My 3yr. old tabby male cat enjoyed this variety of Iams cat food geared towards keeping his urinary tract healthy. He is both an inside and outside cat. He spends all night outside, so he may not always drink enough water. This cat food will help to keep his urine PH normal thus preventing problems with his urinary tract in the future. Any cat food that helps reduce illness for my cat is a bonus. I recommend this cat food.

I was interested to try this food for two reasons; 1. In the past, I’ve had cats with urinary tract issues and their current food is expensive 2. My cats are fussy eaters and I wasn’t sure how they would react. I did a test with their current food, IAMS urinary tract food and IAMS healthy adult. My grey one loved the Urinary Tract food. The Orange one prefers the health adult food. Both were more than willing to eat both of them if I took the options away. That’s a win in my books. I’ll update in a couple weeks and see how healthy their coats looks.

Bladder Stones

I have been feeding all of my cats Iams Urinary Tract formula dry cat food for more than a year now. Iams claims this food promotes urinary tract health by lowering the PH level of the urine, which is suppose to prevent the formation of crystals. I started giving this food to my cats after one of my cats (Spaz) suffered a partial blockage caused by crystals. Spaz has had no further issues, however, another cat (my Marcus), that had no issues before, just required surgery to remove multiple stones (not just crystals, but large stones) from his bladder. Stones form when crystals clump together. It’s my understanding, from what I have read, that this occurs when urine PH is too low. CONTROLS urinary crystals! Cats love the taste!

I had 2 cats with chronic urinary tract issues that was causing extreme weight loss and other health issues. The vet was going to cost in the $100's of dollars including a potential surgery. He recommended trying this first for 30 days and see if there was any improvement.In 30 days, there was a major improvement and by 60 days the cats were both healthy and back to their normal weight.They love this food and I give them a little canned food every day too. They have been on this food for over a year now and they are both very healthy.If you have a cat who is having trouble urinating, take them to the vet to make sure of the what their problem is first, and also switch them to this food exclusively. This really helped both of my male cats and the extra expense of the food was nothing compared to the treatments that would have been required.Obviously if you have a cat in serious condition, take them to the vet immediately. But if you have a cat who is eating normally and having trouble urinating, this product can literally be a life-saver.

Diarrhea. Yay.

I was hoping that my cat with bladder issues would be able to keep symptoms at bay with this and that it would prevent issues in the other. I fed them less than tablespoon a day to slowly transition and they both got horrible diarrhea in less than a week. Never had this issue with switching them to new dry foods. They usually take right away with no issues when I give them more natural brands with smaller ingredients lists and less additives. Went on a new dry food after this one and all is fine with even higher amounts of it from the start. Something in the ingredients of this is irritating to cats guts. Not buying any of their products again. Be careful transitioning to this especially if your cats were eating a more natural grain free diet before.

My cat love Iams as treats - good urinary food too

My boy cat started having urinary track problems when he was about 3 years old. Now he eats the urinary track varieties from Iams and Science Diet. No more urinary problems since I changed his diet from only regular Iams.He gets a small finger cup full of Iams as a treat from my hand each morning and night. He loves them as treats but gets the Science Diet as the main course.It has helped him keep his weight down also by having Iams as the treat instead of the main course. It is so good to have Iams in the urinary tract variety.

My fat cat loves this food!

Fatty Patty had been urinating in my hallway and I was told that it could be due to a UTI and pain. My neighbors cat had done the same thing so they replaced their cat food with the Purina One Urinary Tract Health. I tried it for my kitty but she wouldn’t touch it. It’s not going to work if they won’t eat it. I decided to change again and found the IAMS brand urinary tract health which had chicken as the first ingredient. My kitty LOVES it. She doesn’t use the bathroom in my hallway anymore and she seems to be acting more like a kitty than a 6 year old.

No more UTI's for my girl kitty

So my girl kitty, Darla kept getting UTIs. The veterinarian wrote prescriptions for Hills and Purina Pro Plan veterinary UTI dry and wet cat foods. Those dry cat foods cost considerably more, but Darla did not like them. So then I bought both Purina One UTI and Iams UTI proactive health dry cat food. So my kitty Darla really likes to eat Iam's UTI Proactive Health. The veterinarian said to feed this to my other three cats as well. So Darla has not had any more UTI's.

Yummy

I have 4feral cats. One of these has been diagnosed with kidney stones, so we had to switch to a urinary track food. There is no way to separate that one cat, so everyone gets the same food. The cats hated and refused to eat for several days the expensive food from the vet. Therefore, I bought Science Diet urinary track food….one ate it. So, I tried this food after reading the reviews. They all love this food!! I’m so thankful lams is enjoyed by all!
