The X-Cut chain effectively gives my 440 10% more power. It stays tight on the bar/doesn't stretch like the old Husqvarna chain did. And it seems to stays sharp longer in clean wood. I like it better than Oregon chain.I bought the S83G for my 455, but I can't tell much difference because it pulls like a Cummins Diesel compared to the 6 cylinder gas 440.There's another review here by some jeanyus who's chain came off & got dinged on the chain catcher, like it tends to do. Now it won't fit right. He blames the chain , bar, fit, design, hearts, moons, stars and blue diamonds for his operator error. Ignore his 3 star review.

After using this X-Cut chain for a few hours on a bluff remediation project, removing invasive species from the bluff side. My power head is a 440e II with an 18 inch guide bar. Admittedly, this work is VERY hard on chains, involving sweeping from side to side, the area had deep snow - mineral contact is NOT an issue. After a couple of file touch-ups during the day, including tightenings - the chain skipped the guide bar. I immediately stopped the power head. After checking the chain, I found it [chain] to be nearly unsalvageable due to burrs that formed on the drive links. This chain initially did NOT fit easily onto this configuration of bar and head. My guess is that the drive sprocket is slightly different on this head and might be 'eating' the drive links. ... Perhaps the 0.05" steel is soft or just not robust enough. Therefore - KEEP THIS CHAIN TIGHT!

Good luck trying to match the item number like S33g to the sharpening instructions in the provided instructions. The numbers inside the instructions are totally different than the item number. Contacted support and they try to sell me a sharpening kit. Useless. I will never ever buy Husqvarna crap again.

Had to replace the chain for my Husqvarna 435 chainsaw because I wrecked the original on some barbed wire. Watched videos showing this chain is better and faster cutting than many other competitors. Think I will stick with the Husqvarna x cut also
I have a 450-Rancher with a 20" X-Force bar and SP33G X-Cut chain. I used the chainsaw for the first time yesterday and for a while it was pretty much cutting like a beast! I did get the chain caught a couple of times on a tree which probably loosened it a little and the chain ended up skipping off of the bar and close to half of the drive links got nicked up to where they wouldn't fit the bar correctly. After close to three hours of working the nicks out of the drive links to where they would fit the bar properly again, I was finally able to get the chainsaw running. Pulaskimik1 is correct...if you end up not keeping the chain tight, you'll run the risk of the chain jumping the bar. I've already had a backup on order from Lowe's, just in case something like this ... MoreI have a 450-Rancher with a 20" X-Force bar and SP33G X-Cut chain. These chains do a good job, however I used one on a Hackberry tree. No metal was in the trunk of the tree. Immediately 6 of the teeth were completely eaten up on a brand new chain. This caused the chain saw to start jerking severely. I quickly stopped the chainsaw and noticed the teeth where gone. I am wondering if the chain was like this right out of the package. I could not find the remains of them.
I Just bought this 450 Rancher saw with the 20" blade due to the lightweight and power it boasts but, you would think the chain would last more then one time slipping off?But that was not the case with the one i bought! This saw had less then a facecord of wood cut,and boom a limb touches the top side of the blade chain, and it slipped off. then "pow" .... hits the bottom chain stopper.Well needless to say the chain stopper works but the underside that sits in the blade rails got flatened so darn it. As i bought this with no extra chain! who does that ... .. so can not finish the cut , and can't get the chain back into the rail of the bar....so i need a new chain ! yippy ....while a trip to the store and $36 later and 5 minutes putting it on. i'm back cutting ! ... All in All love the power this saw has its great have not bogged it down yet other then the one little hick-up at the begining haha but its a great machine. Ive been running it for 7 hours straight right out of the box .... stopped it 10+ times and it started 3rd pull almost everytime 1/4 of the times it took it 6 or 7 times pulling not sure why ? .... it also wont stay running for long at a idle "might be to save on gas"? but (Would I Buy This Saw Again)? yes in a heart skippin beat! (I would ) so it leaves me to this the only reason for leaving 4 stars . it was due to chain durability (cheap metal?)possibly but I dont know the teeth seem to hold sharpness really well, i cut about 1 and a 1/2 cord maybe more with 2 chains! one being shot in only 1hr or less but hey "IT HAPPINGS" ..All in All the 2nd blade still feels sharp after doing the grunt work for the first one ....and this saw powers through wood with ease . couldnt be happier with the my purchase!
I purchased this looking for a good yellow semi chisel chain, this was all they had and I admittedly was very reluctant as I normally despise green chain.Well let me tell you, I've used nearly every chain there is over the last 20yrs and for a green semi chisel this is absolutely amazing chain. I'm certain you have never seen anything like it, holds an edge, cuts like its a yellow full chisel and is just amazing for what it is. If you want a chain that cuts amazing short of full chisel this is it. Buy a loop u won't regret it.
I stumbled across this product while shopping in Lowes to replace the old 18” chainsaw blades for my Husqvarna 445 and 450. Right off, I noticed this product was roughly $10 higher than the traditional Husqvarna blade, and I was a little skeptical the product would be worth the additional cost. I am happy to say that since purchasing this product, I wouldn’t want to use any other chainsaw blade on the market. The X-cut holds a sharp edge longer, stretches less and shows less wear. A vast majority of the wood I cut is green or season oak wood, and the the X-cut cuts through it with ease. I have and will continue to recommend this product!
I am not a professional, but I am a VERY Serious wood cutter (clearing land and fire wood) always looking for the best products - not the best price. I used to use Stihl chains because of the oil groves in the drive links which helped keep them from stretching and they hold there edge well. This x-cut chain has this grove and quality metal which keeps it sharp, it doesn't drag but still has good kick back protection,, doesn't stretch, files easily. I prefer the semi chisel cutter in dirty wood and the full chisel in frozen wood and I can get either in the x-cut. a quality product at a fair price - worth it.
