Icebreaker 260 Tech LS Half Zip (Women's) Black / M
The Icebreaker 260 Tech women's baselayer long-sleeved shirt offer all the natural benefits of merino wool in a versatile, comfortable design. The merino wool jersey of that baselayer insulates during cold winter days on the trail or the ski slopes, and it resists odours and breathes efficiently on runs, hikes and summer trips into the mountains. This garment is part of a layering system that provides comfort and warmth for your outdoor activities. Easy to layer, this base layer enables you to regulate your body temperature by wicking moisture away. This onion layering system is made of three types of clothing. The first layer, worn next-to-skin will provide warmth and quickly move moisture away from your skin. Then, the second layer, is the insulation or fleece, that provides warmth while also dissipating heat during periods of high output. And finally, the third layer, the shell, which is the most weather-protective layer, worn on the outside of all other layers.

Just purchased two of these in the most amazing rich, shimmery gold color. (It was so lovely that I ordered a second.) The incredible liquid texture and sumptuous weight and feel is perfect. This is a significant upgrade from the older version I have in black. So glad I got two! Please keep providing rich earth tone colors. I don't like either the garishly bright or pale Easter basket colors that appear little girlish to me.

Love this sweater. Its a beautiful wine red and a cozy warmer weight. I am 5'4" and 120 pounds, and bought a size small. It fits perfectly, form fitting but not too snug. It is a longer length, providing coverage with leggings. I find myself reaching for it constantly during these cooler fall days. Great for layering over a thin base layer, and under a fleece or zip up sweater.

For reference, I’m 5’4”, 137 pounds, about 35-29-40 and I got a medium in cherry. I’m usually around a small for my bust, but a medium for my waist. Glad I went with the larger of the two.Love:- the length overall (but not everyone will; it hits about mid hip, and I prefer tunic length everything)- arm length, but again, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea - past my first set of knuckles- most of the fit. Pretty flattering overall, not too tight on the arms. Just unflattering for the lower midsection if you’ve got that stomach pooch, but otherwise great- deep zip, almost to lower bust. Love this for venting when I work up a sweat in winter hiking.- runs decently thin in spite of warmth. I love this for backpacking and travel. Not a fan:- a little itchy. No more than usual icebreaker itchy levels, which I tolerate just fine. But if you’re making the switch from smartwool, you’ll notice.- the color!! I’ve been on the hunt HARD for a red merino top, and I thought I’d found my guy. The image on the site reads as an almost “holiday” or true red, and the name cherry seemed to imply actual red. Alas, it’s really more of a deep pink or magenta. So it’s a return for me before testing full functionality, but Icebreaker is typically a win for me so I would guess this guy holds to the same standard. The hunt continues!!

I have worn this piece skiing in Colorado, cold photography trips in Yellowstone NP and as a stylish "scarf" out to expensive restaurants. It never lets you down, warm, versatile and wears like iron. I had 3 of these sweaters for years but recently I lost one and had to replace it. I have the black ones. I wash them in cold water in a front loader washing machine, turned inside out on the "wool, hand wash" cycle and dry them flat on the ground. You can easily wear them 2-3 days with no washing as long as you have a t-shirt underneath.
This is the second Merino 260 Tech Long Sleeve Crewe Thermal Top I have bought for myself (and I plan to purchase more.) In really cold weather I wear this rather than the Merino 200 as it keeps me really warm. These two Icebreaker merino tops (200 and 260) have become winter staples for me as they are significantly better as maintaining an even temperature in winter when compared to all other fabrics I have tried and no longer wear. They are also beautifully made and wear well over time. As a taller person than average person another huge bonus is that all the Icebreaker the tops I own are long enough to keep my kidneys warm. Other taller people know that this is very often not the case when trying to find appropriate winter clothing.Generally an absolutely ... MoreThis is the second Merino 260 Tech Long Sleeve Crewe Thermal Top I have bought for myself (and I plan to purchase more.) Soft and super cozy. Maybe a little long or slimmer than other shirts. Im 5'2" 100lbs and the xs is perfect for me. I prefer sleeves that i can pull down over half my hand but are willing to stay on my arm if left alone and this is perfect. I saw a review on the icebreaker website that complained the neck is too long and only for someone with a swan neck. I can confirm that the neck comes up to the bottom of my chin, but dont have any issues with it. It keeps my neck warm without a scarf which is ideal for working outdoors. Maybe i have a swan neck... The fit is flattering to wear as just a cozy shirt. As a base layer I stay warm even if i get a bit soggy in the rain. The ordering and shipping process was terrible. It ships from Icebreaker rather than Marks. My other items shipped the next day and it took nearly a week for Marks to cancel my order and tell me it was out of stock. I re-ordered a different size and it arrived in half the time it took Marks to tell me the first one was out of stock.
I love my new icebreaker top. I've been a long-time icebreaker fan, and I know what to expect from their products, but I still like to read some reviews. I was going back and forth about whether I should get it because of the few negative reviews. There has been only one top that it's quality was not the best, and I was afraid this might be the same, but thank goodness I decided to go for it. It's a great top. Perfect for transitioning from winter to Spring in New York City. The only thing I have to mention is that this is not a regular red top, it is a magenta red. I still love it, but at first sight, I was a bit disappointed because I have been wanting a red top for a long time.
Okay, first of all, the color is SHOCKINGLY different from what I ordered. I ordered clove, which appears like a dusty orange or copper/caramel on my screen. This is a warmish moss color, the color of old Army gear almost. I would call it "green" or "green brown" before anything else. It's still a great color for anyone with autumn coloring, just surprisingly not close to what is pictured.Initial try on, it fits like between a traditional medium and large. I'm 5'3, 140lbs, narrow-shoulders, small chest, thick waist, and I wouldn't want it any tighter in the waist. It's slightly baggy around my upper body and sleeves; a medium would have served me better there but I've got the muffin top to contend with. Their fit model is clearly hourglass shaped. It's slightly baggy around my upper body and sleeves; a medium would have served me better there but I've got the muffin top to contend with. Their fit model is clearly hourglass shaped. The shoulder seams hit me just right, which is a little weird given it's a large and I'd say I'm more of a small in shoulders.I got a few prickles...nothing I wanted to immediately tear off, but a bit of a bummer as I don't get the itchy sensation at all with my similar Smartwool. I have sensory issues and am sensitive to every little thing. Average person is not going to notice, and even I probably wouldn't notice once I was out and about. It's long enough to cover almost my whole rump, and the sleeves are plenty long even though I'm ape-long. The fabric is very stretchy, which I love. It's immediately warm but not cloying, as all merino is.I have a slender, tall neck and the neck is TIGHT and too long for me...almost uncomfortably so. The zipper pushes into my throat. The mock neck of Smartwool suits me fine. I like that this provides locked-in heat loss protection but it's not as comfortable. I also just don't need the super deep zipper. It's a good solid piece, versatile for playing outside. I wish Icebreaker published their microns; I suspect this isn't as good a grade as Smartwool stuff.
I bought this shirt in Sage. The fabric is comfortable and soft, but shows wear after one wash; my many-years-old shirts from other brands don't show any pilling or wear.My main issue is that the zipper has a visible slant leftward and the body biases (twists) by about 4" (10cm) to the left. The sleeves bias by about 1.5". With vigorous movement, this shirt drags other layers to the left, even though the other layers have no issues.I exchanged it for another of the same size and color; so far it only biases by about 2" in the body. On the other hand, the first one needed several wearings and two washes to reach the full 4".TL, DR? Fabric is lovely, but the fit/quality is poor due to errors or QC issues during manufacture.
This top keeps you so toasty, and it is very soft. It's definitely not itchy like typical wool. I ordered in my usual size M, and its not tight or loose, so I think in each size the wool material has some give, so it gives you some wiggle room in terms of sizing, depending on if you prefer clothing to have a more snug or loose feel. Also, I try as much as possible not to wash my wool clothing, and I you do not have to wash this material as its so good at 1. regulating temp (so you dont sweat if you do get extra toasty), and 2. has antibacterial properties. I know some brands sell cheaper base layers, but I love this brand and it's definitely worth the investment. I'm on my way to buy their leggings now :) I hope this helps!
