Disappointed

The first use- I made a small chip in the blade cutting carrot.A week later, I used the knife and left to soak in a cup of water for three days. (Bad form I know, but we were leaving to go camping. I cut up some oranges with it). Came back to rust spots all over it, even on the blade that wasn’t in the water.Disappointed because I usually love baccarat goods and the quality is usually superior. To its credit though, it was a sharp blade.I would have returned it but I’m rural and I wasn’t going near the post office for ages.I obviously do not recommend.

I was replacing the knife

I was replacing the knife as the original in my set snapped at the handle, so my knife set was incomplete. I like the set but not sure why it snapped in the first place as it is a solid knife. I have the 9 knife set and it’s been great up until the knife snapped.

Love the knife .. it

Love the knife .. it was a replacement for one I had left in old dishwasher that was replaced with a new one . I’ve had the complete knife set for years .

Mixed performance

Good, well balanced knife.. sharp and cuts well.However, its design and/or composition are poor. I have the whole ID3 range and this knife is the most fragile and easily damaged of all of them.Does not stand the normal rigours of home kitchen life... edge easily dents and rolls.

Sharp but poor handle finish

This knife has a great blade and very comfortable to use except for the coating that rubs off the handle and falls into the food! I returned for a replacement and the next one has done the same.

The Baccarat iD3 CS Santoku 15cm. Just one of the many iD3 range I have purchased. Quality steel, perfectly balanced, stress free ergonomics and sharp is an understatement.
