Love this cooker! It's so easy to switch from slow/pressure cooking to air fry/grill. I've barely used my stove top at all since getting this. I've made all the usual soups and casseroles but being able to pressure cook a roast and then finish it off with a quick air fry was just incredible. I only knocked a star off because the Proof setting (which was one of the main reasons I bought this one) uses the fan to heat and it just dries out the top of the dough and stunts the rising. But everything else I just love about it. It's safe and easy to use with the digital prompt messages letting you know what to do each step of the way. Even when to add your food once it's preheated. Bit of a shame you can't change out the gasket around the pressure cooking cover if that's ... MoreLove this cooker! It's so easy to switch from slow/pressure cooking to air fry/grill. Up until then I was using my steam oven to sous vide but this leaves me with a very wet oven that needs to be dried and mostly the item I am cooking is small so it seems a waste. Up until then I was using my steam oven to sous vide but this leaves me with a very wet oven that needs to be dried and mostly the item I am cooking is small so it seems a waste. This InstantPot is perfect for cooking sous vide but you do need a vacuum sealer. The pressure cooker and slow cooker are excellent too, no 90 minute maximum time limit on the pressure cooker which is great if you like to make your own Christmas puddings. The steam feature is basically pressure cooking again which was the same on the previous machine I had. To me, there should be no extra pressure when steaming which is why it is recommended as a very gentle way of cooking delicate foods but as soon as you add steam you are pressure cooking all be it on low. This machine also makes yogurt which was something I used to make in a saucepan with a thermometer. Making it in this multipoint takes a little longer but I can make double the amount in one go. It takes longer because when I make it I cool the pasteurised milk down in an ice bath until it reaches the correct temperature to add the culture but with this pot you have to leave it with the lid open for up to 90 minutes to cool down and in the meantime it allows a skin to form on the milk. If you try and speed the process up by removing the pot and placing it in an ice bath, a) the InstantPot keeps beeping at you to replace the pot and b) it does not good because even if you cool it down to just above the correct temperature it still lets it sit there for 90 minutes before prompting you to add the culture.Air frying works really well and I used this feature a lot. No more feeling guilty for heating up the oven to max just because I fancy some oven chips with my dinner. It's good not just for chips either, cooking chicken breasts this way works wonderfully too as do many other things. I use this much more than I was expecting.Bake & Roast. This feature, and I refer to it as one feature as despite there being dedicated buttons for both I can't fathom any difference between them, is the feature I have had the most issues with and indeed led to InstantPot replacing my machine. The first thing I tried was a cake recipe that was from their web site and supposed to be suitable for this model. After the allotted time it came out burnt on top and totally uncooked underneath using the bake setting. I tried some fish in the air fryer basket with the roast setting. they were just salmon steaks so should have cooked quite easily but again, after the allotted time they were burnt on top and raw underneath. Several times I tried with different arrangements of containers but it was always the same. Nothing was cooking properly underneath. Eventually InstantPot replaced my machine and to be fair I have only had the replacement a week but today I tried the same cake recipe again and although the result was better the cake was still partially uncooked underneath and near to black on top.I have not used the grill, dehydrate or proofing features. The user manual is rubbish. First you have to download it, there is no paper version and second it isn't detailed enough. It just tells you what to do but doesn't give any idea of what is actually happening to explain the difference between the options which would be helpful if you wanted to work out what would be the best setting for something you normally cook by other means. On the whole I like my InstantPot for the things it does well. It's certainly more economical and easier to clean than my oven. It would be fantastic if I could get it to bake as it ought to but maybe I'm expecting too much however, there are a couple of things that would make it even more useful. If you could have a delayed timer on the bake or roast setting you could set it to cook jacket potatoes so they are ready when you get home from work. Unfortunately the delayed start only works for the slow, pressure and steam cooking options which, let's face it, you are not going to need it for. Another useful feature would be to have a temperature probe option which would measure the internal temperature of the food and stop the cooking automatically when the set temperature has been reached. Perhaps these features will appear in a later model.

This is my first Instant Pot product I've owned and I am beyond happy with this product. I will be honest and say it looked a little intimidating when I took it out of the box. I took the time to read the manual thoroughly and I felt much better about using it (it's actually quite simple and very user friendly). This product does everything from air frying, pressure cooking, slow cook, bake, saute, steam, dehydrate, broil, roast and more! I think the biggest difference I've seen with other similar products is with this one you don't have to switch lids. The cover inserts and releases easily and clean up is simple after cooking. Be aware that the lid does not come off, so when using make sure you have plenty of room above and around it. Be aware that the lid does not come off, so when using make sure you have plenty of room above and around it. I was really happy to see the safely features on it and that it won't work until all the parts are in the right place. For example, it won't start if the lid is not on correctly or if you forget to take off the pressure lid when air frying. I've mainly used this product, so far, for pressure cooking and air frying and everything has come out perfect. My favorite things to cook in it is chicken, potatoes and veggies. I love the crisp the food gets and my meats are always so juicy. My daughter even commented that her chicken nuggets and fries are even tastier when cooked in this pot! Another thing I love is that this product replaces so many of my other small appliances, it really is an all in one product. I've been using this Instant Pot so much I decided to just keep it on my counter, the sleek design looks great and so modern. It is quite heavy so I feel like keeping it on the counter was a good choice. I am really looking forward to trying new recipes and really trying out each and everything it does. My daughter is excited to make strawberry and banana fruit chips using the dehydrator so that will be our next thing! Overall I am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend!

We have wanted a multi cooker like this for I don't know how long due to reading such wonderful things about the brand. This one does it all, and we have dispensed with our slow cooker/pressure cooker plus an independent air fryer in favor of this one unit that takes up considerably less space. Best of all, there is only one lid, which means no lid switching is required. The instructions for using the Instant Pot are clear and concise and, after the required minimal cleaning of the various components, it was ready to go. The control panel on the front of the Instant Pot is informative, well designed, and easy to read. Impressive is the fact that you can do so many things with this product. We have already started to pressure cook vegetables on a daily basis ... MoreWe have wanted a multi cooker like this for I don't know how long due to reading such wonderful things about the brand. We also like to cook stews in the pressure cooker and it is so easy. The air fryer function is invaluable as we use it extensively for things like fried chicken and even french fries. It is so convenient to just remove the pressure cooker inner cover and proceed. Another function which could be really useful is the ability to make yogurt. We have never made it before and cannot wait to experiment with it. You need quite a lot of room above and around the Instant Pot, and it is quite heavy too, which can make it difficult to lift. However, this is such an innovative and useful piece of equipment, and we are looking forward to many more years of fun.

Magic pot!

The Instant Pot Duo crisp 6.5 quart with ultimate lid multi cooker and air fryer is pretty much all you need for most of your cooking! So far I have air fried onion rings, fries, shrimp, mozzarella sticks and wings. Yes have headed up left over pizza that tastes like fresh new pizza! Yes have made a few soaps and chicken stew where the flavors are fabulous and everything tender and cooked just right. I made a pot roast that tasted like my mommas after hours of slow cooking in the oven. Everything is cooked in less time, no heated up kitchen and easy clean up( get the liners). I love it! Can't wait to bake in it. My only con is the thing is huge and take up a lot of space. It's so we'll make and very easy to use. It's magical ! A must for everyone's kitchen.

Multi-Functional, Works Well, User Friendly!

I have been an instant pot user for 7 years now and I did not have any experience with previous air fryer lids, just the standard instant pot. I found the instructions straightforward and easy to understand. This machine is very easy to set up and use for both using the pressure cooker cover and using the heating element. This machine is really big though, its heavy, wide, and the lid flipping up needs a lot of clearance so take that into account when choosing a spot on the counter. To set up the machine, you need to clean the inner liner, wipe the heating element and base, make sure the condensation collector is aligned, and clean the air frying/cooking rack. Then do an easy test run for pressure cooking. All of this went extremely smoothly. I did notice my instant pot liner was damaged. It had a flat spot on the rim of the liner. However, this did not affect the function of the machine and it passed the test and I’ve pressure cooked in it multiple times with no problems. This machine is super easy to setup for pressure cooking. It has a pressure cooker cover that you pop into the top of the lid and it has an easy release button and a loop to hold it with when removing it. Then, in order to use the heating element, you just take out the pressure cooker cover. All of the features and options are so easy to use and the front panel is extremely user-friendly.Using the heating element to bake in this machine was something I was so excited about. The only problem is that it stinks really badly, like plastic the entire time. I keep hoping it will get better as time goes on, but so far, the smell has not improved. Otherwise, it works amazingly well for air frying and baking!Another amazing feature is the steam release. Not only is it a button, but you can choose the type of steam, and the steam is so quiet! I am amazed at how quiet the steam is every single time I vent it.This instant pot has a lock slider on the lid. When you go to open the lid, it is spring-loaded. I didn’t realize it was going to fly back on its own and it rocked the entire machine back and forth, the handle needs to be used when opening and closing the instant pot. This machine really does it all and it does a really great job at doing it all. I really love the updates on this machine as far as the progress bar and the control dial. It makes things so much easier when selecting temperatures and times and I love seeing where it’s at as far as preheating or cooking. All in all, this machine is awesome. There are so many things I absolutely love about this machine; it works extremely well, and it’s ultra-quiet. I would absolutely recommend it!

Sleek, well designed upgrade
25 March 2022

I am a longtime, frequent user of Instant Pot products and have been highly satisfied with every single item and the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid is no exception. I own a previous version of the Duo Crisp 6 qt and am very excited to see this new 2-in-1 lid versus needing to attach and store the bulky air fryer lid in addition to the pressure cooker. As far as size, the two Duo Crisp are about the same length, but the depth of the new Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid is quite a bit larger, as you can see in the comparison photo. While it is on the bulkier side, it will still save quite a bit of space compared to having both a pressure cooker and an air fryer. The slide lock and release switch is a nice feature to see and to open the lid you slide it to the ... MoreI am a longtime, frequent user of Instant Pot products and have been highly satisfied with every single item and the Instant Pot Duo Crisp with Ultimate Lid is no exception. While it is on the bulkier side, it will still save quite a bit of space compared to having both a pressure cooker and an air fryer. The slide lock and release switch is a nice feature to see and to open the lid you slide it to the very far right. To close the lid, you need to push down until it clicks into place. A large difference between the two is the new IP requires an open space to operate, as the lid is not removable and opens up. We have extremely limited counter space and this fits in one specific spot on my counter because of our cabinets. The stainless steel pot is about the same capacity as my other Duo Crisp, but the new pot is wider and shorter, which I like for air frying and because I can add larger meats to the pot.The control panel is another big upgrade and I am a huge fan of this addition. I like how easy it is to operate and easy to read. I also like how it shows the status bars of your cooking stages--preheating, cooking, and keep warm, mainly because I like to know the progress of the preheating stage. If you try to operate the air fryer with the inner pressure cooker cover intact, the screen tells you to remove the pressure cooking cover. It is easy to remove by pushing the red button and pulling the metal loop on the lid. Before you do your initial water test, you will need to remove the tape on the steam vent on the inner pressure cooker cover. The air fryer mode is quick and efficient. You can easily check the status of your meal by lifting the air fryer lid as you would any other air fryer. The included basket is sufficient. Another feature I really like is that I can set the steam method on the control panel (natural release, pulse, quick steam). I do not have to manually do this anymore and that is a game changer for me. I honestly don't use all of the cooking methods, but those we have tried out so far have worked as expected and I like that yogurt function was added to this model. We plan on testing out the proof feature this weekend.Overall, I feel this is a well designed upgrade from the previous Duo Crisp and highly recommend it to those wanting an appliance that has an air fryer and pressure cooker (and so much more) in one.
