I purchased the Seahawk to strictly row out to the sailboat when anchored. that being said, I figured how bad could this inflatable be, and it’s only $60.This little boat is constructed far better than I anticipated. Because it does not have an inflatable keel, (it does have an inflatable floor) it won’t row very straight, but it is built for fun; just don’t attempt any serious distance rowing, it is still a toy, a well constructed one, but still a toy. Luckily Can Tire is very co-operative with their exchange policy and gave me another boat.I am concerned how long this filler will work.I contacted INTEX to voice my concerns and perhaps they could consider rectifying this. I received a cookie cutter reply "Intex products do not have a specified life expectancy" etc, etc. After 2 attemts to communicate with INTEX I surrender!I would not recommend this boat in its present form with this valve. Good if well inflated. Ease of use.

First time out needed more air. Instructions said to not inflate too hard. Flimsy and will inflate more next time. I am used to a solid rowboat. Good quality for the price.

This is my second boat from Intex. I have taken this boat up creeks, lakes and rivers. The inflatable seats are best reserved for safety assets and I have always sat on the floor and rowed backwards from the bow of the boat. In this position, you can get this puppy clipping along very well. It isn't unusual for me to row up to 2 kilometers in this boat. A grest workout to be sure. Make sure you read the safe conditions under which this boat can be used. It is rated for light winds under 12 knots (22 km/hr) I have bought an Intex motor mount from Canadian Tire and it fits perfectly on the boat. It can only handle up to a 1.5 hp engine .Anything higher is unsafe and violates the Canadian Compliance Notice. The top speed will be about 5 km/hr. Not fast but not as taxing as rowing. I hope this helps.

Maybe for little guys... Oars were too short
2 July 2017

I gotta say this was one of the most uncomfortable boat rides I have ever taken... I'm big but not huge, 230lbs, and the boat was just too soft I sank into the tail end and it was most difficult to get myself propped up as the sides of the boat sank and shifted as I tried to get the pillow seat underneath me. Even when I did managed to do it I still sat too low and was at an awkward angle to row. I found it easier to kneel in the middle of the boat to row and my feet were purple after a while...I would add that the one technical issue I had with the boat was the oars being too short. the plastic couplers holding the two rods together rubbed on the boat if you held them like a regular oar and if you slid them farther down so the coupler cleared and the oar head had ... MoreI gotta say this was one of the most uncomfortable boat rides I have ever taken... Poor design.

Nice boat for the money. Fun. Easy to inflate.
7 August 2020

Just purchased it. Heading out first time this weekend. Did inflate the raft to inspect (in my living room). The overall quality seems quite good for the money. Says its a 3-person raft. Its going to be a little tight with two adults. No way 3 people would fit unless you werent bringing along any gear. I mean zero gear. I did buy a trolling motor, which Im excited to try out. Lots of fun videos on youtube. The floor in this model is rather soft. Would probably want some added flooring to better stabilize while moving around. I think for only 2 people this boat may work fine. Just looking at though, and with further research, I believe I would have rather gone with the Mariner 4 for a little extra money. I think the size and overall construction of the Mariner 4 (from posts I have read) easily warrants the extra money. If you have never purchased one of these before (I havent) there are a lot of things that youll need to consider purchasing, especially if using a trolling motor. By the time you load up the life jackets, fishing gear, anchor, battery for the motor, cooler, seats, theres not much room left in this raft. My recommendation is that if you plan on using a raft more than a few times a year, spend the extra money and get at least a four person. You will be glad you did. Happy boating!

Okay, but easily susceptible to punctures.
7 November 2016

Had this boat 6 months, along with an electric trolling motor.- PRO's: quick and easy to inflate, easily transportable, rod holders, comfortably fits 2 adults plus gear (3 adults is doable but cozy).- CON's: Susceptible to punctures. In my 6 months of ownership, I've taken it out on lakes around a dozen times, have been very careful with it (or so I thought), and yet have had to repair 3 or 4 punctures already. If I were do to this over again, I'd recommend a 4-person boat (not 3-person), and I'd be willing to pay a bit more for a higher quality material than what's offered with the Seahawk models. That said, the price is tough to beat! Surprisingly Impressed!
8 October 2022

Ordered at the end of the Summer after seeing others on the bay using something similar. End of summer so it was marked down $60. Nice! Used it on still waters... 3 people with 2 of us being a bit overweight. A friend pulled us behind his 3 man motor boat easily. The front took in a little bit of water when going fast but it wasnt a big deal. Used it 2 more times recently in Tennessee with just the oars to move and steer us. 2 adults and 2 kids and all fit good unless you need lots of room. kids even jumped in and out of the lake from it. So we are 3 for 3 on our fun outings with this boat with no issues. Easy to blow up and easy to deflate. Even the friends in the power boat were amazed with this boat and asked for the link. lol.

The first one I got from the store had a 1cm hole in the bottom, and stress marks all over. It looks like the pvc broke at a tight crease inside the box. I tried using one of the patches that came in the box and gave it my best attempt to seal it on with force, but the adhesion broke when it was re-inflated. I wanted to go back to the store for an exchange, but the last one was pre-opened, so I opted to send it to the manufacturer instead.I paid express shipping to send cut up parts of this item in order to receive a replacement, but it still took over a month to get the replacement back, and I missed all the hot weather. When I was finally able to take this thing to the lake, I dragged it over a single jagged rock and it cut a three inch hole in the bottom. I'd like to patch it, but it's hard finding a good repair product. Meanwhile, I see stress marks on the foot pedals of the included pump - I feel like this too will break soon. It's a really fast, compact pump, but it's kind of disappointing to think of how many get thrown away because either the customer already has one or the included one breaks. Personally, I would rather just pay less and buy my own pump instead. This product is marketed for fishing or rowing in the sea, but I would never use this near barnacles, rocks, or fishing hooks. Just save up for a canoe or a kayak and it could last you a lifetime. I'd really like to have a good experience with this product but it has been a headache.
