Extremely delicious mackerel that’s flaky, moist, mildly soft, flavorful but not overpowering. Used as a replacement for canned tuna (which is so often dry and intended to disappear into the recipe), this is an ideal tin for those people like me who really want to still know they’re eating fish, even if there are other components in each bite. I do wish there were more olives in here -only got 2 slices of green, 2 slices of black- but that’s a minor downside when the tin was so tasty overall.Probably the first tin of mackerel I’ve ever had where I thought, “Oh yeah, I should get more of this.” Recommended!

I love the light taste, rich texture, and high quality ingredients. Unlike other canned seafood, Royal Fillets Mackerel always tastes fresh and smells amazing! I love using this(eating this) with crackers for a protein-rich snack, or crumbled on top of sourdough toast. The size is absolutely perfect and the packaging is very accessible (no risk of getting cut).

Even fresh mackeral is an oily, strong flavored fish, and canned fish tends to be cat food strong at least in smell. This is some of the most delicious canned fish I've ever had. I can be very hard to get, either locally or online so I was very happy to find it here. The lemon flavor is excellent with the mackerel, the fish itself is buttery and the ingredients are simple and natural. I can only hope that availability improves so I feel less inclined to hoard multiple cans. I like most of King Oscar's products but this one is a true standout!
It's packaging is cute and easy to open. It's size is smaller than expected. I choose this product coz I research that this kind of fish or seafood is best use by people with blood type O. It's my first time to try this quality product and I'm looking forward to a good and supple taste. It's flavor is exquisite, smels good. It includes healthy ingredients. I highly recommended to replace those other canned goods with this that is good and beneficial for one's diet.
After a brief foray into sardines, I decided to try mackerel. Tender, decadent pieces of fish sat in a confit of oil. I drained the oil and found there was still a lovely variety of plump pieces of fish, very much like the photo. It made a delicious, protein rich snack on its own. I would buy from this brand again.

Not tasty. Very expensive for this quality.MY EXPERIENCE: I poured it over hot cooked rice. Yet, the rice tasted very salty. The label showed 300mg sodium. There was no taste of herbs of Provence and no red bell peppers or black olives. Will not buy again.
King Oscar is a fantastic brand! I love their regular mackerel - this one less so. The lemon tasted a tad artificial to me. I think the sodium levels and/or other "watch out" nutritional elements were a bit more elevated vs. the normal one. I'm still glad I tried it to switch it up, but I'll probably just squeeze lemon on the regular mackerel from King Oscar...
