A fragrant lil number. The whiskey barrels we expertly used by the wine makers to accentuate the lovely Barossa fruit the picked in '12!! Kicking back with some chocolate for dessert, after enjoying the Shiraz with a juicy steak and roasted beets the wine was a real journey. Early in the piece the wine was beautifully fragrant with cedary cigar box aromas and slowly opened up to reveal the forest fruits the Barossa is famous for. For the price.....punches way above its weight !!

Fantastic value for money at this price point. This Barossa Shiraz has a surprisingly rich depth and an incredibly smooth mouth feel. Predominantly the palate is of sweet rich fruit and dark chocolate which gives way to toasted almonds and subtle vanilla. The finish reveals the scotch whisky impartment of flavours well. Perhaps a little too sweet a finish for some but a perfect accompaniment to a steak.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a bottle of this recently. To be honest I was a little unsure when I learned how it was finished in aged whisky barrels thinking it might just be a gimmick in a saturated market. I was surprised therefore, to find it was entirely drinkable and enjoyable! The double-barrel technique certainly adds complexity. Its a meaty, chewy shiraz true to its barossa roots but which is overlayed with a softer velvety mouth feel. Great with some chargrilled meat straight off the barbie!

One of my favourite wines. Not as sweet as other Shiraz wines typically are. I can definitely taste some oak flavour which makes it a unique flavour. For mass-production wineries, Jacob’s creek is always good
Oh when it comes to red wine! Red wine! This is my favourite! It is a little over the affordable budget line, just a tad over $20. This wine has a higher percentage than most and one glass is definitely enough to make you feel nice. Always my go to when we have celebrations such as birthdays, thanksgiving and such! Love this wine! It is smooth, best served at room temperature, it tastes amazing! It is a dry wine not fruity, which I prefer, and it is very oak-y. Definitely my second favourite red wine!

On the nose you get plenty of plum and forest floor notes, with the woody aroma of American oak. Unlike the Cab Sav, I didn't think I could smell the Whiskey, which is a bit of a shame as I was hoping to. In the mouth it's silky smooth, blueberries, smokey and earthy, typical Barossa Shiraz peppery-ness and plenty of length. Your first response will be "Oooh, that's nice". The tannins are turned down a huge notch from the Cab Sav, which makes this great drinking right now. Drinking well over a couple of nights, was appreciated by all who tasted it, and at the price very good value ... What a cool concept wine! Loaded with raspberry, plum and pepper the palate is dense and fruit driven with a nice tannin backbone giving the wine great structure and length. It has a lovely sweetness on the palate from the use of the different oaks. It has a long smooth finish, irresistible wine!
Depending on the vintage, this wine tastes way better than you think both for the vintage and the price. You could pay $30 for this bottle and still be satisfied. Great flavour as per the tasting notes and not abrupt on the palate with the finish. Really enjoy this wine!!
Incredibly smooth and perfect for your next dinner gathering. Often available at discount with a members reward card... but even when not is a quality Shiraz that wouldn't disappoint.... And for those that shop by label design this is the perfect bottle for a gift....
I was gifted a 2019 vintage of this wine, had one glass and have now gifted the bottle on. The whisky barrel finish assists a poor underlying wine.
