Saying that the Ibanez Prestige AZ2204N is a versatile solidbody electric guitar is massive understatement. Its Seymour Duncan Fortuna pickups tackle bluesy licks and metal riffage with equal aplomb, while its dyna-MIX9 switching system provides nine different pickup combinations for an endless supply of tones. It looks great as well, boasting a balanced-sounding alder body framed by an eye-catching tortoiseshell pickguard. Enjoy unprecedented comfort and stability, thanks to an ergonomic rear body contour, S-Tech roasted maple neck, and a slick-playing compound-radius rosewood fingerboard. Bend, twist, and dive-bomb with perfect intonation thanks to the AZ2204N’s Gotoh T1702 tremolo. Gotoh Magnum Lock tuners, an oil-impregnated bone nut, and luminescent side dots round out the AZ2204N’s top-shelf feature set.

The Wizard II neck is the best neck I've ever played. I guess more accurately, it's my favorite neck I've ever played. It's super thin which is perfect for my lousy short fingers. It's satin finish back is remarkably fast. Those jumbo frets give it an almost scalloped feel which lets you glide across the neck.I have an Ibanez with the Floyd Rose Tremolo and I'm just not a big fan, which is why I bought this hard tail. The bridge is very sturdy and tight. It also has a low profile and is the most comfortable bridge on which I've ever palm muted. I was surprised at this guitar's light weight but it's sustain is nonetheless phenomenal. It's sustain is truly on par with the top of the line PRS guitars. The one place this guitar suffers, and why I didn't give it a perfect ... MoreThe Wizard II neck is the best neck I've ever played. The pickups are nothing special, very middle of the road. I knew this before I bought it and had a set of DiMarzio Breeds waiting which I installed immediately. If you buy this guitar I would suggest putting in some different pickups (it's actually a pretty easy job, I'd never done it before and didn't even mess it up once.)So with the guitar at $800 and some new pickups for around $150 you get a sub $1000 guitar that is just as good OR BETTER than instruments that are literally 3 to 5 times as expensive. I'm looking at you Gibson, PRS, and even other Ibanez guitars.

This guitar rises above the 'super Strat' identifier. The playability of this instrument is incredible, especially if you are used to the neck profile of these guitars. All the standard pre-requesite Strat tones are here, instantly available for you via the 5 way switch. However, flip the dyna-MIX9 switch, and you have Tele style neck/bridge combo, the option of a neck humbucker (neck & middle PUs in series), 2 humbuckers, and bridge single coil (which I have used more than any guitar I have owned other than a Tele). The playability of this guitar is off the charts! Roasted maple neck & locking tuners keep it in tune for gigs beyond what I have seen in guitars before. This is a 'Swiss Army knife' guitar for all seeking Strat tones with harder rock edge or country ... MoreThis guitar rises above the 'super Strat' identifier. I like Ibanez and have wanted one of these since they were released. I’d already had to return one purchased from a different retailer due to sharp fret ends, bad neck angle, poorly cut nut, and poorly made case, when I ordered this one from PMT. I received this one having been assured it was in perfect condition. The scratch plate was very badly scratched up - so this was clearly not a brand new instrument. The shop are currently finding out if we can get a replacement scratch plate. There is string buzz and it looks like it needs a fret dressing to resolve this, as well as some work on re-cutting the nut. The hard case is (again) not well made - when shut, it does not shut tight, and the lid wobbles a little, and the catches open far to easily in my opinion. I ... Okay I actually sent into the store looking to buy a higher S series model and the store I went to just recieved a white version and from having a prestige and a Jem7v I gave it a try . At first glance I wasnt impressed with the new lock system but after sitting with it and realizing that the neck and overall feel was about there with my Jem I couldnt resist . I bought it . And let me tell you I have not played my other guitars .. The neck is smooth and FAST . the pickups actually were very responsive unlike alot of the S and RG which are usually very chunky and have what I feel is a buzz about them, this guitar sounds great from day one .. i wont even replace the pickups . The new way to change strings is very very user friendly and unlike the old trem not alot of ... Even though this is the lowest Prestige model it is like a gibson to me ... The worst Gibson is better than the best Epiphone .. so any S series is far below this model . The only reason not to get this is if you love the S series body .. but I am telling you go play it .. and feel the neck when your fingers touch it there is no going back .
