I used to have a pair of this style, and I wore 'em every day for many years (between 7 and 8, I would say). They fit great, with a wide enough footbed for my wide feets. I wore them out - literally. The back strap came torn away from the side - a thing I fixed with some nylon thread and a bit o' patience. That held 'em - for a while.I bought these, thinking they'd be just as good as the old ones. What I got was a fantastically colored tie-dyed set o' spats that fit a bit tight - much tighter than the old ones. I chalk that up to me wearing the oldies so much I stretched them out over the years, so no points off, I guess. It would have been perfect if they were that wide this time.Another "flaw" in the design I found is that the side straps gap lands right in the ... MoreI used to have a pair of this style, and I wore 'em every day for many years (between 7 and 8, I would say). It would have been perfect if they were that wide this time.Another "flaw" in the design I found is that the side straps gap lands right in the spot where one's "pinky toe" rests, and if one is not careful, they will catch their toe in the gap between the strips of fabric. One definite plus is the sole. The texture is MUCH grippier than the previous version - which I always considered too slippery on wet surfaces. These new ones grip very well, and I almost feel like I'm wearing Vibram soles (now there's a suggestion). So, to sum up, I like these sandals, but think they run a bit too tight "at size", and the side gap toe catcher is an issue. If KEEN would introduce an adjustable back strap and widen the side strips, with a wider footbed they would have a serious contender for Best Hiking Sandals on the Planet.

I always love my Keen Newports. Over the years I have had at least 5 pairs. I originally chose them for traveling when I had planters fascitis as they have a deep heel bed and great support. I have continued to wear them for their comfort and because they are quite well designed for outdoor activities. I love the toe protection for hiking. I bought the tie-dye model because I love color and to celebrate pride month. My only complaint about the Newport is that they can get hot. There are a lot of straps on this shoe!

I wear a size 9 in the original Presidio and the Astoria West sandal and these fit perfectly in a 9 as well. It took a couple of days of wearing thick socks to loosen them up and to correct the left top side of the shoe from rubbing on my toe. After that they broke in nicely, and will probably need to be broken in for some people. There is NO arch support for people with high arches but it will keep a Birkenstock blue insert in place at all times which helps these to become everyday walking shoes. You'll have to remove the insert for water walking. My toes have plenty of space but there is no real ankle support here. I love Keene shoes. I buy them for all my kids, parents, siblings, and employees. They are well worth the money and the best shoe I have ever found (as I am picky). I truly have never found a shoe that makes my feet feel that good. I only own Keene shoes and have them for every occasion.I just wish there was better incentives or discounts (or rewards) that help me with the volume of shoes I buy. You would think I own stock in the company the way I speak them up ans get everyone to buy them. I absolutely recommend them to everyone. They are worth the money and you will love them enough to never own another shoe!!
Purchased the tie dye many months back and came back for the Fuji Rock ones. As someone stated, they are the perfect shade of olive green. I loved the dots in bright colours! I have worn both shoes from the moment I am off work for all my activities, both light and heavy duty. They are a bit of a squeeze to get on in my regular size, but once on they are very comfortable. I don't wear them with socks, so that may require a half size up? I had issues earlier in the year with planter faciates, but after wearing this model of shoes for two weeks, work and leisure I have had zero pain! I have been able to return to my work shoes during the day. Would highly recommend to anyone! Great shoes all around! Waiting for new colours!
The hook on the back of my kiddo's H2 sandal broke off on the third use and the shoe fell off the backpack somewhere. So now I have just one useless size 1 sandal looking near new and very lonely in the shoe box by the door. If I'd know it wasn't sewn on well I'd have just cut it off and then hooked the carabiner through any other part of the sandal. I can't even determine if I'd recommend the sandal to a friend since it only had three days of use. Live and learn.
I've had multiple pairs of Keens in the past. I'm also an enthusiastic Dead Head and Jerry Garcia fan. So I was excited to order these. They look pretty great! Love the Jerry hand on the side and the bright colors. HOWEVER... I wore them one time, only to discover that the sizing is such that the left sandal fit okay - but the right sandal is (painfully!) TOO SMALL! I have never had to purchase two different sizes to get one working pair of shoes out of the deal before, but I would have had to in this case. Unfortunately in the midst of the pandemic confusion and an out of state move, the window of opportunity to return them expired, and now I'm stuck with some great sandals that don't fit, and that cost me a pretty outrageous $150, which I was willing to pay ... MoreI've had multiple pairs of Keens in the past. Jerry.Customer Service was not terribly helpful, since I bought them on August 7, 2020 and wrote them about the size problem on 10/29/2020 only to be told I could buy a second pair in a bigger size, but the "special" they run for folks who need to do that would not apply, since you know... too much time had gone by.Guess I'll put them up on Facebook Marketplace... happy to ship them to you if you find them there and want them!
The shoe has evolved into a wonderful sole that seems MUCH more comfortable. However, the first time that I wore them (white water rafting) the lace was caught and it ripped the bungee and broke the piece that holds it all together. I am VERY upset that I can't replace the string and my brand new pair of sandals are ruined. I wish I could swap them out for another pair since I literally only wore them for a four our rafting trip.
When Keen says order a half size larger I am glad I did. They were MUCH tighter than every other pair I own. I was on the fence about keeping them. I loosen them up and hoped for the best. The rubbed the top of my foot the first day and haven't in subsequent wearing. They are still tight to put on and hopefully they will loosen with increased wear. I am now hesitant in purchasing the second colour offered. I typically wear a 9 in Keen sandals (9.5 uneeks) but 9.5 was tight but I think a 10 would be too big? I love the colours so they are a "cautious keep".
Compared the newport to astoria and whisper.Astoria most support but not sure in rugged area.I want to love the newport but the backing kept rubbing the back of the heel and one foot more than the other that it was so uncomfortable and noticeable. Newport was wider than whisper and more support and grip but due to the discomfort Ended up choosing the whisper. Hope in the future the design team can take that into consideration; more cushion for back of heel. I got them all in size 8 but the newport felt like i should of sized up even more to 8.5 very snug. I normally wear 7.5 sandals and 8 in sneakers. This is just try on review. I cant wait to use the whisper on my travel trips and will be back to leave a review for that then. Hope this helps.
