all the other channel genre types which you have to tediously scroll through. The redeeming feature is the almost bezel less frame which makes it look modern from the front (just don't look from the side). You buy this TV for the image quality, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, eARC HDMI and thin bezel and sheer value for money. However you'll need to get a soundbar.

Good TV until you connect a Samsung soundbar
23 February 2023

I bought this TV knowing very well that it is a relatively small TV. The picture is excellent but the sound is as would be expected from small speakers. So I bought Samsung Q600B sound bar to increase the sound. And that’s when the problems began. The TV works with the soundbar until you turn it off. Then, it will refuse to pass sound through the soundbar via the eARC connection. I thought it was a soundbar issue and spent about an hour with Samsung who updated my soundbar software, tried various settings and options, and finally they gave up. They advised me to check with Hisense about what could be wrong.I couldn’t lug the TV around but I could transport the soundbar. I contacted Hisense but it was days before someone replied and asked me to call them back. I don’t hold much hopes of any success there either. The TV also doesn’t accept VIDAA credentials. Finally, it doesn’t show up on casting options. If I knew all these issues were going to plague this TV, I would have never bought it. The reviews online state good things about it. Unfortunately specific issues such as the above aren’t usually commonly discussed, nor could I be expected to find them prior to purchase.

Great 85 inch TV for the price
1 December 2022

We looked at the various options for an 85 inch TV and it was a tossup between the Hisense 85A7H and 85U7H models. In the end, with Black Friday sales on, we decided to save $800 and buy the A7H series. The U7H series is a better picture when the two are put side by side, and if you have the money burning a hole on your pocket then get the U7H, but the A7H is still a great TV for the money. The VIDAA OS gets some criticism for its lack of flexibility compared to Google TV but it has most popular apps built in (Paramount+ the only notable exception) and is a very fast OS. It has an instant turn on time, something I haven't seen since the era of smart TVs started. Until this tv, I was a fan of anything I could put in a cabinet and close away when not in use as I don't think electronic appliances attractive or serve as furniture. Moreover, they can suck up everyone's attention so they stop interacting healthily with each other in communal living areas. Having recently reclaimed a small den in my apt from my mother's belongings, I had headed into Good Guys for a 40" Hisense on special, which to my mind was quite big enough for a games room (scrabble, backgammon, rummikub, etc.) and mini library/reading room. Besides which, I had a gift card that meant I only had to outlay 45% of costs. However, my partner loathed it. Besides which, I had a gift card that meant I only had to outlay 45% of costs. However, my partner loathed it. Two hours later, after signing up for AGL (additional $200 credit) and my partner also contributing to costs, I walked out the owner of this 65" Hisense TV. My love couldn't understand my complete lack of excitement... to my mind it was way too big. But at least I could close the den door so I wouldn't have to look at it all the time.Just two weeks in and I have to say the den has become one of favourite rooms to hang out in when I'm in the mood for entertainment. The TV, which is pretty easy to set up and navigate, takes up most of the back wall so it's as if I have my own mini home cinema. The sound is good. The picture is crystal clear. The set is heavy enough that it's sturdy (need two to move it, and don't touch the screen). It has a 3-year warranty. Just be aware that films don't always fit the entire screen, so you sometimes have a pretty unnoticeable black border top and bottom (e.g. Netflix). In any case, I now really enjoy my den and friends love coming over to watch movies or listen to music videos while playing games with me after dinner. Who'd have thunk it. I would definitely recommend this TV. And I can still close the door so it's not the central focus of the kitchen, living, and dining area. Yay.

I purchased my Hisense 43A7HAU on 5-9-22 and am extremely happy with my choice & the price was very reasonable too. It took me all of 5 minutes to unpack and set-up all the cables which are very easy to install. The picture quality is truly amazing with intense crisp depth and quality. Everything looks like it's happening in real life. The graphics whilst playing my X-Box is out of this world. The sound quality, in my opinion, is better than going to the cinema's. I don't even need a sound bar like I had on my old TV.Then there is the pre-installed streaming apps (you can install more if you wanted too aswell) already available to start watching your favourite shows. Underwhelmed.
29 August 2022

Bought this TV partially due to the glowing reviews I’ve seen compared to the negative reviews I saw on a TCL QLED. I can see why casual watchers may enjoy this TV, but as someone who cares about picture quality when watching films, this TV really is not very good. When film bars are on screen, the horrible contrast shows and the unbearably grey bars (even in a pitch black room) distract from a generally okay picture quality. Dolby Vision HDR doesn’t help muxh either. I know I wasn’t getting OLED quality black levels, but I wish I had gotten a QLED or Crystal UHD TV instead of this one. The Hisense VIDAA interface is also not desirable compared to Google’s UI, so I’d recommend a Chromecast with Google TV, especially if you want to watch the Apple TV+ app.
