I have a Pitbull who's a super heavy chewer and destroys toys within minutes. I like to buy him the squeaker toys because they're flexible and bend, so they dont split in half when he bites down on them, if that makes sense. I bought him the squeaker tennis balls version of this and he managed to break the squeaker within a few minutes (the overall ball is intact though, and I can safely say I was a little happy the squeaker stopped because man that thing can get annoying)ANYWAYS, I bought him this version thinking he'd do the same thing, break the inside squeaker but still keep the overall toy intact. Well it's been almost a month now and the entire ball as well as the squeaker is still intact and look brand new. MAN is this thing durable.(still secretly ... MoreI have a Pitbull who's a super heavy chewer and destroys toys within minutes. My boxer loves the small Kong squeaky tennis balls but the squeakers break almost immediately. I thought this would be great for fetch and stay squeaky, which it has. The only issue is that there is a spot with the Kong logo that isn’t covered in the tennis ball material and she immediately started peeling it, so I won’t leave it in her toy box to get to unsupervised. She is usually not a destroyer of toys but she will peel any tennis ball I’ve given her besides the Kong ones. Still a great toy, I just wish the whole thing was covered with the material so there was no place to get a grip to peel. Keep an eye on your dog with it if the like to peel tennis balls!

Go to my miniature hound. Squeaker lasted an hour and he's already pulling the skin off. This is the large one. That my friend's German Shepherd hasn't even killed. Mind you I gave him an hours worth of happiness and he was crying for it this morning. It's partially skinned I?m not sure how long it will last but I?ve heard mixed reviews.Daschunds I have been known to kill pretty much any toy. I had high hopes for this. But it kept on going for a bit. It?s still intact just in the process of losing its skin and the squeak it doesn?t work now. It gets taken off him at night, I?m just hoping I don't end up with bits of rubber all over the ground. Three stars because he absolutely loved it though, even though it hasn?t lasted very long

I purchased this medium-sized football because my 70 lb., 7-month old Golden loves the Kong tennis ball. He squeaked that ball until the squeaker sound started to give. I assumed that the football would have a similar manufacture as the tennis ball, however, as other reviewers have expressed, this is essentially a purple rubber/plastic ball with a yellow felt-like skin stretched around it. The first picture shows the ball after less than 10 minutes of play. In the second picture, we see around the Kong logo that the "velvet" is not glued down to the ball in any way. That said, my pup loves chewing and squeaking this ball, so I will likely just rip off the velvet parts as they loosen. For reference, my dog does not destroy nor rip up his toys, so I was surprised by ... MoreI purchased this medium-sized football because my 70 lb., 7-month old Golden loves the Kong tennis ball. I have now purchased two of these bad boys as one has seen its unfortunate end to a teething GSD/Lab pup mix. This ball went everywhere with us and I was pleasantly surprised that it floats when we played with the ball at the beach. That for me was a huge plus for me as the lab in my dog wanted to swim with it all day day. The bright neon color is vibrant and is easy to spot the vast waters of the beach. It did fall apart on us like most reviews have stated and I found that to be true, but only after excessive excessive use and play. We ran it to the ground. It has the legendary resilience you'd expect from a Kong toy but keep in mind that NOTHING LAST FOREVER!!! Its not cheap, but well worth the price for a brilliantly made toy that will be sure to keep you and ... MoreI have now purchased two of these bad boys as one has seen its unfortunate end to a teething GSD/Lab pup mix. Love these balls as they bounce the other way as they're shaped like a rugby ball. Fools the dogs every time. Can leave them out in all weathers as they are really hardy. I've got whippets and bought the smallest size as the medium is heavy and the large is heavier still and just too big for their mutts. Trial and error as they say but these are just perfect and really last.
My dog LOVES tennis balls. On a recent visit to a dog park, I found out that he likes footballs too. I thought that this was a great find - combining the two. It also was a Kong, so I guessed that it might last. I guessed wrong. My dog chewed through it in a matter of hours. I threw it away because I didn't want him swallowing the squeaker or the outside. He's never chewed through a tennis ball (and only once or twice taken off any of the outside)
We rescued a female Chiweenie about three years ago and went through a number of toys until we found something that she absolutely loves: Kong Air Dog Footballs and Baseballs. When we go out in our backyard, she will play catch with me until I wear out. The small size is just perfect for her mouth, and the weird bounce of the football makes it just that much more exciting for her. While the bright yellow color and soft covering soil easily, the durability of them far outweighs the discoloration. I cannot recommend them more highly, and this vendor always has a supply on hand, at a great price, and quick shipping.
My pit Ruby can kill a tennis ball in a bite and loves too but it makes fetch more of a single throw event. I found this Kong version and it was a winner. Just oversized enough, being more mini football then actual tennis ball, and made with thicker kong materials, she hasnt popped it yet. She wants to rip the Kong logo off so bad but its to well part of the ball so shes slowly defuzzing it in the hopes that it will help (it wont). She could take or leave the squeaker, I could go without (hopefully she kills it soon). Overall worth the $. Gotten way more out of it then an actual tennis ball.
I bought this Kong - Air Squeaker Football at my neighborhood Petco, and was a great purchase, durable, resistant to wear and tear from my tough German Shepherd puppy, with strong and sharp teeth. She loves playing with it, fetching, retrieving, gets entertained, keeps her busy for a good, long time. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.
