I am so in Love with our new Illume alternative skylight we purchased to brighten our newly renovated bathroom with no window. Illume works perfectly to brighten up the bathroom. It's so good I keep trying to turn the light off in the bathroom then I realise the light switch is not on its the Illume light doing a great job at brightening up the room. I'm so happy with my purchase I intend on buying more.I did purchase another brand of solar light which was cheaper than this one and it just wasn't as bright as the Illume Brand.I recommend to pay the extra money for the Illume Brand as it is definitely worth the extra money.

I was a bit hesitant about a "fake" skylight, but we had a hallway that drastically needed some natural light and unfortunately the roof cavity limited options for a conventional skylight. We originally purchased the 180mm model but realised that it would be too small (probably better suited to a pantry size area), and opted for the larger 270mm model. It has been installed approximately 12 months and we love it, it looks so natural that we installed a second (in an area that could have had a conventional skylight through the roof cavity) after about 6 months because we were so impressed

The Illume 270mm round Skylight alternative (Solar Skylight) is a simple and easy to install product that performs exceptionally well to light up those dark areas of the house.Install is a simple DIY process, involving 4 L shaped brackets to install to the roof and running the 9m cable through the roof capping.Template for ceiling cutout is easy to use and well designed.Total install time was approx 40mins, including climbing up and down from the roof.Highly recommend this product for use in any Australian house
I think the product is good thinking and the quality is good. I read that a dimmer control is available it would also be good to have a battery so it could be used at night. However, the printed installation instructions are a bit cheap and not clear. The Youtube video spent a lot of time selling the product but I think glossed over the installation.
Great product and not too hard to instal. Lights the room up sufficiently. My only kind of adverse comment is sometimes the lighting it provides looks more like a light rather than daylight. But that wasn’t a huge issue for my needs
It's great for providing additional light to dark areas of the home, particularly on lower levels where traditional skylights can't be installed, like at the bottom of the stairs in our house. Easy to install, and long cable included so it could reach to the lower level ceiling. The instructions are contradictory as to whether or not insulation can be installed over the LED panel.The warranty is very disappointing at only 1 year (I think you can get 2 years if you register the product ie. sign up for regular email spam) - don't Kimberley Products have any confidence in their product? LEDs typically have design life of 50,000 hours (which should be well over 10 years at an average of 12 hours per day), and PV panels are usually warranted for 25 years or more.
Bought to solve dark, dingy bathroom lighting problem. Have previously used solar tubes which are amazing, but in my new house, I did not have the roof space, so opted for the Illume, what a result!East to install on a tin roof and in the bathroom ceiling and floods the room with light, still can't believe that the light is not turned on.Also bought another brand of solar light for the laundry room which was $70 cheaper. Wish I had spent the extra $70, it works, but not as effectively.One caveat, has only been installed for a week, so time will be the real decider of quality/longevity, but so far, really impressed.
I'm surprised how good this worked to be honest.Put it in myself, easy as. It turns it's self off as soon as the sun has set. I'm interested to see how long it will last..but for now it works a lot better than an actual tube skylight and it won't make the roof leak..
What a great product, bathroom is illumined all day without using any power off the grid.We have had this installed in out bath room because there is no window.When we first installed it we kept checking that we haven't left the light switch on
