After 2 weeks of use, I began to smell plastic burning. A closer examination revealed the brush roll was overheating at the belt pulley. This is simply a poor design; engineered without bearings strictly to save money. Not that it really mattered, because before I could contact customer service to look into filing a warranty claim, the battery quit charging. Thankfully, I remembered the store I bought it from has a 30-day return policy. I'd much rather get my money back and buy another brand.I should have known by reading the reviews that Hoover no longer manufacturers a reliable product. There's no excuse for making trash like this.

I used this vacuum maybe a total 6 times; light use in my approx. 750 sq ft apartment, on vinyl floors and low pile carpet. Nothing heavy-duty or unusual. After the 3rd use, the brush head was making a screeching sound and the spin action was getting delayed. Took it all apart to make sure there was nothing blocking it. By the 6th use I started to smell a burning smell. Looked at the side panel of the brush head and there was a melted indentation of the brush head’s motor. Screwed off the side panel and the motor was all torn up; confirmed: it had burned into the plastic. Clearly there isn’t enough space in the side panel between the motor and the plastic cover, as there is evident friction between the two. Can no longer use the brush head as it’s irreparably ... MoreI used this vacuum maybe a total 6 times; light use in my approx. 750 sq ft apartment, on vinyl floors and low pile carpet. I was initially satisfied with this vacuum and it worked well for the first few months. The power brush started making a grinding noise and I've discovered that the plastic holding the brush as it spins is wearing away. It won't last long. We mostly have hardwood and tile floors with two area rugs. It should not be wearing out this quickly! The battery life is good but I don't like having to remove it every time to charge it. It's difficult to switch between attachments in terms of getting them pulling them out of the base to switch them- they always seem stuck. I do plan on contacting the company to see if they have any solutions.I had a Dyson V7 for almost 10 years that we still use. I regret not sticking with the more expensive vacuum if this is what I get for ... MoreI was initially satisfied with this vacuum and it worked well for the first few months. The Hoover Onepwr Blade plus 2 is a convenient and powerful cordless hand held vacuum cleaner that's been designed to perform a number of tasks. The unit also has a couple of features that make life simpler.Although not as powerful as my large roll-around, I can pick up the Hoover Onepwr off the convenient wall mounted storage unit and get to cleaning up instantly, especially between the big cleanups when i use my full sized unit. The Hoover arrived with 2 batteries so that the Onepwr can be in use instantly, not having to drag out the plug-in unit, which is a great convenience, in between major cleanups. I had the provided storage rack up on the wall in minutes, it has storage for all the attachments as well as the vacuum itself. I had the provided storage rack up on the wall in minutes, it has storage for all the attachments as well as the vacuum itself. The Onepwr comes with a crevice tool as well as a dust brush and upholstery brush which fit snugly to the hand held unit or onto the extension pole that allows you to stand upright as you are cleaning with the lighted, multi surface, spinning head floor nozzle and carpet beater. The Hoover runs for just over one half hour, for each battery, giving over an hour of total cleaning time available continuously. A convenient charger is provided to keep your batteries always ready. One feature that I really like is the ability to remove the dust canister to empty it, separating from the main unit so that you don't have to try to awkwardly handle the entire unit while dumping the canister contents into the trash.Again, a versatile and powerful unit that will quickly clean up almost any mess stylishly and easily.
The interchangeable batteries, the many attachments and the light weight of this vacuum is the only positives. This is my first cordless vacuum so I am not an expert but this is my observations after 1.5 months of using it.While I will say the hard floor power head works great for exactly that I must say the multi surface power head is terrible. After vacuuming a single 5’x7’ rug, the light goes red, the roller stops, and it needs to be cleaned. It’s not like we have a lot of hair in our house, just myself and my partner, as our dog does not shed at all.To clarify it comes with two full sized motor heads. But as for carpet this one isn’t the one.
If you're like me and buy stuff regardless of the negative reviews because you say "everyone's different and has different expectations" and you buy the thing anyway, hoping that yours will be like 60% of the wonderful reviews, then this review is for you.Seriously, do not buy this - not worth the price. My shark rocket had better suction than this.I wanted the hassle free, cordless vacuum, with great suction and long battery life so I could happily vacuum my house because it's constantly dusty because of my two dogs, and I was tired of moving from outlet to outlet to plug in my vacuum. What I bought wasn't that. The most annoying thing of all is if I use the floor attachment, but I want to quickly do the hard to reach corners and crevasses, I can't just remove the attachment and go for it - I have to put another attachment, or else the tube won't suck (or barely).Very disappointed in mine. I would change it immediately if it didn't cost me as much.
We bought this Hoover vacuum a couple of months ago when Hoovers in-store marketing people were at our local Canadian Tire store. They did a good job of selling me on the features and performance of this Hoover vacuum.Unfortunately, it's not measuring up to their sales pitch.Three months on and I wish I hadn't listened to them.Battery life is about half of what they say, and if the battery isn't full you'll know immediately as dirt will take three or four passes to pick up.The container on the unit is really narrow inside and hard to clean properly.Absolutely terrible for hard surfaces, and only mediocre on rugs.I'm spending more time than ever with a vacuum in my handThey recommended this for pet owners and I can honestly say, the very cheap Shark ... MoreWe bought this Hoover vacuum a couple of months ago when Hoovers in-store marketing people were at our local Canadian Tire store. This is my second stick vacuum, and my first cordless. The battery drains very quickly, possibly because I have to use the boost function to have this vacuum do what it’s supposed to.I’ve only used it four times, and will be returning it. I noticed after the first use that it wasn’t suctioning as well as my last stick vacuum, but I figured it’s not fair to compare a battery run vacuum to a corded one, and I love not having the cord!!The battery needs a full charge after I’m done vacuuming my 530ft apartment, which is carpeted. The tank needs to be emptied after each use, as vacuumed particles get stuck in the entrance (so to speak) and don’t end up filling the entire dirt cup.The crevice tool which I use often, is quite wobbly when in use.The vacuum looks ... MoreThis is my second stick vacuum, and my first cordless. I've had 2 Hoover lynx cordless vacuums that I loved. They weren't available and mine needed a new battery which is almost as much as a new vacuum. So I purchased the one power. It does not have near the power that the lynx had. It does not pick up even the smallest particles of rice, gravelly bits, dirt etc. fine for pet fur but that's about it. I have a small main floor of approximately 600 square feet, if I rush I can get the whole area before the battery dies. Then I have to wait till it charges to do my upstairs, which again I have to rush before the battery dies. I like having the extra tools, and the low swivel is great. But overall it's definitely not worth the money. The Hoover lynx was by far a better vacuum!
At first I thought I really liked this vacuum. However, after a little over a year, both batteries would not hold a charge. The company sent me two replacement batteries and they have both held up. A couple months after that, something in the head of the vacuum broke. It does not suck up debris and it makes a loud noise. I know it is something with the head of the vacuum because when I take off that attachment and use a smaller precision attachment, it does not make that sound. I couldn’t go without my weekly vacuuming, so I borrowed my parents corded big clunky vacuum..and let me tell you.. I have vacuumed my floors three times and counting and have needed to empty their canister 5 times!! Even when I thought this Hoover vacuum was working, it clearly was not. I was disgusted how much per hair, dust, and debris the big clunky corded vacuum picked up. The stick vacuums are convenient in motion and size, but those are the only good qualities. Go the old fashioned way and get yourself an upright vacuum cleaner. Your floors, allergies, and lungs will thank you!
