We moved on to use the secondary attachment that came with the vacuum. After a couple of months the same thing happened. At this point our warranty was up. Our vacuum is now useless and Hoover customer service was absolutely no help, despite the fact that the majority of the issues happened while under warranty. Given the price of the vacuum I would expect a much better product and customer service that actually helps customers.

One feature that I really like is the ability to remove the dust canister to empty it, separating from the main unit so that you don't have to try to awkwardly handle the entire unit while dumping the canister contents into the trash. Again, a versatile and powerful unit that will quickly clean up almost any mess stylishly and easily.

Overall, I guess this is ok. I can't compare the suction to other cordless vacuums since I don't have any. It does a reasonable job, and the battery lasts long enough to do a floor in our house, but I think you have to treat this as a 'light duty' vacuum. I vacuumed up some dry wall dust & other construction debris (renovation in progress), and I think that broke it. The third time I went use it, the power brushes would not turn. I contacted customer support, and after following their instructions they sent me a whole new vacuum (not just the defective part). I'll treat the new one a little more gently. On the plus side, it works well for what it does. One thing they didn't mention is that the power head swivels from side to side. This makes getting into corners ... MoreOverall, I guess this is ok. They have designed a clever way to remove pet hair from the power brush. You pop out the brush, then use scissors (following the guide lines in the brush) to cut the hair, then you can pull it out. Nice touch.

Major flaws

Opening up the box, this was very simple to put together without the use of instructions. It only has a handful of pieces that easily snap together. My immediate reaction was how topheavy it is- and NOT freestanding on it's own, which is a slight disappointment. This seems to be the norm with cordless stick vacuums. I do wish they'd find a way to allow them to stand, so you don't have to prop them up against a wall and hope they don't fall when moving something n the midst of vacuuming, picking up a toy you don't want sucked up, etc. After using this for some time, I can say that it certainly is not my favorite vacuum. Here are my main thoughts: I love that it is cordless and can't imagine plugging a vacuum into a wall after using this, but the battery life doesn't ... MoreOpening up the box, this was very simple to put together without the use of instructions. Here are my main thoughts: I love that it is cordless and can't imagine plugging a vacuum into a wall after using this, but the battery life doesn't last very long and it's a bit annoying to always be charging this. It only comes with one battery, so you can't be charging one and using one- and they are VERY expensive to purchase from Hoover. It isn't easy to empty. We have a home full of pets so this very quickly gets filled up with hair, and it's not as simple as just opening the base and dumping it out. I have to reach my hand in and pull clumps of hair from the tiny crevices of the device. The topheaviness is really an issue. I can't tell you how many times I've propped this up against the wall, only for it to fall and scare everyone in the house to bits. Has an "extra" suction feature that is so loud its unbearable to use. There is truly no need for the volume to be amplified by 20 when using this feature. After only using for a few months, the bottom brush/roller is so tangled in hair that I need to take a pair of scissors to it soon, but am dreading it. I wish it sucked up this hair rather than tangling it in the roller. All in all, it gets the job done, but in your search for the perfect vacuum to spend your hard earned money on, I'd pass this one up.

The interchangeable batteries, the many attachments and the light weight of this vacuum is the only positives. This is my first cordless vacuum so I am not an expert but this is my observations after 1.5 months of using it. While I will say the hard floor power head works great for exactly that I must say the multi surface power head is terrible. After vacuuming a single 5’x7’ rug, the light goes red, the roller stops, and it needs to be cleaned. It’s not like we have a lot of hair in our house, just myself and my partner, as our dog does not shed at all. To clarify it comes with two full sized motor heads. One for hard floors (this one is great and hair doesn’t get caught in it at all) and one for carpet and hard floors (this multipurpose one gets a lot of hair ... MoreThe interchangeable batteries, the many attachments and the light weight of this vacuum is the only positives. If we hadn’t bought this vacuum on sale 50% off I would be quite upset. This vacuum feels very cheaply made. If you are looking for a cheap vacuum for hard floors then this one will do a decent job. But as for carpet this one isn’t the one.

We bought this Hoover vacuum a couple of months ago when Hoovers in-store marketing people were at our local Canadian Tire store. They did a good job of selling me on the features and performance of this Hoover vacuum. Unfortunately, it's not measuring up to their sales pitch. Three months on and I wish I hadn't listened to them. Battery life is about half of what they say, and if the battery isn't full you'll know immediately as dirt will take three or four passes to pick up. The container on the unit is really narrow inside and hard to clean properly. Absolutely terrible for hard surfaces, and only mediocre on rugs. I'm spending more time than ever with a vacuum in my hand They recommended this for pet owners and I can honestly say, the very cheap Shark vacuum ... MoreWe bought this Hoover vacuum a couple of months ago when Hoovers in-store marketing people were at our local Canadian Tire store. This is my second stick vacuum, and my first cordless. The battery drains very quickly, possibly because I have to use the boost function to have this vacuum do what it’s supposed to. I’ve only used it four times, and will be returning it. I noticed after the first use that it wasn’t suctioning as well as my last stick vacuum, but I figured it’s not fair to compare a battery run vacuum to a corded one, and I love not having the cord!! The battery needs a full charge after I’m done vacuuming my 530ft apartment, which is carpeted. The tank needs to be emptied after each use, as vacuumed particles get stuck in the entrance (so to speak) and don’t end up filling the entire dirt cup. The vacuum looks nice, is easy to maneuver, the dirt cup is easy to remove and empty, the suction intensity seems to work better on non carpeted floors. In my opinion, this vacuum is not worth the price, even when on sale.

I've taken this vacuum apart too many times now to try and repair it myself because getting any support from Hoover is just about impossible. The vacuum itself works well, and I've been happy with its cleaning capabilities, but the overall quality and support is dismal.

Underwhelming

After about a month, I'm not terribly impressed. The suction is a bit weak, unless you put it on the power boost mode. The bucket is pretty small, so it needs to be emptied and cleaned often. The attachments do not release or reattach very easily (not nearly as easily as a my former stick vac.), making switching attachments a real pain. The wall-mount bracket that holds it is made of plastic and seems pretty flimsy. Even with an ideal installation (plywood wall instead of drywall, leveled perfectly) I don't expect it to last more than a few months. I'm already trying to think of how I will mount it when the original one breaks. LOL! It is easy to clean, saves space, and the battery lasts as long as advertised (so far). I didn't see anything about not using a surge protector in the guide. Long story short, be prepared to be underwhelmed.

Go the old fashioned way and get yourself an upright vacuum cleaner. Your floors, allergies, and lungs will thank you!
