I have been using this product for everyday use. The 2 in 1 approach is very effective and saves a chunk of space for other utensils. I have used the pressure cooker and is great. However, the air fryer lid will not close all the way as we place the inner pot and the fryer in the instant pot. I have been using it this way to avoid grease or anything falling directly on the bottom of the pot which leaves a small gap while we close the fryer lid. Despite this the fryer did not disappoint, as i have been using the air fyer everyday. Just concerned whether i am using the device as intended or not? Anyways great product for slow cooking and frying foods.

My very first pressure cooker was an Instant Pot, I used it daily and I loved it until it stopped working. Then someone gave me a Crock Pot pressure cooker as a gift and it was even better than the Instant Pot until it stopped working. I was convinced that I would get another Crock Pot pressure cooker until I saw the new features of the Instant Pot while shopping one day at Costco, so I bought a 7-in1 and fell in love again. So they have to put a big jar of peanut butter on top of the lid to weigh it down enough so that the Instant Pot can acknowledge the lid. After finally getting the Instant Pot to recognize the lid, the rest of the air-fryer cooking experience was poor.I checked other reviews to see if anyone else was having this problem, and they were, which seems to mean that it's a problem with the design and not just a bad unit. So now it's a toss up of whether my next pressure cooker will be an Instant Pot or a Crock Pot. In all fairness, it's time to give Crock Pot another try since it didn't have any design flaws. If I do decide to buy another Instant Pot it will only be their older versions that have been tested by time and usage.I will update this review as the other features are used.

Looked forward to receiving the instapot and it arrived quickly in an undamaged plain box. However, the item was severely damaged, broken edge of pot and bottom was popped out. I didn't even bother checking to see if all the parts were shipped. No instructions but someone else's return label inside the box. This instapot was ordered through Wal-Mart but was shipped by an independent "pro"seller, Krazzy Goods through Wal-Mart. Very damaged and there's no way this instapot would ever work. I returned it and have received an email from Walmart stating that I will be receiving a refund. I sure hope so. Shame on the seller for even shipping this piece of junk. Buyer beware! If the price seems to good to be true, IT IS! Listen to the reviews! I wished I would have!

I prefer my old model instant pot. This model I’ve found finicky. Seal doesn’t come to pressure as easily, needs pressing down on lid a second time. When selecting a time setting, start needs to be hit afterwards otherwise it resets. I’ve made hundreds of meals with my old IP duo. The old model you could select the time/setting then walk away. The air fryer lid is nice for things like crisping up lasagna but it takes up a lot of space. The keep warm didn’t stay on a couple of times, I don’t know why. It does the job but I find little things like this inconvenient; I don’t love this new model
This product is great. First time using a product like this and I am really loving it. I have used the air fry 3 times for different chicken meals and not only was it much much quicker than an oven the meals came out crisp and moist and flavorful. The only neg thing i have to say is after you use the air fryer the crisp bin is a little bit difficult to clean (but I ordered a silicon bin for that) I have read they work really well. I have not used the pressure cooker portion yet however from what I have googled and read about I am expecting that to work just as well. Myself as a single guy this is a game changer.
This is my first Instant Pot and my first Air Fryer ever. We are blown away and really don't know why we didn't get either one ages ago. Almost everything stores nicely into the pot. But you will have 2 different lids to store. We shifted things around in the kitchen to make space, but with this in the kitchen now, we were able to retire some other pots and small appliances (read: slow cooker) as this thing will replace those functions. This pot is good for two of us to cook and have leftovers, or for a small family. Make sure you read the instructions and understand how the unit works before you start jumping on a bunch of recipes, but once you know how it works, both the instant pot and air fryer functions are very easy to use. Anyone who is already a decent home cook will be a pro with this thing in no time. The one star down is only because the tiered air fryer unit makes it difficult to flip items if you stack with it. There is no easy way to take out the middle tier piece, though I have managed with a combination of fork, chopsticks, or tongs. That said, you also don't have to use the middle tier, but you don't want to overcrowd when airfrying because it won't get nice and crispy. All in all, I would recommend this to anyone. I saw they have an 8 qt as well for bigger families, but remember the bigger the unit, the more time it will take. But who am I kidding, I can now make dinner in about 20 minutes, so it's still going to save time with an 8 qt.
I find this Instant pot ok, I wouldn't buy it again having the choice. It's really bulky, heavy, however it does not have a lot of internal surface for proper air frying, so you end up having to cook small quantities or in batches. Comparing the pressure cook function to my old stove top pressure cook, it actually takes longer to cook the same food, same quantity than it does for my no-frills pan. Cleaning is also a bit of a pain, in particular the basket for the air fryer.
Bought this on the Black Friday sale which is now the same as the every day price. I was trying to decide from a toaster oven or the duo pot and pretty sure I made the wrong choice. I let it sit for about 3 weeks then decided to finally open it and take it out which was a feat in itself. Pretty sure every other word was a curse word. Then after the daunting task of getting it out I realized I had no space for it so back in the box and we all know it never fits back in the box, uggh! Cleaned a couple shelves off and took another week to get it back out. Okay, it didnt take a week to get it out just me wanting to actually get it out. Very intimidated by all of its glory I was going to do the steam some water test to get used to it. I had to stop the test because I ... Cleaned a couple shelves off and took another week to get it back out. Okay, it didnt take a week to get it out just me wanting to actually get it out. Very intimidated by all of its glory I was going to do the steam some water test to get used to it. I had to stop the test because I couldnt find the round thing you sit the hot lid on and freaked out because I thought it was in the pot still locked on to the lid. After cussing the makers for letting that even be possible I found it snapped on to the fryer lid. Yes I called myself what everyone is calling me! Okay on to the water test. I made it through but wasn't sure what to do when it was finished so I decided to push the steam knob on top and that was scary especially when it went straight up on to my painted cabinet doors as I thought I could actually see the paint melting off. The only place I will be able to cook with it is on my washer or dryer, yes they are in my tiny kitchen. I dried everything off and went to put it on my shelves and the pot is just a little to big to allow the door to shut completely so with no other place to store it the door will just have to be cracked all the time. Will I ever use it? Maybe once or twice but I really wish I had gone with a Ninja grill and air fryer or a toaster oven that air fries and bakes since my oven doesnt work and I could leave it setting out on my counter. The only thing I actually see me using the 6 qt. Instant Pot Duo Crisp for is soup. Soup that I might cook a couple times a year. Its definitely intimidating and really small to use the air fryer or dehydrate an apple. Well maybe a half an apple!
this is this is not the item I ordered. it did come with the air fryer lid, and the insert to use the air fryer, and the normal cooking pot. the steam basket is not in this model and there is no dehydrator tray. that's probably because this is not the 11 and 1 that I ordered it's only a nine and one. it does have a small basket if you want to call it that but it has no handles it just sits in the bottom. I have not used the pot yet and hopefully it will work. but I am very disappointed. I see there are many options and I could have bought something different however I wanted the one I chose and paid for. it's always risky ordering online. for now I'll keep it unless it doesn't work. I bought this to replace a 12 quart but I've been cooking in for years.
Aside from a crock pot and a rice cooker, this was my first cooker of any type, so I was a little nervous getting this. But, I had it up and running in an hour. Very versatile. I've fried potatoes, made stews, and even hamburger helper with it. What really sold me on the product was the safety feature. One time I put the fryer basket into the pot without the actual pot and set the cooker to fry. The cooker started to beep and show the warning sign for pot. If the cooker had started without the pot, probably the unit would have been damaged, or at the very least, a mess to clean up. Get the pot, you won't regret it.
