Hoya 72mm Pro ND EX 8 Filter
The Hoya ND 8 reduces light by an equivalent of 3 stops. Neutral density filters (ND filters) are among the most sought-after and important types of photographic filters for several reasons. For photographers, ND filters provide precise control over the amount of light entering the lens, allowing for greater creative control over exposure. For video content creators, ND filters are very helpful in setting shutter speeds to match frame rates while maintaining the depth of field of the footage. Hoya offers a unique and extensive range of ND filters embedded in the PROND series for both photographers and filmmakers. PROND filters utilize Hoya's clear optical glass, mounted in a lightweight, precisely crafted aluminum frame. The frame features a front filter thread, allowing you to attach additional filters or a lens cap. Thanks to the leading ACCU-ND technology, the image is not negatively affected by color shifts that can occur due to inferior materials, poor quality control during manufacturing, or issues with the infrared range of the light spectrum. With Hoya's exclusive ACCU-ND technology, a uniform reduction of light in the visible and IR spectrum is achieved. As a result, photographers need not worry about color shifts when using Hoya ND filters under various shooting conditions.

Excellent filter. Does everything as promised and then you need to do the work to get the right image, as expected. No issues looking through viewfinder - sun is the only thing visible, just protect your other eye! With so many stops in reduced light, can be difficult to adjust to light cloud cover, but filter does very well.

More affordable than B+W; has the middle of ranges number of multicoating. It cuts light and it is not rocket science. Buy this.

I bought this because shooting log mode on a Canon R6 means a native ISO of 800 and this will be enough to shoot at that for a cloudy day or in the shade at f/5.6. I haven't used it for stills yet so I can't comment on the image quality aspect of it; for video, I did not notice any degradation.

Highly recommended. I spent a good while researching ND filters ...
Excellent filter but not for anyone with stiff or arthritic fingers.
I'm very happy with the Hoya Prond EX 64 Glass/Aluminum Filter 6-Stop 67mm. It came packaged well protected and works perfectly. No smudges or scratches.
The Hoya Pro ND EX 8 is an exceptional three stop ND filter. I could not be happier. It has perfect color and clarity with zero warm color shift. I use mine primarily for soft water work. This is not a low-profile filter so keep that in mind if you use ultra-wide lenses. For low profile go with the Hoya HD MK II IR ND line.
Relly a versitile filter. Mainly the motion needed for good water movement is the 6x. For me anyway. A Big Stopper at 10x is just too much for good water movement .....for most of what I shoot.
I have so many of these and I'm not going to write yet another detailed review. I love Hoy filters and I use them whenever one of them meets my needs.
