First let me begin by saying that these boots were not my first attempt to get new winter boots. I took three pairs back to E.B. that were about 2-3â taller but could not find a fit and the lacing was woefully lacking. So then, the hubs found a pair of Keens he really loves so I took a look at the brand.I have to be honest. Iâve never found Keenâs to be attractive (itâs the Earth-shoe vibe in the toe box) but these as well and the hubâs are different in that regard yet still have plenty of width for our toes. In fact, after reading many reviews that seemed contradictory about fit, I still purchased my usual 8.5 and they fit very well.Reviews were also mixed about warmth so I preemptively bought a pair of wool insoles from the big A which I put in the boots over ... MoreFirst let me begin by saying that these boots were not my first attempt to get new winter boots. I can either wear very thick wool socks and no extra insole or thin wool socks with the extra wool insole. Either way, I intend to have very warm feet for our next snowy adventuređAdditionally, the lacing system is great, the Vibram soles are the best for traction, theyâre waterproof, the weight of the boots is not excessive AND, both me and the hubs think theyâre cute;)All in all, you canât go wrong getting these boots! Besides, arenât your feet worth it?

These are my all time favorite winter boots !! This is my 4th season with these shoes, and I wear them daily for work, and they are still holding up great ! I live in Lake Tahoe and have definitely put them to the test. They still keep my feet warm, still don't smell too bad đ , and soles aren't wearing out. I tried on a few different pairs too before I settled on these, and I'm oh so happy with my purchase. When they finally wear out I will definitely be getting another pair!

These boots have keen's signature wide toe box. They lace up nicely, making it a snug, well-fitting boot. They are high cut; high enough to stop snow getting into the boot when shovelling the driveway but not so high that it is uncomfortable on the calves. So far they seem like a warm boot, especially when active but I needed to use toe warmers when standing still in the snow for a long time. I usually wear a 7.5 and bought the 7.5 for this boot. It's roomy enough in the toe box that I considered sizing down to a 7 but decided to keep the extra space in case I needed to put toe warmers in my boots.

I was looking for a hiking boot that is warm, waterproof, and lightweight. I average 5-7 miles a day of trail walking in the Huron National Forest. The terrain is uneven and snow covered depending on the time of year. I looked at a couple other boot makers, and settled on Keen because I have their sandals and hiking shoes. While I have only just started walking in these, the true test will be January, so far so good. Theyâre comfortable, and warm. Waterproof and serious warmth will be determined in deep snow and subzero temps. I will write a follow up review. I know they claim to be slip proof, but we get no joke ice on our trails and I did feel them slipping so I put my crampons on to be safe. I think they would be fine on a shoveled sidewalk. They run tts. So far ... MoreI was looking for a hiking boot that is warm, waterproof, and lightweight. I average 5-7 miles a day of trail walking in the Huron National Forest. A lot of women's boots LOOK durable and end up with crappy zippers, poor quality seams, etc. I have bought boots at an equivalent value point and been sorely disappointed. I bought these boots after a lot of searching for a better solution for frigid winter days. I was skeptical due to the mixed reviews. My feet always get cold in snow. While it wasn't a frigid day (-3*C), I was out for hours. I accidentally put these to the test by slipping into a creek (not the fault of the traction in the boots, the snow hid a steep drop-off) that had a water level up to my ankles. It took me a couple of minutes to get free and my feet were completely dry! More thank I asked for. Don't know about durability yet, but so far very happy.
I must be wearing a different shoe than all these reviewers who say you need to size up in this boot. I am a true womens size 9, and my right foot sometimes even runs a tiny bit larger than a womens 9. That being said, I ordered both a 9 and a 9.5 based on all these reviews saying go a half size up. Totally unnecessary (thank you for free returns, Keen!). My normal size was comfortable and true, and the half size up was definitely too big. This boot has a roomy fit! Lots of space in there. I added Superfeet inserts for arch support, and I could walk/stand for hours in them, now. They're a little stiffer than what I was shopping for (not a deal breaker), but I'm hoping some of that will ease up over time. In conclusion, if you're planning on wearing three pairs of ... MoreI must be wearing a different shoe than all these reviewers who say you need to size up in this boot. In conclusion, if you're planning on wearing three pairs of thick socks with these boots, then I guess go a half size up, but most of us in the snowy CO mountains seem to fare just fine with one pair of normal thickness wool socks.
I probably tried on 20-30 pairs of boots before these. I have chronic sesamoiditis and arthritis in my big toe joints and it was impossible to find a pair of boots that didn't make that worse and could accommodate my high arches. I also have raynauds and my feet go numb very easily. I needed warm waterproof boots for a winter trip to Iceland. These were PERFECT. They kept my feet warm, pain-free, accommodated my aetrex insoles, and kept my feet dry. Even on our ice cave tour that involved accidentally stepping in a few holes that were filled with water, my feet stayed completely dry. Highly recommend these boots!
These boots are incredibly comfortable and I did not need a break in period. First day I wore them for ~15 miles. No hot spots at all. I bought the gray ones. The only thing that could be improved would be making the lower tongue or whole tongue leather so that theyâd be more water proof. One of my socks got a little damp during an ankle/shin deep stream crossing. The boots were more water resistant than I expected though!
I have a friend who highly recommended Keen, so they were on my radar. I went to a few stores and tried many different boots, abd was pleasantly surprised to have these amongst the top two. The warmth factor was a win. I wore them for the first time on a 7km winter hike in -23° weather. I love these boots. My feet were warm and supported. I had a fabulous day, mainly because the boots worked out so well. The fit is great, the warmth was cozy and the support was ideal. I'm a big fan of these, abd I'm very pleased with my purchase.
From Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Today was the first true test with these boots. We just had a massive storm last night with 25 cm of snow, then freezing rain, then rain. I have 2 big snow dogs that need a good 5 km run so I did a lot of research before buying these boots. I needed to make sure that the boots could withhold my needs, as I'm outside a lot during the winter. Well they keep my feet warm, are good walking in the snow but on ice be careful. I was hoping this traction technology on the boots would be enough for me not to wear my ice grippers but if it's really icy outside, I think I'll still wear the ice grippers. I had a few cold puddles to walk through so that tested the waterproof aspect. Mind you, my feet were warm but my socks were a bit damp when I ... MoreFrom Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I wouldn't recommend a long walk in deep puddles with these boots. Overall, I'm satisfied with them so far. I love my Keen hiking shoes so I said why not try out the boots. I did order half a size up for my thicker winter socks and they fit great. I would say true to size. I would recommend these to a friend, especially the hiking shoes.
