This is a great kitchen tool that I didn't know I needed until I had it. My soups, sauces, and whipped foods turn out perfectly and so fast. Not hard at all to clean and I like the cup it comes with. I have not charged mine yet and have used it about 5 times, so I would say it has a good battery life. Only reason for taking off a star is that I wish the whisk attachment was included. I get kitchenaid makes so many attachments for different devices, but the whisk is the only add on for this one. I would rather just pay the 10-15 dollars more for this device to have the whisk included.

Next test on the same charge was pulverizing one cup of rolled oats for my husband's instant oatmeal. Instead of a mixing bowl, I tried to perform this task in the included mixing cup. This was not the best method, requiring several lifts and shakes to finish the task. The third test, which really impressed me, was chopping 2 dozen hard cooked egg yolks for deviled eggs. They became perfectly blended in under 30 seconds, and the blender has not started slowing down yet. Cleanup is a cinch - i squirted a bit of soap into the mixing bowl with some warm water and blended that.The included mixing cup has a narrow non-skid ring on the bottom, and there is even a soft plastic cover for it.The user manual refers to another model that includes a whisk attachment and adapter, as well as a small chopper bowl attachment. If KitchenAid is reading this, I hope they will offer the whisk adapter and attachment separately. With a whisk, I could completely replace my old immersion blender.So far, my only complaint/caution is that you need to take special care to make sure that the blending arm is firmly attached to the motor body. There is not a separate release button; it twists off. You need to be certain that it firmly clicks into place, or the blending arm can pop free of the motor body. All told, however, this is a very-well made blender that I fully expect will offer many years of service.

Pros: heavy duty, POWERFUL, has substantial weight to it.Cons: cannot place in narrow bottom cup as it creates a weird 'suction' effect and it's so powerful it literally pushed whatever liquid from cup ha ha. The battery isn't the best. I find it needs charged more frequently than many other battery powered devices. Lastly, the trigger button is a bit awkward during use but minor formality.Would buy again if offered at a DISCOUNTED price.
I had to replace my old stick blender, so decided to go cordless, and I wanted one that came with a mini-chopper. The blender works well, though it can be a bit awkward to press both the buttons at the same time. I also, for the life of me, can only get one speed from this, so I don't see where the "variable" comes in? I make mayonnaise with the blender all the time, but it needs a jar that is only slightly larger than the circumference of the blender, or too much oil gets into the emulsion when you start. I admittedly have not tried it yet, but it seems like the accompanying jar is too large for this. Fortunately, I saved my old one. Otherwise, the usual Kitchenaid quality, and I really like not having to fight the cord, or find a plugin close enough.

It does have a 3 color indicator to show when it’s full, low or needs to be charged.I have to say I’m quite pleased with this. It’s quick and simple to use and makes the need for taking out and setting up the full sized blender unnecessary. I loved this immersion blender, but after it's 2nd use (for less than 5 minutes to make cauliflower soup), the motor literally stopped after approximately 2 minutes of blending. Upon retrying, same result. I called KitchenAid, and after 47 minutes on hold (I'm not exaggerating!), I was informed that they wouldn't replace it, because I owned it for 13 months. I explained that I'd only used it a few times and the rep was very unapologetic, repeating the script that there is a 12 month warranty no matter what, even if it was used for a total of 10 minutes. Very disappointed in KitchenAid. Don't buy this!

This BBQ was of exceptional value when I purchased it from Home Depot several years ago. I have used it at my Outpost camp for the past 4 or 5 years and it has never let me down. In the past I have purchased several high end Weber BBQ's and this one by Kitchenaid may not have all of the features as Weber, but it has been very, very reliable.
