I know using this bicycle lock would deter any would be thief from even attempting to try to steal my bike as it would require way too much time and effort, and they probably wouldn't even be able to break through or cut this lock off. The lock has some weight to it but it is very easy to slip on and off . I love that it comes with three keys and the main key has a light on it so it is easy to find the key hole in the dark. The key hole also has a little slide lever to cover it. I am not quite sure if it is that way to protect the actual key hole from the elements getting in there and possibly rusting it, or if it is just for looks. Either way it is a great feature. I am very pleased with my new KRYPTONITE EVOLUTION MINI-7 WITH 4' FLEX CABLE. I definitely recommend this product to everyone with a bicycle. I really like the $2500 anti theft offer it comes with as well. I also like the lifetime warranty as well. This product is a high security system for for locking bike and accessories. I really like that it is compact and so easy to use. Also like that you register register your keys for the locks and if you loose the key they will send you more keys for free. So in my opinion this product is definitely the total package for sure. No more worries about people stealing my bike and accessories thanks to this compact easy to use system. Trust me you love it too. I know I definitely do.
Well, there’s nothing mini about this lock. This U-lock comes with a sturdy flex frame and a security cable. The entire security set up seems well designed and is easy to use for middle school kids. I gave it four stars just because we have only used it for about two weeks. I’m not sure what kids do with locks when riding home but my grandson either throws it in his backpack or locks on handlebars. The handlebar seems awkward. It’s really a big step up from the old thin chain and rusted lock he was using. Bikes get stolen a fair amount around here so this is good protection. Did I mention there are extra keys!!

When I got a new e-bike, I had to upgrade my lock, and the Kryptonite Evolution Mini was just exactly what I needed. I’m on campus and downtown frequently, so I need a lock that I can trust. I love that this lock has both a U-bolt and a cable, so I can lock the frame to the bike rack and lock the back wheel and helmet with the cable. And it’s small enough not to take up too much room in my pannier. (I didn’t bother with the frame mount). And Kryptonite is so confident about the quality of the lock, they offer a very inexpensive insurance policy on the bike.
It's heavy, but it's solid. Signed up on Krypotnite's site for their insurance. For readers of this review who ride Bromptons, this is a good option to secure both front and rear tires. However, it's a little short for locking both the frame and back tire to anything but the most straight and open of bike racks -- and the cable just barely reaches the front wheel. Yes, the geometry of a Brompton is a little wacky and the tiny wheels are farther apart, but it works.
The lock is super secure and strong. The accessory cable is heavy and strong with plenty of length. The lock comes with 3 key duplicates. One key has a small blue flashlight built-in. The lock is easy to lock and unlock. And the lock is easy to attach to the included bike mount. And the bike mount is very easy to install onto the bike. I installed the mount in 3 different locations on the bike before I decided on the best position. All the components together weigh 3.5 pounds. Note: The bike mount only holds the lock. The accessory cable must be stored somewhere else on you or on your bike during a ride. I watched a youtube video (as recommended on the packaging) to get familiar with this lock and therefore I didn’t even need to read the instruction booklet.
