I have used many horses over the years, from standard wooden A frame style to other brands trying to produce a similar product to this, and this is by far the best one I have ever used. I already had the Mobile Project Center, and purchased this as a nice addition, so i could create a bench, it worked perfectly, and was sturdy, as well as the perfect height for its big brother, the Mobile Project Center. I do however have one complaint about the quality of the build, and to be honest, if it were any other manufacturer, I would just expect it to not be perfect, however as this is a Kreg tool I was a little surprised to note that the black metal cover plates on both sides, were not 100% in alignment with the track on top, even the profiled T shape is not identical, ... MoreI have used many horses over the years, from standard wooden A frame style to other brands trying to produce a similar product to this, and this is by far the best one I have ever used. It was not bad enough that it did not stop me purchasing a second horse 6 months later to even extend my bench further, however the second was was even further out of position than the first, to the point that I had to undo the bolts on the track underneath and try realign to get it a little better. If I had one suggestion about the features of this horse, it would be nice if there were a way to put 2 horses side by side and fix them together with a clamp, in such a precise way that the track could slide from one to the other, maybe some centering pins and holes on each side, so they lock into position precisely? Another nice addition would be to have some fold out metal brackets on the legs, similar to what is on the sides already so you can open out the horse and stand drywall up on its side for easier working, I will add an image of what I am meaning.

The quality of the track horse components are top notch. The legs are very sturdy and simple to extend and stow when not in use. The track horse coupled with the work stand makes it so easy to lay out long boards or plywood sheets. The track and clamp to secure your work to the stand allows you to more flexibility when cutting or fastening items together. When I build projects using Kreg tools makes all the difference for professional results.

Heavy, solid build, with minor flaws. Pretty darn expensive (although some of the profits must have been taken by the free shipping!)Only complaint: the plastic end plugs on the extruded aluminum "track" were larger than the profile of the track. When adjusting the clamp screws to be loose enough to slide onto the track, it left the clamp loose and wobbly. Had to file down to correct clearance.Needs some hand grip slots on the sides of the track. The ones on the resin base are too far down and make the device off balance when lifting. I use a well 'clamped' clamp for a handle which works but could release. Perhaps a handle designed to fit in the track would be a good accessory. If you do make one, send me one -gratis- as a thank you for the idea!

The perfect "saw horse" Folds down and compactly with legs up. If you prefer a lightweight "just strong enough" tool. Please look elsewhere, there are many fine alternatives. The Track Horse is trough, rugged and has some heft but not too much. I have an old workmate that is much heavier. I spent a lot of time searching and bought this with the Kreg folding KSW1000 Mobile Project Center. Got a few extra clamps and such, this combo will set me for retirement. I smile every time I use the clamp system and work in ways my 69 years did not know was possible.I have nothing to do with Kreg or any reviewers. In these times, it is such a joy to actually actually find something built well.
The Kreg KS500 Track HorseIs an exelent work stand. Heavy duty and with the Kreg clamp it’s an adaptable piece of kit.Only downside is no carry handles, although it would be tricky figuring out where they go when using horses. The only other that immediately sprung to mind is maybe a dedicated Allen key to adjust the clamp when using in different positions. Liked it so much I’m looking at getting another and other accessories
Horses are very sturdy, and consequently a little heavy, but that is to be expected. The fit and finish is top notch, and the leg extensions and folding hardware is impressive. I expect to get a lot of use out of these! Rock solid! The clamp works great and I love how it connects to my Kreg ACS system with the Kreg brackets. This is built to last.
Pros: Feature rich and we’ll made. They are substantial. Other sawhorses on the market do not compete with these. Simple leg folding and unfolding, easier height adjustment, positive audible clicks for key adjustments, super stable base, flexible adjustment of the 2x4 hangers hieght. I was surprised that I used the track and supplied clamp as much as I do. A real bonus.Cons: these are minor, but keeping track of the hangers and clamp are left to the buyer. While the 2x4 hangers are adjustable and are secure when in place, they should be removed when folding up the sawhorses, otherwise there is a good chance they will come unhooked in transport. I solved this by buying a $5 Toughbuilt fastener bag with see through mesh window and strapping it to the sawhorse. Will ... MorePros: Feature rich and we’ll made. They are substantial. I solved this by buying a $5 Toughbuilt fastener bag with see through mesh window and strapping it to the sawhorse. Will hold all 4 hangers and other small accessories. The other small con is keeping track of the clamp that that comes with the sawhorse. Like the 2x4 hangers, if you are moving the sawhorses in and out of your shop/garage, you will want to figure out a repeatable way to secure them to the sawhorses when they are folded up and transported.
I've been using a pair of Toughbuilt horses for years. The Track Horse is a vast improvement over those. I especially like the multiple ways of using 2x4 lumber and plywood for job-site work tables and/or sacrificial saw support. My only minor criticisms: the Track Horses are heavy--which is probably unavoidable without giving up their sturdiness. Also the brackets for 2x4's and the included clamp should have some means of storage on the horse while it's being transported--too easily lost or separated from the horse.
I have an array of saw horses all of which are the workable but flimsy plastic kind. Kreg's Track Horses puts them to shame. Kreg's are solid, sturdy, and multi-functional. I am now building them out with the removable work table frame. I have a trash compactor in the kitchen that is beyond repair and I plan to re[lace it with a pull out garbage can drawer. My new Track Horses with the work bench top are going to be perfect for this project. No regrets purchasing these Track Horses. Thanks, Kreg!
This is a copy and paste from my other review. I think the two products work great alone or in tandem. The quality is great, the versatility for my small shop will make the design invaluable. The work bench is a little heavy. I’m sure if it were lighter it may not be as durable. I love having a work bench I can breakdown and put away. Very sturdy and well made.
