I tested them indoors on a day off, and then took them for a full day out and about, walking through stores and doing my daily wanderings that I normally would have worn the Bondi's for.I experienced just a little discomfort in my arch at the end of the day, probably because my feet aren't used to having such disciplined support. The only negative was the toe post between the big toe and long toe. It rubbed a bit abrasively on the inside and top of my feet (the right more than the left), which became irritated about 3/4 of the way through the day and left a nasty red mark. It probably would have blistered or scabbed if these were my only shoes to wear. Two days later, the mark is gone, so not a huge deal... but enough to drop a star from the review. These are what they say they are: recovery shoes, not intended for daily use. I could see wearing them at home after kicking off the socks and Bondi's, and on days off when I'm not planning a lot of walking or activities. But definitely not for everyday wear due to the irritation from the material's edge on the toe post.Hoka, if you're listening, maybe consider a softer material or round out the toe post more so it's not so abrasive.

I would buy men's style instead.....

I am a Hoka woman. I've been wearing the recovery flip flops for a long while now. But it wasn't until now that I discovered there is a difference comfort-wise in the men's and women's style. The women's style has a ribbon connected(sewn in) to a leather piece to go between the toes. After awhile wearing these I got terrible blisters and sores around the toes. Since I had worn them I didn't return them. Instead I went back online to check the men's. They have one solid piece going in between the toes!! I never noticed this before. So I bought them. Same color and style! Why cause women discomfort? I have been wearing this type of sandal for 60 years!!!

I have HOKA walking shoes and they are amazing! I bought my wife a paid of slides which she absolutely loves. I tried to get myself a paid in the Blue/Red color scheme and they were out so I purchased the ORA FLIP. The sole is great. The fit is great and support is great BUT the strap that connects the top to the sole and sits between your is made of a rough material and has causes much irritation. I even tried buying "toe protectors" but they do stick. It's a bummer because I was really looking forward to wearing these at the pool this year and I doubt I will use them much, if at all.

Most comfortable shoes ever! Will defiantly buy again!
10 June 2024

I normally wear a size 12 in every shoe, but the strap broke after only wearing these a couple of times. I sent them back within the first 30 days with no issues. I tried a size 13 and I've been wearing them now for a year. One flip flop is starting to show some wear on one of the straps, but I can still wear them. I wear these shoes every day. They are by far the most comfortable pair of flip flops I have ever worn. These are more comfortable to me than the Hoka tennis shoes I have. I am about to buy my second pair of these flip flops. I highly recommend them to anyone. I don't even like wearing any of my other brands of flip flops because none of them come anywhere close to these in comfort.

Most comfortable soles ever, but cheap construction
26 June 2024

Runner who swears by Hoka Bondi shoes....I bought in March 2024, and I suffer from plantar fasciitis in both feet and have a lot of mileage on my feet. I've tried about a dozen different brands and styles of sandals looking for something with arch support that's also comfortable. These are without a doubt the most comfortable flip flops I've ever had.The rub is they're cheaply made. The top strap which is properly snug at first stretches out quickly. Within 2 months the backing of the strap started to separate from the main front portion bunching and causing rubbing. Now, just over 3 months into owning these the strap is ripping down the middle.I adore how these feel on my feet but for this price, I'd expect them to last more than 3.5 months. I also live in Buffalo NY, it's not like they've been used daily for that time span lol. They basically lasted the spring and are now shot. The soles are still perfect and super comfy, but these things just don't last. I'd give 5 stars on the soles and -1 star on the straps since they didn't even make it through a Buffalo Spring and summer... I still have 3 year old pairs of a rival brand which aren't as comfortable but also aren't ripping, sadly I'm going back to them.I will try Hoka again for the next generation to see if they got it right because I can't oversell how much I LOVE the soles.Super 😞, I love my Hoka running shoes, and these are half perfect and half disaster.

I bought the men's ORA because I read reviews that mentioned the men & women's versions being essentially the same shoe, but that the reviewers felt like the thong had been adjusted to make the women's shoe more aesthetically pleasing - which created blisters and an awkward fit.I loved the support and cushion of the sole. But that strap destroyed the tops of my feet. It's not even an issue of placement as much as it is material - it's plastic-ey and slick. I wore the flip flops about a quarter of a mile last week to walk the dog and I still have cuts across the tops of my toes. Cuts. There were blisters too, but the cuts are still healing. If I could attach a pic, I would. The sizing was fine, the support was great, but the straps - Lord have mercy, the straps were ... MoreI bought the men's ORA because I read reviews that mentioned the men & women's versions being essentially the same shoe, but that the reviewers felt like the thong had been adjusted to make the women's shoe more aesthetically pleasing - which created blisters and an awkward fit.I loved the support and cushion of the sole. Big fan of the Oofos sandals, as well as my Hoka running shoes. Thought maybe the Hoka sandal would be a good compliment to my Oofos. Turned out to be wrong. The Hoka sandal had a footbed that felt like stepping on hard plastic. The strap was so raised up that it was a struggle to keep the sandal on my foot.Maybe I got a bad sample. Maybe I am not in line with the purpose of this sandal. But it took me less than 5 minutes of walking around my house to decide these were going back.Super uncomfortable and cannot imagine wearing them around town.

Plenty of pleasure, and pain.

Couldn't wait to get these recover flips especially from HOKA! Unfortunately, the think straps will eventually rub on your index toe right in the crease where it starts to get thicker. Wish they made the skinny part of thong a little longer or didn't make it so thick so soon. Like I said the cushion you get with these flops are phenomenal, but then again plan on squeaking around wearing these. There beautiful, and keep wearing in hopes on them breaking in we're the thing doesn't rub, seems to be working, but now it's like walking with ducks on my feet. I hope they remake these! There are definitely updates to be made. Probably going back to my traditional flops. Less cushion, but no squeaking nor irritation/rubbing on fragile toe skin from thong.

Recovery Flip
13 May 2024

The recovery flip is probably the most comfortable flip that I've ever worn. My only complaint is that the upper straps are too loose which makes it hard for them to stay on while walking in them. Is there a way to tighten them up? I'm hoping that I will get an answer to that question from HOKA. So, for now I can only wear them around my house. Because there's nothing worse than having your shoes/flip flops etc slipping off while wearing them. For that reason alone I would not buy another pair. And I'm sorry that I bought them to begin with.

These are NOT Men's Sizes
9 July 2024

These are listed as MENS shoes. They are not, as men's shoes are D Width. These are just barely wide enough to be a B Width which is a Narrow for men. Since I'm cursed with wide feet and need a D Width, these are too narrow. They're narrow with extra long straps. I feel misled, and am so frustrated with this misinformation and/or lack of information. I searched and searched and couldn't find measurements for these flips posted anywhere. These are Unisex but nowhere is that indicated. Now I'm out all this money when it could've been avoided by being honest and putting the measurements in the description. How difficult is that to do?
