Dying process was easy. Colour mixed well. Hair didn't feel nice after washing the colour out before putting the included conditioner in. Has felt soft ever since. Colour isn't as vibrant as I was expecting, as per the box colour guide, and coverage is not even. Even though the box says permanent and up to 8 weeks, not sure how long the colour will actually last. It looks to have faded a lot in only 4 days and not vibrant anymore. I have been using a coloursafe QV shampoo/conditioner to wash my hair. Dyed hair on Sunday, it's now Thursday, and water still runs with some colour in it which is strange as the dye was fully washed out the very first day. It's unlikely I'd buy this shade of dye again - however I may try other colours in the same brand as it has worked ... MoreDying process was easy. I have really light, baby blonde hair colour and decided I really liked the look of this colour. The colour was easy to apply, smelt ok. A little runny but I managed to apply easily. My hair was left amazingly soft with golden light rose coloured tones, a really amazing colour, the best colour I have ever used. It covered my darker shaded roots and greys beautifully.A totally professional toned down colour, no more yellow baby blond hair.I had masses of compliments and was looking forward to my colour for approx 8 weeks as stated !I usually wash my hair twice a week and use a loreal colour stay shampoo. 3 washes and the colour had gone and I mean totally gone - I was left with a beige toned hair. For those with red hair : For 2.5 years now I’ve dyed my hair in the Violet shade in this same collection, so my hair is quite red. However when I finally fancied a change, I thought this purple might work well. I don’t like bleaching or stripping my hair because of mistakes I’ve made doing this in the past. I figured that it was dark enough that it would take, but light enough that if it didnt take properly then chances are it would just be a bit more purple than it was before but still red. But what came out was something completely different. I’ve ended up with very very dark hair with a tinge of purple, and in the right lighting, it shifts from this dark brown slightly purple colour to the red I had on my hair before this.Although this colour didn’t turn out ... MoreFor those with red hair : For 2.5 years now I’ve dyed my hair in the Violet shade in this same collection, so my hair is quite red. I'm just going to start off by saying that the colour didn't come out as expected but this is due to having already coloured hair which I had been desperately trying to fade in order to get the best colour I could possibly get. In having said that, I am pleasantly surprised by the end result, so much so that this may be my new favourite colour!I loved everything about this product, starting with the initial mixing. It was super easy to mix/shake compared to other brands. Next was the application. The consistency was a little runny, but that's definitely a good thing. It spread so easily compared to other brands that are thicker and more difficult to apply. With the developing time, I did leave it in longer than recommended but I've always done that. This is the easiest review I have ever written! I adore L’Oreal hair products and when I first started colouring my hair at home, naturally, I chose L’Oreal hair colourant. The reasons I still use L’Oreal today are - ease of use, so simple to follow and no overpowering odour which makes your eyes sting! Colours my greys completely. Lasts approximately 8 weeks on my hair. I love the choice of colours and panic whenever the box or number is changed. I even rang L’Oreal's customer helpline once and a very patient and friendly lady put me right on the number I was seeking. I notice this has a new look but it was easy to get my colour and, as it says on the box, ‘everything is the same', the packaging just had a slight makeover. There is not a lot of mess with this product, even for me! The part I love is the conditioner that comes with the colourant, it is such a gorgeous product that makes my hair feel silky and shiny. I love the finished result when the light catches my hair and the colour is so amazing. I have many compliments. I would recommend this product without hesitation.
The cherry red colour was easy to mix with the simple step by step instructions. When the colour was extremely vibrant when applied on the hair. The texture was smooth and the dye wasn't too thin but was thick making it easy to spread over the hair which I liked as there was less mess. The fragrance also was very light too and never had a over powering smell of chemicals. Once washed with the give products in the box my hair felt luxuriously smooth and soft and wasn't dehydrated with this dye. The colour gave my hair a gorgeous shine and silky appearance. Overall I would say L'Oréal dye has to be my number 1 favourite in terms of hair dye and I would definitely recommend this product to family and friends who want to dye their hair at home and save money as its ... MoreThe cherry red colour was easy to mix with the simple step by step instructions. I like the L’Oréal Paris box dyes and saw the Vivids High Intensity Gel and had to try it. I love anything purple so I grabbed the magnetic plum. Easy to apply, I used two boxes and the colour turned out gorgeous. A beautiful plum colour that I was receiving compliments about. Good thing about L'Oréal is that I never experience any overwhelming chemical smells from their dyes like some others do. The colour range is fantastic and if mine turned out great I'm expecting the other colours do too. You get the gel, developer and hair mask in the box with easy to follow instructions and gloves. My hair turned out vibrant especially in the sun and soft, subtle and smooth. The colour also lasted a lot longer than expected. I will definitely purchase again.
Was keen to try this colour as I have been known to dabble with unusual hair colours over the years! I have fine, curly dark blonde hair that I normally colour with L'Oreal Excellence in 01, lightest natural blonde and I'm happy with the outcome. When I saw the light rose gold in the Preference range I had to try it. Using this is easy, 2 tubes that mix together and a conditioner. The colourant while on my hair had a pleasant aroma, not strong like some colourants. I left it on for the recommended time and was a little disappointed in the condition of my hair after I'd rinsed it out, but the conditioner did a perfect job of bringing softness back to my locks. The tube is enough for a few more applications on my shoulder length hair. Unfortunately I'm not too sure of ... MoreWas keen to try this colour as I have been known to dabble with unusual hair colours over the years! The tube is enough for a few more applications on my shoulder length hair. Unfortunately I'm not too sure of this colour on my hair because I think it looks a bit patchy and my fringe has taken on the colour more than the rest of my hair. I also need to put on more leave in conditioner than I normally do because it tends to frizz, but that could be because of the weather so I won't say it's necessarily a problem with the colourant. All in all I will admit that I prefer the Excellence range as it suits my hair type.
I bought this dye because I wanted purple slices using foils through my level 5 hair. As my hair is darker, I was recommended to use a permanent dye rather than the brighter semi permanents which would require pre lightening. My mum is a hairdresser so I got her to do it for me. She didn't particularly like the gel format as she said it was too sloppy, and it did splash around a lot.The result came out looking more like subtle lowlights than the colour that is advertised on the box so I would say as long as you are realistic about the result, it is quite a nice colour. It's definitely not as vivid as what is advertised on the box, and if you are colouring darker hair don't expect it to come out bright. My mum said they probably used the wrong level of peroxide ... MoreI bought this dye because I wanted purple slices using foils through my level 5 hair. She thinks as it fades out, it will be more visible.I would say overall, it's a good starter colour which has given me an idea of what my hair would look like if I wanted a brighter purple next time.
I never review anything but I am so impressed with this I felt I had to. I bought this tonight as my roots were in desperate need of retouching and my red was looking faded. I usually use either Garnier Olia 6.60 or Garnier Nutrisse 6.60, which ever is available at the supermarket. This one was on offer two for £10 , so I thought I would take a risk and I am so glad I did as I am now converted! One box actually goes quite far. I have mid to long hair, well past my shoulders, almost elbow length and it covered my whole head. I think it helped my hair was already box dyed red but I think if it was the first time it still would have worked fine with one box.It does have a very chemical smell when you apply it, but it doesn't sting your head (my skin is super ... MoreI never review anything but I am so impressed with this I felt I had to. I think it helped my hair was already box dyed red but I think if it was the first time it still would have worked fine with one box.It does have a very chemical smell when you apply it, but it doesn't sting your head (my skin is super sensitive) and I was a bit worried that the formula felt kind of drying on my hair while it was developing, however when I rinsed it off my hair felt fine and once conditioned felt amazing. I have seen other reviews where people have said the colour transfer off their hair onto fabrics was bad. Red is terrible for this but you must rinse and rinse and rinse forever after you remove the dye as if you dont there is potentially still leftover dye on your scalp and still built up on your hair. I haven't had any trouble with colour transfer at all now it is dried. The hair conditioner that comes in the box also makes your hair feel like silk!? I wish I could buy more of it. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting a bright red result.
