Wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the lamp! There is no IKEA in my state and website says bulb is n/a for delivery. There is no substitute light bulb for the side arm lamp. Must use the IKEA brand, "Solhetta" LED bulb, E26 450 Lumen. Label on the side lamp says, Use Max 8.6 W, Type A, SBLED lamp. (The Tagarp lamp fixture does not accept a GE/Philips etc. LED A19 8.5 W bulb!) Wish the floor display had a sign informing customers that this lamp needs a specific IKEA bulb.

The lights are good looking and effective. Very good price. But the illustrations are misleading - the lamp has two separate cables, switches AND PLUGS!!! The illustration only shows one. I should have looked more closely at the display unit - I nearly brought them back as I have a shortage of power points but I've used a double adapter in a double adapter- only low wattage. Ikea should say in ' Good to Know' that it has two cables [messy] and needs two power points. Ikea should also change the picture in the online catalogue

Today, we returned a NOT/TAGARP floor lamp that had tried to catch fire, and were told that we were at fault because the 'clip' that holds the base of the cone to the adjustable lower light, was not there. These lamps were selected for the low price point to allow me to utilise my existing Philips Hue bulb collection, and to supplement the horribly placed & very inadequate LED-spiral light unit installed in the room I use for my office. Placing them in opposing corners floods the room with lovely, bright light that allows for easy work at my computer, craft table, or electronics station. The upward orientation allows the light to be reflected off of the walls and ceiling to amplify & optimise the light. Since I am using with a Hue bridge, the light switches are always in the on-position, but I could see some potential issues with the units if the switches were being engaged regularly every day. Definitely good value for my use though.
I had one of the original designs of these for over 10 years now; the plastic covers were much better quality back then (-1 star for the lower quality covers and hard to click into place)!!I just moved into a new rental with very limited lighting so bought 2 more (wish it was still old shape). They work well; I’ve always thought the cords are a bit messy and I’m sure could be improved but not willing to spend double that he price on the alternative design available (and prefer the switches being lower on these).Globes last forever and I always have great low power bills despite using them a lot. Work well to put on a timer too. Love the double head for different needs.
I just came hone from Ikea, opened the box and found this used product packed up inside. There is lots of dust accumulated in the base of the lamp and some spots are dented. Looks worse than something bought on Facebook Marketplace. I understand that customers do return items but shouldn’t Ikea at least check the condition before putting them right back on shelf?? This looks unacceptable to be sold as a brand new full-priced item. I’ll have to make another half an hour drive to take this back to Ikea for an exchange/refund. What a waste of time and gas these days! So disappointed!!
Comes with a bulb, too! Easily removable shade and is made of washable material, just rinse, wipe dry and reinstall. Only con is that the wire exits too high; it should come out at the base but I realize this is done for flat packing, assembly, and cost. They do give you a couple clips in the box, which in my opinion isn't enough. I added some more small black zip ties to make the almost invisible. It's nicer than the floor lamp it replaced (also Ikea) as it provides more apparent light using the same bulb.
As noted in an another review, the two screws were very difficult to remove. We had to use lubricant, and even then it was hard, although we did manage it. We bought two lamps and had the same difficulty with each. IKEA, you need to get your manufacturer to fix this. The E26 bulb is for the uplighter and the E12 is for the reading lamp. Note that there is a choice of bulbs for each type. We bought the brightest choice (highest lumens) for each type. They are more expensive but suit our needs. The staff person on the floor was helpful and knowledgeable about the range of light bulbs available. Be sure to ask about this if you buy the lamp. She told us that the bulbs are available generally, not just distributed by IKEA.
I did not expect amazing quality for this low price but I did expect the safety standard to be at least decent considering the Ikea brand... The lamp is very unstable and wobbles a lot. Purchased along with the "must be completed with" lightbulbs on the product page which only showed E26 size; turns out there is two different sizes that are required. I live far away from an ikea so there is no way for me to purchase these missing bulbs conveniently as they are not available for parcel delivery. I would not recommend this lamp, if I lived closer to Ikea I would return this lamp but for the price it is not worth the hassle so will probably donate or recycle it.
lamp works great, but the smaller lamp started melting, i caught it in time before i burnt my house down lol. it could’ve been a faulty bulb or something but i tried to call customer service (she was amazing) and i wasn’t able to return it since i don’t live near an ikea store, and put in a return file or request or something and said they would call me, which they never did. but now all of a sudden two and a half months later they are randomly sending me a new lamp free of charge. i’m not complaining. thank you ikea i love you ❤️ but i was confused you ghosted me but the lamps fine
