We bought this after the zipper on our 5th grade son's zipper broke on his Spiderman backpack. We talked him into getting on he could use over the next few years. We decided on this one and he loves it. He is excited because his lunchbox fits in it easily with his folders and books. Plus all the pockets help him stay organized.

I bought this exact same backpack for myself when I was in like 8th grade. It was a BIG purchase for me at the time, but my mom told me how great JanSports were & I loved all the pockets, so I got it. Now I am 31, & I still use it on a daily basis. Over the years, I've put that thing to the test: I've crammed it full, I've carried some very heavy stuff, I've lent it to my ex "temporarily" & didn't see again for a year (he is TERRIBLE about taking care of things he uses, whether his or someone else's), & it is still in perfect condition!! I am only not checking "weatherproof" & "leak proof" from the Pros list because I can't say 100% that they are because I never specifically noticed either way. I can tell you that it's certainly seen some rain over the years, and I can't think of any occasions in which my belongings inside it got wet, but I'm not making any promises about how it would do if it gets set in a puddle of water or something to that effect. It IS made of a type of fabric, so I would just try to avoid that situation, & you'll be pleased at peaches with this one!! Enjoy!!

i am dissapointed that JanSport has also gotten cheap with their products. Your basiclly paying for the brand. I don't expect the bag to last as it has no lining inside. The size is graet and pockets as well but none of that matters if it is not durable.

It has lots of good sized pockets so she can have her dance shoes and clithes in one part, lunch in another, books and laptops in another. It also says it is guaranteed for 30 years???? Hard to believe but…. Also made from recycled stuff.
This Jansport Big Student backpack is a perfect size for my high school daughter that has a lot of books to carry. It’s sturdy and good quality. Has several compartments which she likes and it also has a pocket for her water bottle jug.
I bought this for my Granddaughter to use for school. She said it is big enough inside to hold all of her school supplies and room left to add more stuff. She loves the color too. I would definitely recommend buying this product.
Love the color and the fact it has alot of different pockets and areas for different types of things: space for laptop, another for books, and electronic devices. Still more space for clothes for a trip. Would recommend.
It is very well made and has loads of pockets. The zips have a covering to prevent water getting in. Mine is dark blue. I used it for the first time yesterday walking all around Avebury and inside Avebury Manor. I carried my lunch, camera equipment and some brochures in it with my wife’s drink bottle in the bottle pocket (she carried mine in hers). Once on, I hardly noticed that I was carrying this on my back. Far better than my previous bag that was just two drawstring and a blue pouch which tended to dig into my shoulder.My only gripe is that my back was wet with sweat when I got back to the car. No doubt all carriers like this will do that. No biggie.

JanSport stands behind their product, repairing or replacing for a lifetime. Trust me, I've used the warranty for my daughter's bag and they were amazing! Recently I had to purchase a new bag after my was stolen. I was intentional about replacing the bag with a JanSport. I'm happy, but I did notice a few changes. First, my 17" laptop BARELY fits in the back, padded section and that pocket now only has one zipper pull. Now this could be a different model (but I don't think so), so I'm left to think they've "cut back" on the fabric (literally) and the extra zipper pull. I used these bookbags when I was in high school and now purchase these for my kids. These bookbags hold up very well. The big student style fits so much!! They could very well be used more than just one year. I've learned it's better to go ahead and pay the price for this one rather than a cheap one that will tear up in a month or two. I fully believe you get your money's worth with how well made these are!
