All instructions were followed which was pretty easy. First thing, the middle support was not included with the bed. After we put it together we realized it was missing. We had to return to the store to obtain the missing item. The most disappointing part is that the bed collapsed on one side as my daughter was asleep. She’s a tiny thing. Upon further inspection we noticed that the rails were not evenly aligned. One side of the bed is higher than the other. I will be returning this for a refund. I’m very disappointed and glad my child was not hurt.

The bed looks nice when assembled but one of the pegs connecting the headboard to the side piece broke in half. There are he covers made of plastic that look gaudy but are on the back of the headboard so you don't really have to look at them but they don't fit in the holes antyway no matter how hard I try to push or squeeze them in. The bed sometimes has a bit of a squeak when I get on or off it on one side bur it's not loud though I'm concerned it's going to break. It's too much of a pain to try to bring it back so I just kept it as is and hope it doesn't break on me.Delivery was convenient.iemt though the DAY after I purchased it there was a special on free delivery and I doubt ikea will refund my delivery cost even though I'm a home member...

The Quality was better than I had imagined. Extremely sturdy and looks very classy. I purchased the Lonset bed slats and it certainly makes a difference. What I didn't realise and found very helpful was that there are 3 various heights you can place your bed base to and this governs the actual height of your overall mattress. I personally placed it on the highest setting to enable me to step off the mattress rather than lift myself off the mattress and it enabled me when making the bed to do so with ease. With securing the mattress on the highest level it did however decrease the amount of bedhead I had available to rest up against. The drawers underneath are fabulous for storage. Best off to store things you don't need to get to often. The assembly of the bed was not too difficult at all. In saying that, you will need two people towards the end of the assembly due to the weight of some of the components. This is possibly not a bed I would purchase if you plan on moving around alot as it is a very sturdy and heavy piece of furniture to continually dismantle and reassemble.Overall I give this bed and it's functionality 5/5

Love this bed for my daughter. It looks great and is very sturdy. My only criticism is that the draws are not physically attached to the bed underneath - they are on wheels so they just slide in under the bed. It’s abit heavy for my daughter to pull open by herself and I fear it will damage the carpet after a while. The carpet is thick. So instead of using it for toys, I’ve stored off-season clothing and bedding inside.
First of all, IKEA did a terrific job keeping the price of its bed frame within the range of most people's budgets. This is our second Songesand bed. The exterior looks fantastic. The only furniture collection from IKEA that features beds that resemble actual stained wood in warm, pleasant colours is Songesand. However, this laminated paper foil is particularly susceptible to scratches. The frame's edges weren't always trimmed straight. The quality of the parts, which used to be much better, made it nearly impossible to disassemble when I accidentally put some panels in the wrong way. When I tried to unscrew some of the cam locks, which were once made of metal but are now made of a composite material that looks like metal, they just came apart inside the panels. The same thing happened to the cam bolts; once I disassembled them, they broke. Finally, avoid spraying anything on IKEA furniture. Even when using a specific furniture spray, it warps.
Set up and initial use of this bed were pretty good. Fairly easy to put together and the frame is pretty sturdy, but I used this bed for about a year before it needed to be moved and the screws had fused the headboard with one of beams making it impossible to separate the two pieces and move it. Supply issues with the bed may make it difficult if you too need to replace any part of the bed. At this point it has been months and we can’t get it in stock in our area. And no other bed that Ikea offers matches with the Songesand furniture set (as it is a true brown vs the more commonly used black/brown) so you may be better off purchasing a different bed and furniture set especially if down the road an item needs to be replaced with something from a different collection.
All of the wood parts were easy to assemble. All of the screws for the metal pieces don’t really fit well into the holes drilled for them.Towards the end of assembly, I realized the metal bar (Skorva) that goes in the middle of the bed, along with the wood slats (Luroy) that you need to put the mattress on, was sold separately.. Both of these items are in the instructions and nowhere in store, on the box, or in the instructions does it tell you that you need to buy these separate. I’ve ordered similar beds from ikea online and all of this stuff was included and for a cheaper price.Lastly, now that the bed is put together as per the directions, the thin mattress I got sinks into the frame. So the frame is higher than the mattress on the sides/foot of the bed. Makes ... MoreAll of the wood parts were easy to assemble. Makes it pretty uncomfortable to get in and out of bed without smashing your legs on the frame that’s poking up.Get a Tarva instead, or better yet, don’t buy an IKEA bed. This one will be my last.
You buy a bed because you need to sleep on one. You buy an IKEA bed because it is affordable and convenient. You buy IKEA because you expect that there will be no missing pieces, or that the store or the online customer support will be able to assist you in rectifying any issues ASAP. However this was not my experience. The bed I received came with a built in piece missing. You can refer to the bottom of page 20 in the instruction manual where you will see there should be built in washers to insert the provided screws into. Two of the four necessary washers were missing. You can't insert washers yourself. I called IKEA customer support AND I went to the store. Both times they tried to gaslight me into thinking nothing was wrong. There is obviously something wrong - ... MoreYou buy a bed because you need to sleep on one. Despite multiple attempts to have them replace the footboard, I still have received nothing. The bed stands half built and I have had no bed to sleep in for the past week. This was a scam.
TLDR: Bad design, legs at foot of bed causing injury to shin/knee area. This would be a great bed if it wasn’t for the legs at the foot of the bed. They stick out an inch toward the side of the bed (end isn’t flush with the side rails) and are often hidden behind the sheet/blanket that covers the bed. Why they would design it to stick out is beyond me, but if you’re not careful, you will hit your shin/knee on it!! The corner is rounded going towards the bed and sharp going away from it. We got this bed 2 years ago and it happens occasionally, however it has happened twice recently, causing me to search it’s funny name and leave this review! I literally have to use my phone light if I have to get up at night for anything, to avoid hitting it.Otherwise it is a nice ... MoreTLDR: Bad design, legs at foot of bed causing injury to shin/knee area. This would be a great bed if it wasn’t for the legs at the foot of the bed. Excellent bed. very sturdy and comfortable. People who are having issues with the bed slats slipping out of the frame put it together wrong. When we put in the part that holds the slats, there were 2 holes in the frame we could use, so be mindful that you use the one that holds the slats tight.I love that this bed is completely open underneath- I can vacuum under it, I use some storage containers from Ikea to hold bedding, and my cats can go from one side of the room to the other under the bed. They nap under it during thunderstorms, too.I was surprised that this bed is so great considering the low price, and I am very happy.
