Pros: This immersion blender is incredible. For years I had a cheaper version made of mostly plastic. Th stainless steal is very durable and easily whips up the creamiest mashed cauliflower or blends soups. The blade is easy to clean and I like the variable speeds. The button is also easy enough to press and in a good location that makes it comfortable to use. The cons: this blender came with an attachment to help protect your pots and pans from scratching. I attached it as directed and went on to use it in my enamel pot. As I was blending my soup (which was nearly done) I felt the blade hit something. When I stopped the blade and lifted it out of the pot, I noticed the guard had come off. I purchased this when the motor in my Cuisinart hand blender (which I loved) stopped after 7 plus years. I just knew I was upgrading with this being a “Kitchenaid” but I couldn’t purée even the softest of foods without it turning off within seconds of blending and that’s not even the frustrating part. The frustrating part is that you can’t turn it back on. You literally have to wait like 10 or more minutes before you can use it again. I love how it looks but its functionality is awful. I highly do not recommend this product.

I was excited to receive this hand blender as a gift, but was quickly disappointed when I discovered the PAN GUARD IS MISSING! The instruction book clearly shows that piece and makes a reference to it protecting cookware. It is also pictured as an included accessory in the product description on this webpage. The instruction book indicates this piece can be ordered as a replacement part, so I searched pan guard on this website. That page indicates this piece can be purchased separately for $6.99 but the link for where to purchase simply redirects back to the same page. Also, every review on that page is one star, each stating the pan guard was not included in their purchase. Come on KitchenAid!
