I bought this in medium/firm as the reviews said it was a firm mattress and I preferred the medium firm hovag over the firm. But the mattress quickly started to sag and I now have constant back ache. I have turned the mattress around to sleep on the other side which helped initially but now that it starting to sag. I want to exchange it for a firm but I'm past the 90 days. It's a big problem as the mattress is getting worse over time and it seemed fine at first. What's happened to the quality, my children have hovag beds and as good as new but they stopped selling them. The foam Asvang has also changed hugely and is nothing like the quality it used to be.

The mattress is incredibly comfy almost a 10/10, i aired it out for a day and let it do it's thing for 72hours. Feels like a blob of cloud to sit and lay on. I do feel warm on it so might need to try a topper but other than that it's amazing. I've tried all the beds upto £700 in dreams and other shops and was shocked to stumble into ikea and feel something more comfy which took the stress away with endless searching for the right mattress. The warth is the only thing but then again i am currently 14 stone so maybe i need to loose some warth meself instead of assuming its the bed. The foam used is polyurethane foam so make sure you research this before popping in the store. I'm 2 nights in so still yet to make my final decision but go and test for youself theres a ... I do regret why I made such a mistake I chose Ikea while it was June and there were many other options as low as Ikea.Anyway, these Mattress sounds have a very low ability to absorb your body humidity and warmth. So, it makes you turn around frequently and it hugely affects your seep sleep. the other cons is that it gave a very bad backache even compared to very cheap mattresses that have nothing but a spring. So, considering the 800 prices, you can go for any other option other than Ikea in off-months. Just take care of the bed too since Ikea sizes don't match with Australian standard and they are 1 cm smaller both with and length.I will definitely go for a refund or return. But I need to see and check how.

We purchased this about 6 months ago and since day 1 we find it super comfortable, firm with a good support. It's thick so it doesn't easily bend and it gives a good style to the bed as it looks high quality. Also the fact that it's with springs is really nice because when one moves on the mattress, the other doesn't really feel it as each sprint is independent.Since I'm using it my lower back pain is much improved. My sleep quality as well. Overall i can only recommend it if you want a good back support and a medium hard mattress.I just wish the sides of the mattress were beige or grey instead of blue.
I got this to replace my previous Hovag mattress. I chose medium hard. For the first week it was great. Weeks 2 to 4, I woke up with back ache every single morning and found the mattress to be very hard. I am in week 6 now and whilst the mattress has softened up somewhat, I still wake up aching most days. I am giving serous thought to upgrading to the one with two sets of springs (also starts with a V), but not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of that. I am a side sleeper and had shoulder issues last year that required physio therapy which is why I decided to get a new mattress in the first place. I suffered with back pains before the shoulder pains started so I just really want to find a comfortable mattress that works for me. I wanted to love this one but so ... Well I haven't bought an ikea bed for ten years. They used to be good quality mattresses back thenNow I feel the quality has dramatically changed. I wish they didn't remove the old ranges aa they were much betterThis very limited new selection of mattresses seem poor quality in my opinionEspecially noticeable if you sit on the edge of the bed or getting in and out and touching the edge ...it just collapses and compresses down. There is no support at all on the edges of the bedThis needs to change ...you can't sink Into the bed frame everything you sit on the edge or end of the bedVery unstable and poor quality. The video footage of the other style the Vagstranda mattress shows you what I mean ....the man in the demo sits on the bed and the side collapses in on ... I had tried the Hovag at a friends house and was saddened to find that I couldn’t buy it for myself. So i went to the store looking for something similar and tried all of the showroom mattresses. Most mattresses in store felt too soft and cushy. I was looking for something quite firm as i have a stuffed back from sleeping on latex for the last decade. I needed hip support badly. The only two which i felt came close to Hovag was this one in extra firm and the pricier vatnestrom in extra firm. Was happy to discover that this is vacuum roll packed and was easy to transport home in my car with the seats down flat. If you want to save money on shipping and can get down to a store, this is a good way to save some money. It is quite heavy though.Ive had this mattress for ... Definitely recommend.
We were following the guide of another retailer about replacing every 8 years when we stumbled upon this mattress in store. It came rolled which was different our last one was delivered by ikea flat. This one we unrolled and left to come to shape for a day, and put it on the bed. It was very comfy, being larger and my wife not, we were worried about the firmness but it was nothing to worry about, the generous layer of foam really softens it while still being firm. I've had the best night's sleep this week vs the last few years which was at the time Ikeas "best mattress (by price)". If you're reading this, try the mattress. If you don't like it, you have 90 days to swap it out.
But I’m so glad I wasn’t! It might be a matter of perspective, but coming from the cheap (£200) mattress we had that came with our bed (not from ikea) this Valevag mattress is incredible! Super easy to bring home and unpack, then even before the 72 hours it is so incredibly supportive.Maybe the edges aren’t supportive like some have said…but it sure feels good on the edge to me! Plus we have a superking so I don’t plan on being near the edge 😂I’ll review again if it all falls apart after a few months…but based on my initial impressions we’re going to be sleeping very happily.Looking at the single next for our daughter.Ps I was impressed by the reviewer that said they have a simba mattress and got Valevag for the spare room, and couldn’t tell the difference. ... Considering this is at least half the price I’d say that’s a big tick for Ikea.
