And it come with a basically bulletproof case all for less than £1000?? I bit their hand off!I have no affiliation with GAK. I just need you guys to know just how good this guitar really is!

Overall:I just received my Prestige but was immediately in love with it. My other guitars include a Gibson Les Paul Studio Faded and a made in Mexico Fender. This guitar is in a different realm entirely. The fit and finish is phenomenal, it sounds great, and it is extremely comfortable to play. It is much lighter than both of my other guitars and it just feels nice. The color is beautiful and the birdseye fretboard really sets it apart. This was my first order from zZounds and I couldn't be more pleased. The guitar shipped the same day I ordered it (not my usual experience with another big box I usually order from), and it arrived on the second day..just great! I'm looking forward to playing this guitar for years to come.

After really enjoying playing an RG standard at GC, I decided I wanted a Japanese Ibanez. This guitar is gorgeous. You open up the case and it's a plush red velvet contrasting perfectly with the sexy nebula green burst. It is incredibly easy to play! Has a perfect balance slung over your shoulder or resting on your thigh. They didn't cut any corners with this instrument.Pros:- Black chrome hardware looks slick- Neck very thin and flat. Not just for shredding! Strips of walnut add a touch of elegance. Satin finish makes this a fast neck. Jumbo frets feel great. The birdseye fretboard is gorgeous. Locking tuners are robust. Stays in tune like a boss!- Very clear difference in pickup output from neck to bridge. Stays in tune like a boss!- Very clear difference in pickup output from neck to bridge. Bridge gets nice and dirty when the volume is up- Pickups are a bit hotter than I expected, especially the tone zone in the bridge, but dialing down volume cleans them up very nicely (when you want them to be clean). I'm guessing the hot pickups are for shredders, who are a target Ibanez consumer. The parallel mode is a sweet addition allowing pickup to sound like a single rather than a humbucker- Pickups have dimarzio embossed on them, but it's subtle and not visible from a distance- branding isn't as obnoxious as on seymour duncans- Volume and tone knobs are knurled making them easy to turn with just a touch and resistance is light and smooth. Great gradual effect (doesn't just jump from 100% to 10% when you turn the knob only a tiny bit)- Action can be set super low and bridge is very comfortable to rest your palm. No sharp saddles as on some tune-o-matics- Amazing custom-molded guitar case that looks sexy and has a hard plastic outer shell. Form-fitted for this guitar- Guitar comes with a multi-tool with everything on it, even a short metal scaleCons:- The fret markers are just dots, not inlays- Doesn't come equipped with straplocks- Pickup selector feels cheap compared with the rest of the hardware, but has authoritative action otherwise
Pricey... but an amazing guitar. Probably the last expensive instrument I'll ever buy, but worth it. The build quality, feel, finish, and the sound are all top notch.P.S. I scored features as 4/5 for no other reason than I chose a model that was more of a plug & play hardtail style guitar. This is not a slight on the guitar though.
I’ve had a 7-string RG (not Prestige) with floating tremolo for about 20 years, and have wanted a fixed bridge six string for years but didn’t feel I play enough to justify it, since I mostly play acoustic. Finally decided to pull the trigger, and now wish I did it sooner. While a fairly basic setup (which was exactly what I wanted) this RG Prestige is incredibly well built, plays well straight out of the box, has great sustain and can generate a good variety of tones. The nebula green finish looks great in the flesh too!
Fabulous guitar! If it wasn’t for the fact that it was unplayable when I got it it would be 5 stars.Out of the box the action was well over 3mm at the 12th fret.Since having a full setup it now plays like a dream.
This is one that's very difficult to put down. QC so far has been flawless and the Dimarzio pickups sound amazing through a mesa mini rectifier. Building great lead tones is easy with pickups this dynamic and hot. I do wish the purple finish was a bit brighter on my guitar but that's easily forgettable once you pick up the guitar because before you know it, youve been playing it for the past two hours with how hard it is to put down. The only true con for me on this guitar is I wish it had stainless steel frets. The fretwork is still flawless. Definitely would recommend as a first guitar for someone with a higher budget…. and would recommend this as a workhorse for the seasoned vet. This is the real deal.
Sound:The sound quality is one of the main draws here. I played one of these in a big box store and was blown away by the tone, I came home and ordered from zZounds! The tone zone was supposedly designed for and with Eddie Van Halen, I can believe that. It has his signature aggressive yet clear tone, similar to the modern Wolfgang pup. The air Norton is also great. Ibanez, of course uses the finest tone woods on these instruments and you can tell. The sound is beefy yet clear, no mud whatsoever, unplugged this guitar rings like a bell and when playing you can feel every note resonate through the body of the guitar. It is truly remarkable.Features:I love the switching system, Ibanez figured out how to take a simple 2 pickup guitar and make it work for anything. ... MoreSound:The sound quality is one of the main draws here. It is truly remarkable.Features:I love the switching system, Ibanez figured out how to take a simple 2 pickup guitar and make it work for anything. POS 2 sounds like a strat, and pos 4 sounds like a great neck pickup, none of the wooly stuff, just smooth and fat. The locking tuners are great as well, very high quality, very smooth, string changes are a breeze.Ease of Use:Playability is 9,653/10. The thing almost plays itself. I’ve never had an instrument where EVERYTHING is so effortless. Good tone can be had simply by plugging in! You could probably plug this into your microwave and sound awesome.Quality:The quality level of this is something like I’ve never seen. The finish is 100% flawless, as expected. It came out of the case in tune, perfectly intonated, and set up. It required no adjustments except for those to set it to my preference. There’s no telling how long ago the guitar was produced, it’s been shipped from Japan, sat in warehouses, was handled by fedex, and STILL came out of the box perfect. That says a lot.Value:Price wise these are too cheap. When you look at the big G and the big F they aren’t even in the same league yet they charge more! To get anywhere near this quality you’d have to look at the American company that starts with P and ends with S with an R in the middle and those cost more than double what this one did. The other Japanese company that starts with E is also great but again, the prices are much more and I don’t feel that they really give you more than Ibanez does. Fujigen production is legendary and that is for a reason.Manufacturer Support:Have not had to contact Ibanez, why would I? They don’t make a bad product. The Wow Factor:This guitar was sort of the “dream” having a prestige previously I knew how amazing they are, could I play something else? Sure, I have and I do but there is magic in these instruments. The monster tone, the effortless playability, the gorgeous looks. It’s just everything I want in 1 package.Overall:This guitar absolutely lives up to the hype. I have owned and played more guitars, specifically Ibanez guitars over the years than I can count. This is my second prestige and I have to say that IMO nothing comes close. I’ve had many of the standard series Ibanez guitars, and axion label, and I’ve played the premium models, they are all good but the prestige is miles above all of them. The fit and finish are absolute perfection, if the big G could get close to this everyone would call it a miracle.Let’s start with sound, good grief! The tone zone pickup well, that name is accurate! It has a fury and a fuzziness that’s just great yet, it remains completely clear. I’ve played old school classic rock through drop C Metal since I’ve had it and it does everything perfectly. The air Norton at the neck is also nice, it’s velvety but has a punch. It’s slightly bassy for my taste but, it’s livable since I don’t do a lot on the neck pup anyway. The fun part is the switching system, pos 1 is full bridge, 3 is all 4 coils, and 5 is full neck, as normal. The cool part is position 2 plays the inner coils of both pups together and that produces an excellent representation of position 2 on a strat, it gets the snarl and glass of that tone just about right. So, you have a very nice single coil tone in there, position 4 puts the neck pup into parallel which is a very different sound. It’s a lot smoother and I really like it, I prefer it to the normal neck tone on this guitar. The greatest thing about the prestige line is the neck, many Ibanez guitars have thin necks but the prestige is even thinner. The super wizard HP, only available on Japanese guitars is the most comfortable and easy to play neck ever created, if you enjoy thin necks. Playability is effortless on this guitar, from chords to chugs to shred, nothing is challenging here. The guitar not only “stays out of your way” when playing it actually helps you. That’s the mark of a great guitar, it’s not something you’re thinking about while playing, it’s a tool doing its job perfectly. As far as aesthetics it’s nothing short of gorgeous. The back and sides are clear coated and have the most beautiful grain to them, the top has a wonderful grain with a sort of flame, burl, thing happening that’s hard to describe. I initially did not want the nebula green burst but now, I’m so glad I got it. The edges are a dark blue that fade into a transparent green to the center. Photos do not do one bit of justice to this finish. The weight is good, slightly heavier than expected but still feels a million pounds lighter than a LP. The case is stellar. It has the TSA locks that pop into place, 2 keys, and adequate storage space though, it could be a little more. The guitar sits down in the case like a cradle. I don’t think a bomb could move this guitar when it’s nested into the case. That’s just another amazing thing, while other brands charge hundreds more for inferior instruments and can’t even give you a case Ibanez delivers a perfect fit that will keep this guitar safe through the apocalypse. After this I don’t know that I will ever buy another brand again. Nothing else has ever come close. Since I sold my last prestige stupidly I have been chasing that ever since and now, thankfully I have it again. I’ve honestly been playing until my fingers ache since she showed up, I am in love. I will definitely buying the purple color to go with the green. Thank you as always to zZounds, their shipping speed is unmatched and the pay as you play plan has allowed me to own such and incredible instrument along with many others. I won’t take my business anywhere else they are simply the best. If I had to complain about something it would be this. 1 the volume knob is not as responsive as I would hope, I like to use the volume to control the distortion on the amp and this one has nearly no taper, on 1 you can play classic rock but on 2, you’re into 80’s shred. 2 the frets were not as finished as I would have thought, no sharp edges, no protrusions, in fact nearly perfect but, I was expecting a mirror polish on them and they didn’t have it. A minor nit picky thing but I guess I had to find a negative somewhere right?
