Perfect for the start of spring, the Spring 2024 addition to the Kaweco Collection Range is a subtle shade of orange which changes to a pearly, shimmering green depending on the light. The gold elements match the warm appearance of the colour perfectly. The packaging completes the overall design - the special paper imitates the visual effect of the pen, and makes the Kaweco Collection Apricot Pearl an eye-catcher even when it is still packed. In 1911 something remarkable by the name of Kaweco Sport was created. The pocket fountain pen only measures 10.5 cm when closed; therefore, you can easily take it anywhere. With the cap mounted, it grows to an average size of 13 cm. Medium Nib and it comes with a matching Sunrise Orange ink cartridge.

I am truly enjoying my Kaweco AL Sport in Rose Gold, and I was able to remove the fine nib and feed and substitute the italic nib and feed, so it's even more enjoyable. I was going to request this pen for Christmas, but when I read in your email that Kaweco prices were going up, I snatched it up. Plus, I also needed a reward for the knee replacement surgery I just endured, ;) (Really, any excuse would have worked!!)I confess to possessing a penchant for pocket pens; I already have a Kaweco Sport EF in Olive Green and a Brass Lilliput. With smaller, arthritic hands, the smaller and lighter pocket pens work extremely well for me, plus they're adorable!! I really couldn't be happier with this pen that looks heavy but is quite lightweight and fun to write with!!

I bought this for a friend but had to try it out for myself and it was just darling. The nib is F but a little more like a medium compared to my Pilot nibs, which makes for an easy, generous ink flow. I dont hold a pen with the 'proper' school-taught tripod grip, but rather rest the pen body on my ring finger, so the grooves for the screw on cap being so near the nib meant I had to be a little mindful of how I was holding it. The ridge of hard plastic could be distracting out of position, but when holding it properly it was as completely comfortable and I couldn't feel the grooves at all.Feels very secure with the cap ******* on. Truly compact, but when posted is about the same length as a normal pen. Light in the hand. I have been carrying/using my Kaweko Sport pen w/fine nib and universal small cartridge for six months now and I absolutely love it. I have about ten fountain pens, none costing more than $100, but the Sport is the only pocket pen. It has never leaked on me and writes immediately every time. I also am *very* happy w/the fine nib. It writes w/just a very slight amount of resistance (which I appreciate), but I never feel it is resisting my writing stroke. I specifically purchased the olive color so I wouldn't worry if it got nicked up a bit, since I almost always have something in the same pants pocket. However, after six months, the pen has nary a scratch on it. My wife gave it to me for Christmas and I have told her often how much I love the pen. I tend to buy every Kwaco in every color I don't have. My favorite color is green and while I do have the regular green Sport model I don't have this Olive color which is way more my taste than the Christmas green they usually have on offer. Do note that you can tell it's a special edition because it is embossed with "Kaweco Collection" rather than the usual "Kaweco Sport" that they stamp on their normal plastic models.I think it's a great pocket pen and while I often get the optional pen clip I didn't do it with this one because it just looks nice without it. I also didn't buy the piston filling converter because it doesn't hold as much ink as a regular cartridge so what I do is use an empty ink cartridge and fill it up using a syringe with my favorite color and install that instead. I have a collection of a few empty cartridges I use for this purpose for various pens.Overall it's a great pen. The nib tends to not want to write when you first set it down to paper and you have to give it a few taps or press firmly before ink begins to flow. This probably isn't a permanent issue as most of my Kaweco pens have done this to me. I think it's something they do in the factory that gets some sort of oil in the feed or nib that doesn't allow ink to flow so good. Just use it until the ink runs and after you clean it next it'll work the first time every time.Being a German pen, Fine actually is a little thicker than what you'd expect Fine to be but it's certainly not chunky. On nice paper it definitely writes like a Fine pen and on less than stellar paper it tends to want to write a little thicker. That said, these are limited colors so make sure you grab one before this color is gone. Especially if you love green as much as I do. At this point I have 5 Kweco Sport or Al-Sport pens and they are the kind of pen that you don't worry about getting scratched up or throwing in a pocket or bag once the honeymoon period is over. They're like the Bic pens of the fountain pen world and that's what I love about them. Great for any occasion.
This pen is lightweight, small and a good fit for my tiny hands. I can write without it posted, though it feels better with the cap posted. This is a reliable and smooth writer with consistent ink flow. Have had no trouble with leaks even as this little thing jostles about in my belt bag. Surprising performance for a low cost pen. It’s not finicky and starts without trouble and continues to perform throughout your writing needs.Iridescent pearl is a nice color. Bought a silver Kaweco clip to dress up the pen and give it an elevated look. It’s certainly a nice addition to my collection of fountain pens and one I’d readily recommend!
I got this pen in M in the light blueberry colorway and love it visually. Even with bigger hands, the size once posted is very nice. The translucence is a little hard to see from the photos, but you can ever so slightly see through on the blueberry. "Frosted" may not be the best adjective, but I also expect some texture or cloudiness at least, but that may just be me. It's very nice looking and writes well. A tad stiff, but that's to be expected in the league it plays in. I had to get the deluxe clip (I got silver) because I carry a pen daily in my pocket and need it to stay in place. The clip was a tight fit and I had to pull it back off and bend it just a tiny bit in order to get it to clip to my pocket without shooting off. It looks and feels great. Major complaint: Kaweco converters. They ****. I bought one and hated it, so I am sticking to cartridges and/or filling my own used cartridges for now, and that seems to work well except that whether new or refilled cartridge, or converter mine likes to lose its grip on the cartridge and I have to open it and reseat it, and then wait for it to feed. The body is supposedly very well sealed, so this SHOULD only really be a problem when it happens and you have to clean it up. That's what sinks are for.
I had been eying this pen for a while as I loved the translucent effect from the coconut option. However, I did not have a reason to buy an orange/peachy pen... until I discovered a gorgeous ink by Birmingham Pen Co. (which, if you've never heard of, check them out!), and I knew that Marigold would pair perfectly with this pen! It's a fun, coordinating combination for summer journaling (I would recommend writing with this while jamming to the Beach Boys, if that's up your alley).I purchased the Kaweco with a Fine nib, and it writes well right out of the box! It's not scratchy, but it does provide some feedback. Posting feels secure and elongates the pen. There is a bit of a twist noise when taking the pen apart--I don't find it bothersome, but it's worth a mention. ... MoreI had been eying this pen for a while as I loved the translucent effect from the coconut option. I also bought the converter; it fits snugly and although it is tiny, it holds enough ink to last me a few writing sessions. Now, if you want a higher ink capacity, this pen is capable of converting into an eyedropper pen. It comes with a cartridge, which, when emptied, can be cleaned and refilled via syringe with whatever ink your heart desires.Kawecos are great for beginners and those who just want to have fun with fountain pens :)I hope the photos express the color/effect of the pen indoor and outdoor, shade and full sun!Overall, another great experience from Goulet! Fast shipping and secure packaging. Thank you!
Love this little pen. Can carry it in my pocket and not worry about it. I ordered an EF and I would say it's more like a pilot's "Fine," but I still enjoy it. I had no issues with NIB out of the box, worked perfectly.I went ahead and ordered the clip for it as well as the the ink converter. The clip was a little disappointing as it doesn't seem to stick on super well with my pen and is loose. It's not bent or changed at all from the box I got from goulet, so I don't believe it's user error. It may just need some time and for me to mash it on a little harder, but it slips off pretty easily. Clips to paper well, doesn't clip to clothes/pockets well. The converter is great! It doesn't carry a LOAD of ink, but lets be honest, if you're writing 15 pages a day, you're not going to be using a kaweco sport, you're going to use something a little more ergonomic that likely holds more ink.My dislikes -- I ordered (not through Goulet) some of the Ruby Red Ink cartridges and I'm really disliking the ink. I don't think you'll have this issue with the darker Kaweco inks, but the ruby red is super light and seems to "fade" easily. I was hoping for a more bold color. But that may just be me.Overall, the Pen met my expectations.
I’ve only had this pen for a week, but I have been carrying it around in my pocket the entire time. I am very happy with this pen. The Fine nib gives me just the right thickness of line. It writes very smoothly on all the papers I’ve tried it on. Also, the blue cartridge ink included with the pen is a very nice hue. I wish I knew what specific ink it is so I can purchase some more. I also ordered the XF nib but have not yet tried it out. Perhaps when the cartridge runs out I’ll switch nibs as well. I purchased this pen with the understanding it would get scratched up some, since it is in the same pocket as my keys. Therefore, I didn’t worry much about the color of the pen… just the durability of it, and it’s surviving well. As a result it has ALWAYS started writing immediately, with no initial hesitation. Good purchase!
Cliché title aside this pen is perfect for what I wanted it for, personally. It's small and great for an on the go pen. Kaweco has a reputation for spotty nibs (including the infamous tine-less nibs) but mine is absolutely perfect. Like others have said online, the extra fine nib is more along the lines of a fine nib and I can attest to that. It actually writes pretty similarly to the LAMY Safari fine nib if you want a direct comparison. The pen itself is obviously beautiful and looks pretty damn close to how it looks in pictures.Overall, I can't say much bad against this pen so far and I'm very happy with my purchase.
