Brought this a month ago.I’ve got digs with wooden floors and mopping it wasn’t working. This is light weight -easy to use - quick and leaves my floors visibly clean. Very happy with my purchase. Only thing I would like would have had an easier water dispenser rather than having to turn the whole machine upside down to empty

We have had this for around a year and a half before the hose came apart. It functioned although dangerously for another 6 months, so we decided to spend £49 buying a new hose. The build quality is poor and the plastic snapped on the boiler cap while carefully dismantling to service. The entire machine needs stripped down to change the hose and it is not made an easy repair. Perhaps they didn't realise people would pull the hose, but they do and it obviously was not going to last. We paid extra for this model and for the Karcher brand. Having used it only a handful of uses over a couple of years, the machine now trips the circuit breaker in the house everytime we try to turn it on now. In contacting Karcher we were told that a repair would cost £145 which is near the price of a new machine. Very disappointed. We are left with a very expensive water container.

I purchased my Kärcher SC 4 EasyFix steam cleaner in August 2021 and have used it on a semi-regular basis over the past eight months in a small flat with carpeting and hard floors to clean flooring, soft furnishings and bedding, windows, bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Despite mobility impairment and weakness in arms and hands I have found this both manoeuvrable and manageable as the bulk of the weight sits on base of the machine unlike those smaller, lower pressure, hand held steamers. At times it is a bit of a struggle to switch between off, mid and high steam volume settings on the selector switch - I am a wimp though, and I would have liked to see colour difference for on and off as it's too easy to leave on by mistake. Being able to refill the water tank on the go is a real plus but completely emptying that tank is a pain due to it's design, even when sat upside down on a towel, which might be a problem over time is you live in a hard water area. As per many reviewers of this product, it would have been nice to see at least a carpet slider/glider in the box, and a Window Nozzle/ squeegee. You can buy these separately, but the cost mounts up. I spent an additional £126.92 on attachments and cloths (Sept 2021), in addition to the £219.99 purchase cost and could still use a few extra cloths. I have found all of those additional attachments to be useful. As a cleaner I get good results on flooring and reasonable results on bathroom tiles, bathtub and sink etc. Carpets and soft furnishings perk up after steaming. You do still have to vacuum and dust before steaming so you aren't saving much time on the cleaning front (but those methods aren't killing dust mites or other nasties) and you do need to wipe down tiles and windows to prevent water marks as cover cloths for attachments quickly become sodden. On the plus side, you can drastically cut back on household cleaning products, though not so much for the kitchen as I don't find the cleaner to be terribly effective for oven and grill cleaning despite all the videos of steam cleaners blasting through mucky looking appliances. I previously used a Polti Vaporetto, which was great for the short time that it lasted (and a Thane H2O which was not) , so am glad to see that the Kärcher offers an extended warranty. All in all, I have been very pleased with this little cleaner.
The SC4 is to replace my broken SC5 which I had for quite a few years with light use. I love Karcher steam cleaner as I can have a constant flow of steam for cleaning. I find it particularly useful for cleaning toilets when there are places that my fingers can’t reach.I use gloves if cleaning high up as I had hot water dripped on my hand before.When steam doesn’t get rid of dirt marks I would spray cleaning solution on the stubborn spot and spray more steam and scrub.
The steam cleaner is easy to assemble and to use. It cleans my tiled floors very well. You do have to be careful when using as when you pull the machine behind you with the hose, it gets very hot to touch. The main disadvantage to me is the length of the flex is way too short. I have to keep unplugging it and moving to the next socket. Maybe I will use it with an extension cable next time.
Like another reviewer the device has been used a handful of times and is just over 2 years old but now when plugged in trips all the sockets on the main breaker. Prior to this issue the hose broke during normal light use. Not the build quality expected at the price paid.Will not buy from this brand in future.
I bought this product to clean tiled floors mainly. I had hoped that it would leave them nearly dry but this is not the case unfortunately. Despite letting the tubes heat up by expelling water over the sink at first, as advised, everything still gets left very wet. This dries to leave water marks all over my tiles unless it is dried off and polished up by hand. This product was a useless waste of money!!!
I have had this a couple of weeks now and used a couple of times.. I have to say I am very disappointed. I previously had a Dupray but thought I would give this one a try after reading the excellent reviews. I don’t feel it has the same amount of power and therefore cleaning takes more time. The Dupray had a tool to clean windows which this does not have and not as many utensils to choose from. It does heat up quicker but that’s the only positive I have found. Disappointed and will be looking for something else or will get another Dupray.
Its very small and lightweight but solid and not flimsy. I have a very old slate tile floor with grubby grout. Despite cleaning the floor on a regular basis, the tiles never really look clean. We live in Devon and the soil is pinky red which is very visible on the slate. I used the steam hose with both large and small brush attachment. Its lightened the grout and taken a good few layers of grime away from the tiles. Its not perfect yet but with a few more attempts the floor will look as good as new. I've got a lot of uses for the cleaner, its small and light enough to carry around the house and needs no chemicals. Its so easy to use - an absolute must for every house.
