I have always loved KEENs... been wearing their low-rise waterproof shoes for work for several years. These did not disappoint. Fit is true to size for me. Comfortable right out of the box. The baffle system thingy is great for relieving strain when you flex the toe of the shoe while hiking or stooping over.

Rubbish! State of the art Keen Bellows Flex (Patent Pending). Donât Keen designers test their products before running off to the Patent Office? My âBellowsâ developed cracks in fewer than 6 months where I could see my socks! No wonder my feet were getting wet! Now, almost a year later in addition to cracks, the entire bellows has pulled away from the shoe. At $160 or so, these are a rip-off. I like Keens for their sizing but Iâll never buy another pair of Keens unless itâs their cheapest model and on sale. Iâm 68 years old and wear these for day hikes and occasional round of golf.

I have always purchased Vasque boots on-line. Never had a problem with their line of hiking shoes/boots. When it got time to replace my low cut boots I could not find a replacement in my size or style. So that led me to the Keen brand and I ordered the Ridge Flex. The shoes are well made however the left shoe did not fit properly. The other problem is that they look like clown shoes. I returned the Keens' two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for a replacement. I'm replacing the Keens with Vasque and hopefully they will fit properly.

Same great fit from KEEN, poor decision to include that flexible rubberized area.Cracked after some non-intensive, on and off use.Rather disappointed, considering the high price point. Not what I used to expect of KEEN.In hindsight, I wouldn't buy them at 20% of the price, considering the durability of the product.
I have been wearing these Keen hikers for about a month now. This is my second pair of Keen hiking shoes in recent years and they are perform well in rugged terrain and wet weather. I wear them daily for dog walking in forest trails and expect to wear them throughout the year when hiking. These are a âtrue' wide fitting shoe and are comfortable straight out of the box.I particularly like the wide toe box, the tread, the toe bumper and really grippy laces. Very happy with this purchase.
slightly wider across the ball of the foot is great for those that like wearing thicker socks, looks like slightly better construction & material junctions than my Targhee that I wear daily, time will tell. Should be great for winter walking & travel. These are my 3rd pair of Keens, worn the others to death. Highly recommend.
Bought 10.5 regular width as I normally do with hiking shoes and they fit great. The bottom feels very sturdy, overall the shoe seems to be of great quality. Unfortunately, the seam where the rubber Ridge Flex material meets the leather on the top of the shoe digs into my instep rather aggressively. I walked around for a little bit in the store & didn't notice this, but after doing some walking indoors at home it was very noticeable no matter how much I adjusted the fit. It's only happening on my left foot, so maybe my feet sizes are just uneven and this shoe isn't the one for me. But I have noticed a few others comment on this, so if you try them on, do a lot of testing before making the purchase to make sure this unique Ridge Flex feature isn't causing a problem ... MoreBought 10.5 regular width as I normally do with hiking shoes and they fit great. I own multiple pairs of Keen hiking shoes and sandals, so I'm very familiar with the brand and sizing. Typically, I buy a size up and always get wide widths when available. This shoe is a new design -- with the BellowsFlex between the laces and toe box. It was on sale and in my size - 9 wide, so I purchased it. The overall look and quality is what I expected and was hopeful these would work. Unfortunately, I found pretty quickly that this new design cuts right across my instep -- making it really uncomfortable just standing and walking for short amounts of time. And with the materials and design, I don't believe it would soften up or stretch out over time. So, I'm returning this pair, and going back to Targhee II or Targhee III -- which have worked very well in the ... MoreI own multiple pairs of Keen hiking shoes and sandals, so I'm very familiar with the brand and sizing. I bought these Keen hikers based on Keen's overall reputation. I needed shoes for daily all day long wear. The features all seem great however within 3 weeks of getting them the sole of one shoe squeaks like one of the dog's toys is buried in the heel. So much for a quiet walk. Sail's return policy seems too restrictive as it requires rhe orginal packaging be kept for return or exchange. Hopefully Keen will address the problem directly as this appears to be a manufacturing defect.
If you think you are getting a pair of Targhee 3âs with more flex, think again. You will notice the minute you try to put them on that they are not like other Keens! They are narrower across the ball of your foot and are very snug across the top. I had to loosen the laces a great deal so they would fit. The footbed also has a completely different feel even if you use your own insoles as I do. They do flex a bit more and have more cushion, but the rubber flex piece on the top may or may not rub your toes the wrong way. I wonder if they will last as long with the more flex and cushion. If you are thinking of these try to try them on in the store ⌠I bought mine online and would exchange them for the less expensive Targhee 3 if I could.
